- Each February the Fresno Dixieland Society presents the Sounds of Mardi Gras Jazz Festival. The 2012 classic jazz festival was held on February 9 to 12. The traditional jazz bands played for one hour, there was a 15 minute break to change bands, then the next band began playing. During one of these breaks the attendees put on a flash mob dance to the music of the Andrews Sisters rendition of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." An American flag is central to this flashmob. More videos produced by Franklin Clay Films can be found at www.wxyzvideos.com.

As a Proud Grandson of a WW2 Navy & Army Veteran (With tears of respect) This is truly The Greatest Generation!.

i love this song (even own the vinyl)
Awww this is cute! My grandmother used to love this song. She would dance in the kitchen at 79 with this and other old and new songs blasting! Just goes to show the old never really get old.
Old people are so precious.
bless their hearts , body may be old ,but the soul is young forever
Merry Christmas
Indeed !!!!
I'm 13 and I have favorite songs all the way back to the 1930s... And when anyone ever checks out my playlist and asks me why I listen to old music I say "Good music has no age". This is a perfect example of my quote 😌
+Gracie Minor me too i love duke ellington and cab calloway in particular
+Gracie Minor : If you live near Fresno, California, have your parents bring you down and join the fun.
Girl, you just inspired me
+Grace Minor My daughter, you are wise far beyond your years. (I'll bet you know how to wrap Grandpa around your little finger too, right?! Lol.)
Good music goes all the way to the 16th century... Favorites include Canon in D, Danny boy, Come Josephine in my flying machine, wedding dance walts (1910), Alexander's Ragtime Band, (skipping to the 40's) The Andrews Sisters Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, I didn't know the gun was loaded (also andrew sisters), I forgot a hit from the 30's Sing Sing Sing with a Swing as well as the 40's version, ect (ending it here, cause I will be here all night writing this if I dont stop)
God bless the greatest generation America ever had
Old people are so rad. This looks like so much fun.

Just awesome~ your beautiful spirits rock!
Remembering how my late father used to smile and proudly recall his younger years and military service when he heard songs like this made me sob. It's been five years and I miss him every day. These seniors were moved that in such a fast paced electronic world of today, someone took the time to salute them for who and what they are and their world back in their day.
This dance and music brings great joy to my heart.
Ohh smiley happy people, they're just loving it. Makes me smile :D
That party is LIT
I was tearing up in under a minute.
Fresno has some redeeming qualities after all.
God Bless them ALL!
What a generation! Such great music and dancing came from this brave and courageous generation! This was so much fun to watch! Anyone who doesn’t smile watching this must not have any heart!

Best flash dance I've seen and I'm 64
James Proveaux, question: will you still need me, will you still feed me, now that you're 64?
James Proveaux I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. I immediately thought of John Lennon, hehe.
Hey..... I'm 64 too!
Lord love'em... nicely done!
The lady in the front with the purple dress was fantastic.
This is wonderful ❤
When this video started, and I saw them setting up, I thought "Oh this is stupid". But, now having watched this, I have to say these folks were great. Really great. They obviously spent a great deal of time practicing this. They really cared about what they were doing . And knowing that many of them were from the era when the song was originally released made it even more poignant. One of the sweetest things I've seen in a while.

If you like this song, you need to hear the 'Backini' version of this song. A modern version - without losing the original classic '40's sound.

OK who was peeling onions???
+Steve Dobson You too. I don't understand it but I always get this really happy feeling then tears when I watch videos of these old people who did so much for America. I get the same thing when I watch videos of like the Gettysburg reunions. And heck, they're not that much older than me; they're just so much better.
You go Kids👍🍺
It's amusing how the more adept dancers were placed towards the front.
hebneh That's how all dance companies place their dancers.
Love you
