The Hostess is non-religious, as she stated. Atheism is a religion because it follows a philosophy. Just because someone doesn't have a religion doesn't make them atheist. You can have a belief in nothing and not care about the outcomes of things. Atheists still believe in an ideal and have a firm belief on the outcome of things. Basically, an atheist would say nothing happens after death and we just rot in the ground. No afterlife or anything. A non-religious person would say they don't know nor care to put any thought on what happens after death. It's not a philosophy, just the absent of putting any thought into one.
