Floyd rose doesn't cause headaches. Just dont change gauge strings but hey after a while u should know what gauge works for you anyway so wouldn't matter
being able to pull up a minor amount and flutter beats a proven system? If that's your thing. It is mounted on just a strat so that does make it pretty safe and tame.
I want one so bad! A Strat with a vega trem, Graphtech nut and Ratio tuners, a tele neck pickup, Texas Specials in the middle and bridge, 3 way switch for the neck and bridge, and the middle blends in on its own volume, with a master vol and tone. Thats the ideal setup in my book. Its also very pricey! Lmao!
Hey man I'm hoping you could give me some advice on trem replacement for my strat if you don't mind. I have a player plus Strat and I've been looking at Wilkinsons and Vegas, as well as the Fender Deluxe and all of that. I'd like to have a pop-in arm, or at least one that screws on top like a Floyd (not like a standard strat screw-in). Also, I currently have my standard trem set to dive-only, because I like to be able to tune to drop D and I like to be able to do 2 string bends and stuff like that. Do you know if the Vega trem can be set to dive-only? If not, do you have any suggestions please? The most important thing is I don't want a standard style screw in arm, because they always get stripped right away.
Hey man! Have you considered a Tremol-No? It's an extra piece you install in the back of a a trem where the springs are that allows you to set the trem to full floating, dive only, or fixed with the turn of a screw. I'm not sure if it is compatible with a Vega term since the Vega trem has a smaller block size. So double check the compatibility. You can also look at the Floyd Rose Rail Tail and Super Vee Blade Runner. I haven't tried either so I can't recommend them. I can only suggest you look into those options. . 👍
@@AmarAlhoch thanks for the suggestions dude. Yea I've heard of a Tremol-no but I totally forgot they existed. I think I might actually look into that, because then I could get basically any trem system it works with and I'd even be able to float it with that. Good idea. I wanted to get a rail Tail originally, but my Strat has a 2 point trem and for some reason they only make the rail Tail for 6 point trems, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me because they might as well make one for the 2 point trems as well. I just don't want to have to drill into my guitar. I'm gonna check if the Vega trem will work with a Tremol-no. Thanks for the ideas dude.
Gave up trying to restring our floyd rose years ago, the trem just kept lifting as i tried to tune it. So i packed the trem block gap with a peice of wood cut to size. And guess what ...it sounded waaay better, and sustained more ...likely coz now the strings vibration travels into the body, so feels more connected too. Its nice to feel the gtr body vibrate against my ribs as i play each note now, whereas before it was maybe just dissipating into the trem and springs. Wow what a different guitar in both tone & feel. Took me 1/2hr+ to 'try' n tune it before ...the wooden block i cut n packed in about 10mins. Im was never really a user of trem anyway. And instead just use lots of finger vibrato.
Maybe 3 springs is not enough, like my strat uses. Some only use 2. Maybe it needs 5? Anyway after blocking it, it improved the tone,. I think i prefer better tone over doing trem dives. Also suggested it to a mate, and he noticed also that it made his guitar sound better, so kept it that way too. So maybe a great way for musos to get a better sound ...just depends on whats more desired; tone or whammy.

@AmarAlhoch yea I'm wondering how it would stand up to some Eddie van Halen dive bombs and some dimebag squeals cuz that would be some straight up abuse
But no locking nut? I wonder if it's a pain to keep in tune. With the Floyd Rose, you can get really good sustain with a bigger brass block. And if it's set up correctly, it stays in tune tremendously.
