[Update: Todd did pass away, but we are so grateful that he was able to go home, be with his wife and children and his dog, and be at home with them when he passed. My brother was on a respirator in ICU. After he was taken off the respirator, he had pneumonia. I put Vick's Vapor Rub on his chest, under his nose, on his ankles, legs, and feet. Within 15 minutes of doing so, almost all the white looking thick phelum with bubbles and blood came out. My sister was looking but still asked, "what did you do?" She was amazed! I told her, I put the Vick's on his ankles and feet with socks on.
His doctors and nurses were so amazed at how fast my brother recovered, they were so happy and cheering for him. They knew I was praying, but we all began to praise God for that God inspired knowledge that I found. I applied the remedy and it worked. I give God all the glory!!! I also thanked them for their knowledge and wisdom in help to treat and care for him. 🙏

So many young doctors have been kept away from all holistic teachings and gated off by the powers that be in top education. I urge every doctor to not discount natural healing and quit working against it by also limiting your capabilities, saving a life and then receiving repremand is the name of the game until the board recognizes how many doctors they have lost due to incompetent guidance and close minded legislation! Let that light shine everywhere, every corner, within every application, wherever possible. All things are possible! Western medicine is extremely limited, therefore, not an authority!!
My grandma and parents used to apply this for when we have flu like symptoms or cough, and I can attest this thing is a miracle.

Vicks was the 'go to' treatment when I was growing up, and it remained so with my own children, and continues to be my first 'go to' treatment today - I am entering my 82 year so it has been a part of my life a LONG time.
I'm 62 and when I was a child, my mother would put some Vicks in a pot of boiling water and we would have to put a towel over our head and lean in to breathe in the steam. It worked every time to break up congestion and make breathing easier when we had a bad cold.

I an 85 year old Caribbean fellow and I remember our beloved mother using Vicks Vapour Rub on us whenever we had a cold or any kind of sneezing going on! She always massaged under our feet with the Vicks also and that got rid of that flu or cold in no time. I have used it on my own children and the pattern contiues to this day on their kids. It[s a Miracle cure for almost any kind of pain or even itching any part of the body!

Yes!!!! My Mom too! Also, my Italian Grandmother used to dip her finger in the Vicks,then the sugar bowl and had us swallow that concoction when we were stuffed up,coughing or sick! Straightened us right up and surprisingly, we lived to tell the tale!
Do you remember if matters where on the bottoms of your feet you rub it? Like just in the arch or the whole thing, ball, arch & heal? My husband and I have the flu and I want to try something that will help him especially get through a night without coughing.
When I use the Vicks Vapo Rub on my feet, I use a plastic knife to smear on the entire bottom of my feet leaving my hands clean to then cover my feet in a pair of socks. It works great & I use it whenever my sinuses or allergies are troubling me. I had just told a very young mother the other day that she could do this for her baby when needed. It truly works!

We saw a Naturapath when our children were young. Vicks to the feet, followed by wool socks was one treatment that really helped them feel better.

I was in Publix one day looking for a cold medicine for my little boy, and I ran into one of my daughter's best friends. When I told him that my son was feeling bad, he told me that when he was sick when he was little, his grandma used to rub Vicks on his feet at night and then put on a comfy pair of socks, and put him to bed. He said he had never slept so well in his life. Even with a cold. That night, I followed his grandma's advice and my little boy really did benefit from it. His cough was down 75%, he slept more peacefully, and I'm convinced it shortened his cold. We did this for the next 2 nights, and he felt much better. Thank you for your advice. Vicks on the feet is something past down from my grandparents in my family. Nice to hear the medical explanation. Vicks has always been the cure all in my family. If your head falls off, just put some Vicks on it and you'll be fine. 🙂

When we were kids in the sixties and had a cold or flu, Vick’s vapor rub was applied to our chest and sometimes our back at night, then we were loosely wrapped with ace bandages. It not only helped topically, but it opened up our nasal passages as well. This had been done in our family since Vick’s was made. Worked every time!

All my relatives used Vicks for so many things when I was growing up. From rubbing it anywhere you could put a heating pad, for sore or rough hands and feet, a headache, cold/cough to a sprained ankle. It not only healed, it gave you love and comfort. I still love it!

Its true ive been using it for years whenever I or my kids have cold or flu. My mum suffers terribly with asthma and coughs really bad at night. As soon as I gave her the vicks to rub on her feet she slept the rest of the night better than a baby...its amazing stuff!

I am a reflexologist, and I approve this message. lol Your feet hold a map to the rest of your body. I do this, and my husband laughed at me when I rubbed this into his feet when he had a bad cold. Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people because an upsetting event occurs in their lives taking them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. He learned a lot from the Doctors he was around. He delivered all 8 of his children. They had 5 Boys, then 3 girls. My oldest Sister was born with her naval cord around her neck. What they called a "Blue" baby. Our Grandmother, his Mother said, "It's a girl, but It's dead." According to our Mother our Father jumped up, ran to the well, came back with COLD water! Grabbed the baby by the ankles, threw the Cold water on her back and slapped her Behind! She SUCKED in air! My oldest Sister will be 79 in July of 2023!

I have been coughing for two weeks. So much so I canceled a dentist appointment three days ago. I watched this video at 8:09 AM Thursday, January 26. 2023. I rubbed both feet, my chest and neck in Vicks VapoRub at 8:11 AM. I coughed at 8:14 AM. It is now 8:28 and the coughing has stopped! I will post an update later. Also I put the CapoRub on my chest and throat because of mucus. But again, I am not coughing!!!!

Hey Doc, hey guys. Id like to request some prayers for my mother Veronica Kaplan, 71 years young, she went in the hospital for stomach issues and it seems she has cancer. We haven't heard the true diagnosis yet but the gastroenterologist believes it's cancer and she has about a year. We believe as long as she stays positive, she can beat it, or at the very least stay with us for more than one measly year. People can do a lot with will power, but I would appreciate some divine intervention guys. Please prayer for my mom. God bless you all

My father went to his Doctor for a regular checkup. He was put on blood pressure medication & was told he had about 10 years to live. He was 59 then. My father lived to 95 , 36 years after being told he had 10 years left. Don't ever take a Doctor's word for life expectancy ! So many other factors are involved.

Over the years, I have watched a few videos on the benefits of Vicks but I have NEVER heard anyone explain it like you. Wonderful, thank you.
It also helps eliminate toenail fungus. I recommend applying it to your feet & cover with white socks after bathing & a trim. It takes a while as the nails grow out, but it’s easier on your system than the oral meds. I’ve personally known several people that it worked for.

Vicks VapoRub was common thing in households during the 50s, 60s, 70s,. Always had it to rub on the chest for colds. It works wonders. I still use it.

Thanks Doc for reminding me of my younger days. My mom was quick to apply Vicks®️ VapoRub™️ on me whenever I presented signs of coughing or complaining of a sore throat - especially during the winter months. And I must say she would dab a little on the bottom of both of my feet, but only after she made sure both feet were clean. Finally, she would apply just a little on the base of my neck. My mom said it was something she learned from her mom who learned it from her mother. My dad simply scoffed at the idea of using it on my feet, but one thing was very clear: it absolutely worked. If I slept well then my parents slept well. After that, dad always made sure mom had a good supply of Vicks®️ . Thank you Dr. Mandell and thank you mom🙂

Been doing this for the last couple of years every time I feel something coming on. I put vix under my feet with some eucalyptus oil and tiger balm and next day feel better. My 91 year old mother was sick we put this under her feet and she was better in a couple of days. This works…

My mom used to rub Vicks on my throat and then heat up a handkerchief and tie it around my neck before bed. I'm 57, so we didn't think anything about the dangers of having a literal noose around my neck during sleep. I'm still alive and so is my mom at 91!

Give a nice dose of vitamin d as well (research it). more than recommended does wonders. That was the remedy big pharma didn’t want us to know about when covid first hit. Ex: my uncle & his wife are very loving & always up under each other. His wife takes vitamin d religiously & he didn’t. He caught covid & she did not. Now they both take it every single day
I remember my aunt when I was a little girl. She would put Vicki's vapor rub on my chest and put a flannel cloth, and pin it to my shirt

I have sleep apnea, copd, asthma, emphysema, and the list goes on. I use Vicks on my feet with socks in a well ventilated room. I use my nebulizer & oxygen machine with the face mask and believe it or not it helps my breathing as well as diabetic dry cuticles, callouses on my feet and it does wonders for foot/nail fungus. You are so right. MOM was putting it on the chest and rubbing it under the nose, too. She put a towel on it and than our pj's. It worked. I did the same for my 3 children. The wonder med. P Drozd I also have migraines and rub it on my forehead and wala it works. P Drozd
This triggers my asthma. I guess that’s why you use it in a well ventilated room? I love the smell and my mom used it for everything when we were children.
@@annabelles1622 yes I can only use it in a well ventilated room and my breathing must be protected such as have my mask on while using my machines or it will cause me to have an attack. I only use small amounts aka just a small dab at a time. I know my limits. I also keep my rescue inhalers on hand too. I hope this info helps you so you may be able to also use Vicks without having any issues.

I use this all the time. It really works. The Vick’s not only helps your breathing and cough, but your feet will be soft and amazing. I put it on all over my feet, heavy and cover with thick socks and go to bed. In the morning you will feel better and your feet will be soft.

Great Advice Dr. Mandell, my mom put Vicks on my chest as a kid back in the 50's and I still use it today. It works good under the nose for sinus headaches also. Thanks for taking good care of us, you're the greatest!

I am from Samoa in the South Pacific and we also grew up with Vicks n tiger bum besides coconut oil a natural therapy if we didn’t have money to buy vicks We just warm it up in the sun n apply on your chest back and all over if need be n it works! These were the only things we ever had There were no doctors n only 1 hospital that u go there to die instead of helping you! Thank God for natural resources n general knowledge!

Best doctor I’ve never met. I did this and let out a caugh while I was still rubbing it on the 1st foot. This is what doctors are for. Most doctors don’t like home remedies because it keeps people healthy and out of their office. I respect this guy.
Edit: The next day which was yesterday I had a pain in my left thigh around 3 o’clock in the afternoon. It’s a pain I’ve never felt before, not like a bone spur but it was hard to put weight on it. It went away after about 3 hours. I don’t know if the two were related or not

@@patuxent78, yeah, well, he’s a chiropractor, so he’s really into alternative therapies, and I’d imagine he’s had a lot of experience seeing those therapies help his patients. My brother is an M.D., so I had a dim view of chiropractors for years. However, our sister and my son have both been helped a lot by their chiropractors. I see Dr. Mandell’s advice as something to try, though I’d not let it affect my decisions on when to go to my M.D.

I used Vicks on my feet when I had covid 19. It really helped my cough! So glad to hear you reinforce its use in this way!

I wish I remembered that when I most definitely had Covid in January 2020, when nobody knew about Covid. No fever, a cough that lasted for 3 months and the worst sore throat I've ever had. I was chugging Delsym and taking Mucinex extra strength, nothing worked. After 2 months I decided screw it, it'll last however long it does. Growing up my mom used to put Chinese ointment in hot water and I had to breathe it in with a big towel over my head, until the water cooled off. Miserable sweating experience, but it sure works

Vicks has always been a part of my life. I never used on the feet until my Son. He suffered allergies and would get sinus infections and someone said give it a try. Now at any cough or clog, I'm applying it immediately. I actually woke up this morning with the start of a cold and have it slathered on my feet as I speak.

@@mailimuwa5133 He was a toddler, probably around 2 or 3 when I remembered the trick. He loved it because it tickled his feet. He's a preteen now and still asks for it when he gets congested.
When my hubby is feeling under the weather and can't stop coughing at night, I suggest to him to put vapo rub or a mixture of coconut and mint oil (eucalyptus, peppermint or spearmint) and 1 or 2 drops of oregano oil (very volatile so it needs to be diluted) on his feet. He rubs it on, puts on socks and by the time he lays back down he's no longer coughing.

This really works! I can't remember where I learned about this, but I did this when I had a cold while I was pregnant. You're pretty restricted with what medication you can take while you're pregnant , eg. no decongestants or cough medicine. At night, I would rub vap-o-rub on the soles of my feet and put on a pair of socks....slept like a baby!

Our family and ancestors have used Vicks for decades. We use it for chest rubs, for our feet, as inhaler, for ant and mosquito bites. The list goes on!
I use it as a face moisturizer.
i know it from child hood . i have hay fever year round i inhale it and when even a slight cough and or sore throat starts i inhale and for throat i inhale through my mouth and its brill . when my older son was small i bought snuffle babe and put a little on his chest and a little on a hanky tied to the cot as said in articles . i dont understand why this is banned in japan and several other countries ?
@@sweeta17 Vicks Vaporub isn’t banned in Japan, it was just the inhaler version that had psuedaephidrine in it that was banned. As far as I know that version doesn’t exist anymore so Vicks inhalers are fine to bring to Japan now as well

Did you know the Vicks expire and most likely the little bottle you have has expired.
The ones I use last over 5 years and I never saw a difference between an expired and a new one (other than the 2020+ ones are not as strong as the older ones I had) wish they went back to the older formula.

Thank you for explaining this interesting set of facts! I know it is true about applying Vicks on the bottom of feet. When I had stage 4 metastic cancer of the lung, the nurse told me to try this method. I had terrible times sleeping. The very first time I used Vicks on the bottom of my feet gave me the relief I needed and was able to breathe better and actually sleep well. No more middle of the night coughing among other benefits from using it. Amazing and true!

Hi Doctor Mandell, your information is so useful with our health without wanting us to take a pill as in prescription that causes side effects. I had been using Vicks for sometime on bottom of my feet with socks, and Vicks on chest and under nose. My grandmother bak in mid 60 and 70s use to have us as in my siblings line up and she wld get a butter knife and remove some mentholatum from the canister that it came in and we wld hav to swallow it when we had colds and coughs. It never harmed us, it made us feel better. Today as a adult I wld not recommend that any one does this, but it worked. I'm over 65 now. Vicks is a miracle worker for feeling good fast. I live in the south. We have used Vicks VapoRub for 50+ years on the chest & definitely the BOTTOM of the feet. All of my extended family used it My Mom would put this on our chest, bottom of feet, & spread it under the nose to breath in with every breath. Was not fun, but it always seemed to work wonders. Many families use to put it on the back- closer to where the lungs are.
My Great, Great Uncle had Asthma, they would give him Adrenaline shots for the Asthma, he would drink hot coffee & also Vicks VapoRub- not all at the same time obviously but they would give him as a kid hot coffee & Vicks on bottom of feet together. Asthma is usually tied in with allergies but these quick fixes seem to really help.
Another was when my Mom would put white vinegar on us after a long day at the beach when we were sunburned. She would pat, pat, & pat us all over with that stuff. You stunk but it seemed to take the fire right out of your skin.
I bet that's why my son now 40 can not stand the smell of vinegar! Lol He runs for the hills when I use it for cleaning! Lol
It’s also good for a bee or wasp sting. Takes the sting out of the sting. So does bleach and ammonia, not together of course.
I keep a bottle of white vinegar in the kitchen all the time to use when I burn myself cooking. Normally, just pour over a light burn. If bad burn , I soak a paper towel and wrap around my hand/finger. Really bad burn , I put vinegar in bowl and soak hand for as long as it takes for sting to go away.
Regular foamy shaving cream will pull the heat out of a sunburn as well. Gillette or Barbasol work great.
White vinegar is good for many uses.
If you can apply it to a burn quickly within seconds, it will help prevent scaring.
Jellyfish stings too, as long as it isn't a Box, Man of war or highly deadly type.
Dog training, a mist to the nose when giving commands aren't going your way.
Switching your coworkers water with it just for a reaction.

When I had my first crippling shortness of breath from asthma, my grandfather had me swallow vaporub. We were in a rural area with no available ER so when the vaporub eased my breathing it was a big relief.

if you ever travel to japan dont take wicks along as it is banned there and it would cause you trouble . it was disgust on the j. vine show some months back . its also banned in other countries . cant recall for sure but i think it was also the usa etc .

This does work. I had a really bad cough nothing worked on last year(non covid). Put on bottom of me feet put on socks and went to bed. Did this for several days until no cough during the day. My parents use to do this when my siblings and I would come down with colds, sinus problems, etc. They would put it on our chest, throat, back and armpits & sides. Then we would wear our flannel nightgowns/pjs. They then would put it on the soles of our feet, and then put socks on us. Always worked. Thanks for all the tips. I love your channel.
