This is easily the most no-fluff no-bullshit fitness video I have ever seen. Props to the uploader.
+sanket baxi props to the commenter for an awesome comment - much appreciated!
Saw this video 5 months ago. Bought a rope and started. 3x per week. Now I can do 20 of the moves. 44 yrs old started at 200 lbs. lost 10 lbs but gained lots of muscle. Love it. Travel for business, best exercise.
McGacka Clan hi you said 3 times per week. How many jumps involved in each time. I have just started and wound like to have an idea. Thanks!
Cool!
Awesome progress man! Are you still jumping?
Try perfecting the form don't run after just the moves it's more beneficial to have a proper form
@@notjustanyuser Wow this is an old post. Never got replies. I started with time and progressed. To jumps. 5 min for the first 3 months then to 10 and 15. Keep in mind I was in my 40's. Cadence was around 100 jumps per minute.
I'm 43 and here is how I started. I would do 25 jumps then walk for about 1 min. I would do this for 10 mins only. I know people laugh at jumping rope but trust me it's hard as hell. I'm now up to 75 jumps and the workout is 25 mins long. I'm losing weight and feel great. If your older I would suggest jumping on carpet or outside in the grass. It's tough on the knees so take your time. Don't get ahead of yourself. Set a limit and stick with it for the first few weeks.
Hi .... is there such good robe brand that you advice?
Ahmad Johar
Thanks for sharing. Ahmad, a simple PVC rope is great for beginners. I recommend a CrossRope for more advanced users.
Great work on this vid-I genuinely believe that if you get into jump roping you've found an effective cardio workout for life! Just keep your diet in check, and you're all good.
+Rope Rage Well said
I'm going to give the variations a try. Hopefully I'll be able to pull of all the moves you did in this video! Thanks for putting this on RUclips. It's very much appreciated.
How can you make this looks so easy? This is FAB!! (Y) I looooove it!!!!!
+Ferlie Ocampo Thanks Ferlie! Glad you liked it :)
I've been trying to learn new jump rope skills. Thankyou so much for new ones.
Rope skipping is a great cardio, it can even be as effective as running in terms of calorie burning when you do it at a fast pace! To some, it may not look as useful, because you're jumping in one place, but actually it proves to be a full body workout, as it works your arms, legs, abs, heart, plus it improves coordination, speed, and agility, which is why it's so popular as an exercise in fighting sports. Skipping techniques are important too when it comes to efficiency, and this guy in the video shows some excellent ways to up your game!
Organic Power Foods Thanks for the kind words my friend
wow! to the 10th power. you are amazing. i just started skipping rope as part of my regimen to get fit (I'm 54 yr old trying to get back to basketball shape), i didn't know that there are so many variations. just wow! man. just watching makes me feel stronger already. more power to u, man.
Glad you enjoyed it Jonathan!
this video is the best one on youtube.. loved it .. i got motivated to skip rope because of your video .. and i'm enjoying myself :D helpful video
i adding jumping rope to my workout routine as a way to add another workout in my day, and I was getting bored with it, but seeing your video has really got me excited and motived to continue to do it!!! keep up the great work!!!
Great video!! I have been skip roping now for a little over 4 months and can really feel a difference now not only with my fitness level but also with the timing as well. Thanks.
Sick...thank you!
I do these kind of exercises every morning. It's fun and healthy!
No, it's extremely unhealthy
CJ Mattias
Really? Why? I've been told it's healthy for your body and mind.
TheHarabeli100 hes being sarcastic i think :P
TheHarabeli100 As a medical student, the only thing I advise against is doing to heel to toe methods en jumping on the heels. It puts way to much pressure on your calcaneus and so on the ankle joint. Your knee joint will also suffer a lot of pressure this way. The other things are all okay. It's like running, it can be very bad for your skeletal system but if you have the right technique it should be fine :)
This is my go to dynamic warm up, cardio, and cool down. The jump rope is so incredibly versatile and it gives you amazing calve muscles and strength.
looks great! i have mastered the basics, cant wait to try this now
DAMN that killer body right there !
awesome
Andy Green Yes you are!
I ordered the CrossRope Swift Set Jump Ropes through Amazon. Will get them in a few days. I am excited. I have been jumping with a variety of ropes both high end and homemade. I actually have gotten slightly better and this has further inspired me. It really takes practice.
The only rope skipping video you need, finally found it! Last time I saw this video was in mlile 2016 to try to get in shape!
How much rest time do you need after a 30 minute session?
Can you do 30 minute sessions every day, or should you take a day off to rest in order to avoid injuries?
@2:47 you match the rhythm of the beat for the song lol
Man, this video is awesome, I love how you show easy tricks for the rope.
Wow, I am so amazed at the fact that you did so many of these (if not, all???) without pausing and so perfectly, too! I have got to try some of these while I jump rope in the future!
I'm hoping to add variation to my jump rope workout; I do 1000 normal jumps daily and I feel like I need to add on to it to work on different muscles. Great video, I'll be using it as reference from now onwards :)
Jeyna LSC Perhaps instead of doing 1000 "normal" jumps, try mixing it up with some of the variations I've shown. No need to add any more repetitions.
Bloom to Fit I'll try. It's hard to master all of these.. I've tried a few and my pace somehow slows down alot. No idea why.. haha!
There's no need to master all of them Jeyna. Pick 1-2 and really focus on those. I suggest you try to learn the running on the spot variation.
Bloom to Fit I'll try to focus on that. My pace slows down when I do it, I guess it takes time.
Bloom to Fit Btw, what other exercises do you pair up with your skipping rope sessions? I know skipping rope is not enough but I'm not sure what else to include in between.
You are really amazing! LOL I can't do 3 skips without whipping my own hands and legs....
Haha it happens to me too sometimes. Just keep practicing!
Hahaha I find that hard to believe :)
Amazing.!! I Just started today and now I'm More Motivated...!!! Thanks!!
Thank you for sharing your amazing technique
the music thoe👌
I HAVE A KILLER TIP FOR A KILLER BODY... start eating right and you get your killer body. You only need minimal excercise to get fit as fuck when you eat right. Consult a bodybuilder.
HDTanel I'd rather exercise a lot than eat right.
This is really a nice video fragment. I didn't knew, there were so many variants of rope jumping. You got me convinced, I'll start to do these excercises. It looks easy, but it takes
coordination, timing, balance, speed, power, and persistence.
Thanks for the video.
beautiful video for beginers in the rope jumping thank you very much!
wish I could learn all this tricks... still I find some really tough
Which one do you find the toughest?
criss cross
JUMP JUMP
Mohit Jain As a person who's been jumping for a long time, one of the most difficult technique to get is the double jump, and rope swing keep trung though.
if i wanted to lose about 40-45 pounds, how long should i do this?
Hard to look at it that way. If weight loss is the goal, start making changes in the kitchen first.
thanks for the advice
About 7000 jumps will burn 1 pound so if you want to lose 1 pound a week you should do 1000 jumps a day
green john
Food is fuel, try not to see it as comfort

So cool!! I wanna be able to incorporate all of these moves eventually.
your coordination of movement is awesome!
I got tired by watching you. I just started jump roping again as I had jumped rope in elementary school. You make it look so easy but it is not that easy - It is very challenging.
Sorry to tire you out! Glad you enjoyed it :)
killer body and...killed joints.
If you jump properly your joints will be just fine. Obviously if you jump with your knees locked like an idiot your knee will will get messed up but he is jumping with good form. Just keep a slight bend in your knees and stop hatin'
Amanda Garza iam not hating just stating the facts.People and especially those who carry more weight than the optimum they ll strain their jonts to the max even with proper technique. Its a great workout, no doubt there, but even with proper technique its too high impact for most of them.
you are such an inspiration, thanks for this video!
Thank you so much for this! you are awesome! i'm gonna try them all
That heel jump cannot be good for your back.
JustMeEddie It's a good variation when used sparingly
that music is cancer. The rope jumping is awesome tho
