Karl Stamitz was the father of the so-called "Mannheim" school, the avant-garde of Germany at the turn of half XVII°century. Mozart learned a lot from them. They experimented a lot, and namely in the interesting form of the double concerto. Here, we have a double concerto for flute and oboe, by two worldwide known virtuosos: Aurèle Nicolet and Heinz Holliger. The fact that these famous virtuosos have benn intertesed by this concerto proves its value. It is a pity that the classicism then the romantism left such a little room to double conceros. The concerto of Brahms for violin and cello is indeed a great exception.
And Mozart is making many carbon copies from the Mannheim school especially his piano concertos.

The recording industry should consider the complete works by the Stamitz family.

De cette fameuse ecole de Manheim sont sortis de grands compositeurs devenus "petits" parce que oublies, places dans les oublietes, tel ce Stamitz qui merite d etre connu et aime...
La scuola di Mannheim è gioia e virtuosismo. I due interpetri sono i sincronismo perfetto. Holliger un “ mostro “ dell’oboe. Come Bruggen del flauto.

Agradable movimiento levitar. Que hunde al sujeto parsimonioso en el tiempo pendular. El cual se recrea en fulgurante eternidad.
