The fact of the existence of left-wing opportunists in Russia does not give the right to assert that this trend is the majority of the left in Russia. There are left-wing opportunists and social chauvinists in all capitalist countries. So the right-wing government is trying to disperse revolutionary progressive aspirations and put them partly at its service. The positions of the left internationalists are objectively stronger in theoretical terms. In any country. And the development of history, with the aggravation of national conflicts, will only confirm this. Such statements by Zizek from the Western left are dangerous. They give the right to call all Russian leftists wrong. And in fact generate chauvinism. On the contrary, it is necessary to show and talk about the true international left.

I don't understand his point. Why conservatives can't support poor countries and be against LGBT at the same time? It's not a trick. It's a holistic position.

zizek is very ignorant of actual history. zizek is nothing compare to George Kennan, whose predictions and warnings came true. has zizek even read any of FOIA documents from clinton-yeltsin meeting??
imagine taking a position of a philosopher over one of the greatest geopolitical analysts of all time. geopolitical realism > zizek's bs .
i'm against putin, but it's foolish to ignore geopolitical realism.
and by the way, zizek is worried about Uganda's trans law? but he didn't give a ffff when Uganda's cvd lckdwn: doubled child labor to 4Million, increased pregnancies in girls age 10-14 by 366%, and 5million students never came back to school.

yea modern philosophers and their followers overdose on bs critical theory that they just can't see or don't care about geopolitics. generally they're anarchists

@@john.premose 1. FYI, your comment did not show up in my notification. YT might be shadowbanning your comments. so check on your end.
      2. To your question, yes. that is the only thing he is concerned about for Uganda bc he has no clue about geopolitics & economic of Uganda. USA sanctioned (& the world bank froze fundings to) Uganda b/c of that "trans law". In reality, USA sanctioned Uganda b/c Uganda & Russia recently made commodity & nuclear energy trade deals - ofc, under american imperialism independent nations must get trade approvals from USA, right??
So to gain public's support for this sanction, USA used this trans law as an excuse so sheeps like the woke left and uninformed fools like Zizek (and you) blindly and continuously support the US imperialism abroad.
Besides, there are bigger concerns for Ugandan pple than trans issue. Uganda is suffering economically from both lckdwn collateral and USA sanction. You really think trans issue is important when 3000 schools closed and millions working in informal economy never fully recovered, and sanctions on top of that? in Uganda lckdwn directly doubled child labor to 4million. Cvd lckdwn created 400 million new poverty world wide (under $6.85/day poverty line. 100M are under $2.85/day line). it's what Professor Toby Green calls 'medical colonialism'. This new 'medical colonialism' is what you and woke left supported last 3 yrs.
It's flat-earther level for Zizek to think that Putin is using trans issue to influence geopolitics and foreign policy. oh how myopic Zizek is.
      3. you replied with zero rebuttal, so when you call me "reactionary clown", are you sure you are not projecting yourself? self-reflect a bit.
And it's clear you didn't read FOIA documents regarding this war.

When did anyone bring up the word "woke". What does "woke" mean. If you're speaking on the letter salad that is the LG tv+ Community, then I will simply say a statement leaving out the long tiring word that has negative connotations (LGBTQ+):
Everyone deserves to be treated equal, no matter the personal discomfort or distrust you feel towards them. Yes, people may be arrested and sent to prison but only if they do something that harms others. Being gay or trans doesn't harm others. It may discomfort them but fuck your comfort

@@MrBaumGeo its more than just mere equality what is at hand. The narrative of gender equality engenders a veil that pass through culture and hides the bigger inequalities. Thats what zizek has addressed as pernicious.
