The markings were molded on the plane to show the builder where to locate the decals. This was common on kits from the 1950's and early 60's. I built the A-1 Slyraider when it was first released by IMC. This was a neat idea. Renwal had a series of WW1 planes that included tissue printed with the airplane's color scheme and markings. The tissue was adhered to the plastic model with thin liquid cement that was brushed on. Another neat idea that didn't catch on.
Yes, those colors are FS numbers... 34079, 34102, and 30219 over 36622 are the colors for the Vietnam era South East Asia Scheme... The IMC Battle Damage kits were the RF-4 Phantom, A-4 Skyhawk, A-1 Skyraider, F-105 Thunderchief, F-100 Super Saber and the Mig 21... Those are the ones I remember building back in the 70s
Remember them from the 1970, could pick them up from the local Dairy Mart store, kind of like a local 7-11. Was maybe 12 at the time never painted them but loved to build them. You could build them damaged or un damaged if I remember right.
Despite what the box & instructions say, the model is actually of the F-100C, with the straight wing trailing edges. Yes, the drop tanks are accurate. Yes, that is the correct number of underwing stores pylon locations.
I used to have the IMC Phantom, MIG-21, F-100, F-105 & A-1 Sky Raider, but sold them all at one time. By the way, I love how you incorporate your cats in your videos. The first time I saw one of your videos, I smashed the like button just that. I love how they try to ham their way into the video! :)

The Revell kit is actually 1/70 scale & was first issued back in 1956.

I built a couple of these kits as a kid. Great memories. I remember their car kits were a bitch. Enjoyed the vid.
