This video is a huge help. I was about to buy a new one from The Old Lincoln and Mercury Parts Store... mess of a website and they now demand I send the core to be evaluated if its rebuildable to exchange it. If they say no, they said I'll be charged a processing fee and charged return shipping. If its acceptable, I must then pay an extra 220 dollars on parts I don't need because I already bought them in anticipation of this repair. Hoses and filters and such.
@@chinoandsons As for that brass bushing that you said needed to be pressed in, the shaft on mine has the slightest amount of play/wiggle room when inserted. Should I play it safe and replace it?
@@msloquet if you rebuild it right, the pump should be good for awhile. I bought it but haven't had the need to switch as all my rebuilt ones are holding up. My friends and plenty of peeps in our Lincoln community have done it.
Chino! You da man. Question: after installing the seal kit, I put the pump back together and it won’t spin. The shaft moves freely if you push and pull on it, in and out, but unless the housing is separated from the pump, it will not spin freely. Is this normal?? How much force does it take to rotate when it’s assembled?? Thanks!

The seal between the timing chain cover and pump, does it install from inside the cover with the inner lip pointing in?
Has anyone figured out how to eliminate the crank driven system and go electric? Would make a great conversion kit.
Yes Volvo 04 to 2013 c30 pumps.
They work ok. I heard there's a pause at each end.
Sick of leaking gear boxes. Have you pulled off a conversion?
