  • Bill Dingha Cynabal has arrived in Placid with just the bare essentials in his suitcase: enough minerals for a Catalyst, some blaster, and 1000 ammo. And a bunch of T1 BPOs. It's time for him to speedrun his way back up throught the entire bootstrap process and turn his empty hangar into a home.

    This series is proving to be, hands down, the best thorough introduction to Eve I have ever seen. Kudos. o7

    One more thing: the ACTUAL best thing about Placid...the beautiful backdrop view of Cloud Ring!

    Wow? That's some REAL bootstrapping!! Great work, that was very cool! You might judt think of buying an AB BPO

    It's funny--I started watching this series because I was interested in getting back into EVE. So I created a new character with the plan of doing my own bootstrap challenge. Then I got contacted by a recruiter looking for newbros and I ended up in a super chill indy corp and my plans for the bootstrap challenge went right out the window. Oh well, maybe one day.

    Ex Vet from 2008-2009 here, decided to stop winning Eve and come back last november. I love your serie, it is very relaxing to watch, and I do learn a lot about newer mechanics, or little subtleties here and there. Rooting for my favorite pirate, I love your run.

    There are gate campers in Ostingele, but usually only on the Stacmon gate.

    The icing on the great narrative and dramaturgy cake is that the episodes contain a baked in tutorial of some kind. This level of structure is something I associate with professional pedagogy, but some people are natural teachers.
    I'm using dotlan quite a bit myself. My main base is in highsec, but I find it quite crowded and dull. I've yet to find a lowsec system where I don't get perpetually stalked and I really hate that. I don't mind the odd disruption, but if I can't get more than 10 minutes between every thirsty hunter I get frustrated as I have zero inclination to fight any of them at this stage. If there's a small group of inhabitants that actually talk to you, that'd be an added bonus. I've lived in areas like that before and it was a lot of fun. So I'll keep searching I guess, because highsec life certainly has an expiration date.

      Low sec islands can be worth a look. No through traffic, and folks have to go through hisec to get back out, so don’t want to damage their security status too badly.

    By the way, i live nearby on the HS Island. Will have to pop by and visit!

    Your current fit should be able to run the Serpentis Refuge I see in system. If you can put together a Railgun fit, those run Refuges go *extremely* fast since you don't even have to fly over towards them. I run them with iridium, and don't eve use any tank module.

    Does your challenge preclude you from joining a fleet and being granted access to private player owned structures? Because there is a NPSI standing fleet in Syndicate that will let you use their structures and mine their moons without joining a corp / alliance. I Null rat for modules and mine Arkonor / Bistot in their space one or two days a week.

    • @tabarnoucheinterplanetary
      @tabarnoucheinterplanetary  7 месяцев назад +1

      My rules do prohibit joining player fleets as "outside help" but that's good to know! If they let a public fleet mine their moons, then I might be able to sneak in too without meeting as much resistance!

    Solitude my stomping grounds!! Not sure i ever got your answer but what would you do if you got a daredevil bpc?

    • @tabarnoucheinterplanetary
      @tabarnoucheinterplanetary  7 месяцев назад +1

      If I do get a Daredevil BPC it will be a very similar conundrum to the one that I already have with the Astero BPC. Namely, because it requires all the same materials and reactions that the Cynabal does, I won't be able to build it until I'm virtually ready to build a Cynabal. So, in that sense, building it would probably just slow me down. That said, if I do end up with one, there's a good chance that I decide to build it anyway just because it will be fun to do so...
