It would be so cool if they had you combine the crab claw with a string or chain to create a grappling hook!

YESSSSSSSSSS we gotta have crab rave!!!
CRAB RAVE!!!
Yes do it
CRAB RAVE
I NEED ITTT
The crab is a really cool mob, but I don’t like that a real life mob will never be added cause it was in a mob bite once!
I think they’re making a good decision by having real life mobs because they will be way more likely to implement them in the future. Real life mobs can always have a place in Minecraft while strange fantasy creatures can be weird to randomly add in
Foxes, goats and glow squids all voted in
They may come to the game at some point, not confirmed but may. Mojang have said this about each mob vote since 2017.
Hey we got frogs now!
… only took them 3 years 😭
Yep, and it's very likely that the Crab won't make it in, and with it we'll also lose the chance for block placement extension.
The MineCraft community should have gotten a leash on Mojang and stopped the cancerous MobVotes a while ago, it's leaching so much potential from Minecraft, yet the community has failed to rise to action...
I can't believe they are adding crab meat sandwiches to Minecraft!😋😋
this means they will make it so you can put crabs in a cauldron

Hi blockfacts when will your next video it's been 9 months
I'm wondering if this year they're going to pit 3 types of players against each other.
The crab obviously being for the builders with the crab claw, but what if they have something for the redstone engineers or the PvP players or the crafters, so on and so forth. Because if this is what they're going to be doing, that would be huge and people would definitely be voting for their particular play style
The crab claw will allow "Crystal pvpers" a lot easier kills. They need to remove crystal pvp from the game before they do this or they are asking for a ruined meta
Jellyfish wires and personal Seagull harass flock maybe?
Combat has gotten a lot of new things, Shields, Tridents, Crossbows. Adventurers got End Cities and Nether Update and Deep Dark and Trail Ruins. Redstone got Honey Blocks and Sculk Sensors and Shriekers. Builders got Scaffolding a while back but that's it, I think a new tool to enhance the actual process of building itself rather than just new blocks to build with would be really good. But we'll have to see what the others mobs bring to the table.
Crabs: builders
Seagulls: maybe auto farms???
Jellyfish: brewers?
The crab claw seems niche especially for building.
The crab actually goes so hard. Cute animal, awesome item. If all 3 are this good this is gonna be a close ass vote
Yea
Yeah, they just need to add it to more biomes. Mangrove swamps are pretty rare and adding crabs to normal swamps, warm oceans, beaches, etc. would make them do a lot more for the ambience and be easier to find.
@MoleculesAndMinecraft is true, but putting Crabs exclusively in a rare biome gives that biome a value besides being rare.
Steamed crabs, here to stay. Get famous.
Jokes aside I’ll vote for them as long as there aren’t any birds, because the previous ones haven’t been added and even if they will, it’s still a slow pace
The last bird lost due to fears of it stealing items… it got last place in 2019.
Seagulls are known to steal food, I feel like they may add that as a feature.
@@rustyshackleford234idk why savannahs got second in the 2018 vote though. Provided a birb, another insect mob and far more content than the Taiga

The crab claw is either an offhand item or something you can make a potion or a stew with and it gives you a temporary effect. There aren't many other ways to make it work.
did not even think bout a potion but it makes sence
I'm betting it's an offhand item.

A date which will live in infamy. The 2020 mob vote was suddenly and deliberately rigged by the stans and fans of the RUclipsr dream.
would be nice to get that back again tbh.
Block reach might be really helpful for building bridges, especially in the Nether. (Yeah, I know there's the crouch technique, but doesn't that leave you wide open to mobs?)
It does kinda. And if you jump or get hit or bumped by a mob- well, hope you either didn't have anything valuable on you (including XP), or have a fire res potion.
I like being wide open.
Don't quote me.
@@Halo_Legend I guess Ghasts do be moaning large white floaty things flying through the air if you're into that
Are you all saying the crab claw will help with speed bridging?
@@absinyth8215 Seems like it could, at least.
The Crab is cool, but it's linked to a rare biome so you wouldn't see much of it. I think something like the glow squid which spawns all over the world and adds ambience in a lot of different places is better than a mob you find once in a rare biome and never see again. Yes, biome specific mobs add something new to explore your world for, but I feel like minecraft is lacking in ambient mobs. Hopefully the other two will have items that are just as useful.
Your opinion is nullified from the fact u said something positive about the glowsquid
I wish they would add multiple Crab Species for different Biomes.
Also agree that some of the Biomes are really lacking in Bio Diversity.
Badlands and Savanna have nothing unique.
Rainforest has unique Animals but for a Rainforest it's really a tiny Amount of Species. Would love a Rainforest Update that adds either Orangutans or Lemurs and maybe Dingos which would act as a second Way to get Dogs
The frog was a mob vote mob and when it was revealed only had one variant. Why can’t there be a beach and ocean variants of the crab?
Also why are you playing devil’s advocate with the glow squid 😭
I found mad mangrove swamps they not rare
@@rustyshackleford234 wasn't the Frog Part of a Biome Vote?
8:28 but the crab is blue XD.
But in all seriousness. The claw would probably be similar to flint and steel. An item you can get that has a durability attach to it.
Edit also it should have a limit. I think up to 3 blocks should do it.
Obviously it won't give infinite block reach- nobody would benefit from accidentally placing blocks outside of render distance. I would guess the block reach would increase by somewhere between 1 and 10 blocks. I would prefer at least 1.5 blocks.
@@MoleculesAndMinecraft10 is over doing it I'd say max would be 3

i can see that being a thing however itd be the 1st passive flying mob that is in the game and isnt set off by a setting or by not sleeping. be the 1st of the flying passive mob kind.
Apparently they already had the model ready (there's an emote on the official MC Live discord server that shows the crab model)
The claw feature is nice but because they’re only in Mangrove swamps you’re hardly ever going run into them and once you do they become kind of useless after you get the claw.
idk if that would be completely how they spawn. from what i can take of it, it would be on the edge of islands and shores in which is close to a ocean biome. i think it may just be a premotional side ad to show they are in the mangrove swamp showing people of the last update for those who rarely keep up to date with minecraft.
I love the crab, but this is one of those mons that mojang should've just added to the game straight away instead of giving it a 1 out of 3 chance of winning a vote.
I would say its chances are higher than 1 in 3 (although I understand that wasn't your point). There's a less than 100% chance of all three mobs having a powerful QoL item. It's certainly possible that they will all be this cool, but I think it's more likely that the crab will be better (and thus maybe a little more likely to win, though ofc that's no guarantee) than at least one of the other mobs. Without seeing the other mobs, I would give the crab maybe a 40% chance to win at this time.
Exactly. This is just another example of them being lazy why couldn't they just choose from one of the spin off games and then base the mob vote around that?
Nah, boring mob.
Add actual BIRDS instead
Exactly, it should have been a bonus to the beaches and mangrove swamp just like the camel to the desert
@@Halo_Legend Thats bcs its in a mob vote. Mob votes make mons seem boring. But you add them straight to the game without even asking the community I guarantee no one would complain about it being boring. Look at Frogs and Axolotls. No one complains about them and they literally have next to no use at all.
LET US EAT THE CRAB!😋

@@rustyshackleford234 They will attack you if they have a child atleast lol
@@Polska_Editshonestly most animals would do that lmao
Crabs could also introduce new food into the game…
i can see that. quite a few options.
yeah placing blocks further away would be a slight QoL improvement, but unless we can get an inventory update soon I think it's not worth it unless the reach is really really big
I would say for me the reach would need to be at least 1.5 blocks to be worth it. It's interesting that you associate block reach with the inventory issue. We def need an inventory update, and enough people are asking that I'm guessing they're at least thinking about it. Bundles are one piece of the puzzle, increased invent slots and/or stack size would be a big help as well, and of course letting Bedrock players put more things in their offhand would be awesome as well.
i don't think it will be usefull since some of the blocks needs to be placed for the right angle so unless we also got a building update soon i think its not worth it unless the reach is really really big but most of the time they put things that might work in real life if the other mobs feels useless or annoying then i might vote for the crab though we just have to wait and see since its also hard to find a crab since they might only be in mangrove swamps
@@MoleculesAndMinecraft the reason I relate it to the inventory space is that it will be just another item that you will carry around with you. At this point, I don't even use Totems of Undying anymore because there's always something I'd like more in that slot, so every time I learn about a new item, I think about whether or not it's worth an inventory or hotbar slot
The crab claw could also mean we could likely water bucket clutch easier.
Big brain
Ifthe options are crab, jellyfish and seagull i think we might have a chance for a beach update and aquatic update 2.0

ToyCat when he realises the crab is blue: **surprise Pikachu**
Honestly I really want this in the game. As someone who works on bigger builds with a lot of vertical height, this would be a huge improvement. You have no idea how many times I wish scaffolding would just reach a little longer.
All I want is the Copper Golem but the crab is cute and seems like a good addition
copper golem would still be nice. it would feel like ur not alone in your home anymore on singleplayer worlds even when uve built away from villages and stuff. the very few times u dont get lonely in a minecraft world is when u own a pet or when a mob like a bee is hovering about collecting pollen nearby which makes it feel more lively. either than that in the overworld, there isnt many mobs which have set spawn locations.
I am intrigued by the claw, and excited for the next mob videos
I'll of course wait for the other mobs to be revealed, but as someone who makes a lot of big builds in minecraft, the crab claw could be really cool! I hope it will work as a piece of armour or in the off-hand slot. Personally the most annoying thing for me is not being able to build more than three blocks down when you're high up somewhere.
see im not much of a bog builder myself. ive been around since before laiz was added to the game including the enchantment table however ive never really been too good at building and i hate leeching off designs from videos and will only accept inspiration from videos to make my builds as id rather have my builds be unique to me.
i see something like the crab claw just a crutch item only for specific scenarios of when u need it. crossing ravines, building and a few tiny other details that might even include extra reach for mining. although itd be nice to have the crab as a passive mob in the game, id prefer the other two mobs like the jellyfish and seagull just because they are more unique mobs to have while exploring minecraft worlds.
Definitely the claw will be obtained similarly to when a turtle grows.
I’m still hoping for Ducks.💕🦆 💕
Perhaps it’s a mob added in base 1.21???
If it is an end update, this would be so useful for the end islands.
If they made it so the crabs drop crab meat then id like it a lot more, they really need a lot more food options
"Don't vote blue no matter who" WHAT DO YOU MEAN! THE CRAB IS BLUE?!?! LOL
Due to the recent videos of yours, the jellyfish seems super likely. It would probably give you the ability to easily craft torches that function underwater. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Maybe they’d drop some sort of gel that can cover the torches?
mmm idk. jellyfish arnt all deepwater fish and very few jellyfish light up in dark areas of water or are luminescent. jellyfish are far more common to be see through type creatures and hard to find in minecraft without some maybe slight electrical static coming from its tenticles. unless the jellyfish has a duration period which can go in and out of invisibility but leaves a bubble trace of where it swam to, it might be a hard one to figure out its function and reason for being added into minecraft.
The crab claw could be an off hand item which might encourage mojang to implement better bedrock offhand
the achievement for placing a block with a crab claw should be titled "Crab Experiments"
good for you if you get the reference
I have 3 features that need to be added to the crab:
1) a crab rave feature. need i say anymore?
2) Krabby Patties, crafted from crab claws (or smth else) with 2 bread. if not a recipe (after all, who knows what the recipe is), it should at least be an item, perhaps from ocean ruins
3) deep ocean crabs. there are crabs which live at the bottom of the ocean like the Japanese Spider Crab, which look absolutely terrifying. the ocean just doesn't feel scary enough and I think they could make a giant crab variant which is about the size of a hoglin and is neutral.
The Crab claws also have the potential to revolutionize PVP. obviously there's some logistics to be sorted out, but having a hand-mounted item strapped to your arm could change a lot of other things. if it's in your off-hand, you could use it as some sort of defensive tool which could be used in place of a shield. If they decide to add an entire armor slot for something like this, this could open up a TON of possibilities. gauntlets, knuckle-dusters, or an easy access weapon without the need for more inventory space. we already know Mojang is willing to add these sorts of weapons bc they added them to MC Dungeons. Yes ik it sounds like i want to turn MC into 'Murica, but if they balance it out, it has the potential to be really fun for all sides.
If they choose Crab, would there be different varients in the future? Like there are those with slender long legs underwater and those that are small and make sand balls while eating the sand
Prob not, but sand crabs are super adorable and would be a great addition for like a mod or something. Jumping spiders would pair well with that. It could be the ridiculously cute animals mod.
different colours maybe. just like with the tropical fish where there were thousands of patterns shapes and colours, i can see there being a chance for slight differences however altercations wise not many. lile 8 total.
So I really hope that the Crab Claw doesn’t become yet another tool to carry around. I think that is what makes things like Goat Horns and the Spyglass not get much use because players value their inventory slots too much to use them on such niche items.
I think that Mojang should implement it so that you use the Anvil to combine a Tool with the Crab Claw to give the tool the added reach ability. It would be like adding the Reach Enchantment to the tool, but make it so that this “enchantment” is only obtained through using Crabs and not through Enchantment Books or the Enchanting Table.
The other way to go would be to make it so that you use Crab Claws to create a “ Reach Beacon “ that you place on the ground and it gives all players the added reach ability within a certain range.
Either way, this is a good start to the mob vote. Hopefully we continue to get lots of good information to work with so that players can make the most informed decision possible.
ive grown to like the spyglass overtime. i once thought that it wasnt going to be that useful but overtime i make it to look and search for things long distance. i dont go around all the time with every tool and i dont usually ever make shears or flint and steel and go around with that either so for me at least, it would also fit along side the more unused tools regardless. i prefer the slow state of building and am fine with the 5 block reach we currently have.
That final piece of advise is a good rule to live by in and out of Minecraft.
One thing about these mob votes is that they can be less about the mobs and more about the mechanics that should be (and potentially will be) added regardless. Longer reach (if implemented well) is incredibly useful. The sniffer matches the archeology theme. Chest boats are more useful in oceans than just swamps. The Great Hunger eating enchantments was added in the form of a grindstone. The Rascal's early game rewards, like an enchanted pickaxe, can be lumped onto the Wandering Trader. Mobs spawning in absolute darkness pretty much makes the Glare obsolete.
I always look forward to your videos, I can’t wait to watch this one.
These have a very ocean theme to em if these are true. So maybe its another water themed update with more structures and uses for the underwater.
Last year kinda hinted at an archaeology update… and we got it!
I believe 1.21 will be Nature-ambience update.
@@lookash3048 This has been the theme since 1.19
@@darkonyx6995 Is it? I didn't notice 😉
MOJANG talked a lot about ambience and exploring the world and they produced the series "The great wild" about different biomes, so I believe that those may be hints of this year update.
I think they should use the crab claw for a potion of long reach that gives you better reach.
They show it walking on top of the water. That is very interesting and unique, assuming it isn't merely an artistic liberty.
its not walking on water sadly, there is a block in the background that it is walking on which is very hard to see and there are also some lilly pads.
New and original Idea: Add everything instead of a vote. Thinking smart and putting in actual work rather than taking 1-3 years for minor things.
EDIT: Voting for some mob is barely community involvement. How about actually doing more than that? Bedrock and Java can play games together with certain mods, coding, etc. Why not do something with that? There's so much things other than some terrible mob vote and pathetic updates.
Right? They should be votes on the order in which they are added, not if they will be 🤦♂️
Controversial idea: I disagree. Mob vote is just a way to make community feel involved (which I personally enjoy) and if I were to guess, without those votes we wouldn't be getting any of those mobs, because mojang wouldn't feel a need to bother coming up with them.
The Mob Vote is a cancer that continues to effect Minecraft to this day, it needs to be stopped, because as of now it's been free to suck potential features and additions away from Minecraft without anyone standing in it's way.
Bro that’s too hard remember Microsoft is a small indie company they don’t have the resources to add more than 1 mob a year
@@Ilit015how are we involved when they rig them like this?
When will they start adding legit new bosses, or new dimensions other than the 3 we got now?
When they are done with the stuff they have already they’ve said this like 3000 times
They hired the Aether guy just to do nothing with that. They could at least update the end. Netherite needs to be tied into game progression rather than feeling like an optional bonus. They could add blocks that require netherite to break and a strong new boss hopefully with good loot.
fairly certain the mechanic to actually get the crab claw will be similar to turtles dropping scute. Due to crabs molting in real life, I imagine it'd be called a molt as it grows from baby to adult and consequently drops its old claw
While I don’t think the crab claw is that good, I have thought of some alternative uses for it which might be helpful. However, we have no idea how much of a distance the crab claw will extend, it could extend it by three blocks and we wouldn’t even know, so we have no way of knowing if this will actually be useful. I was thinking that it couldn’t just be used for mining, but also combat. The player could place & ignite tnt from far away, burn their friends using lava, easily use a water bucket to stop fall damage, and easily place ladders. These are just a few ideas and we have know idea if it would be implemented like this. Regardless, I’m still not going to vote for the crab because it isn’t useful enough.
Wheres the vote for all the above button? Surely they could do it?
Too much work
Minecraft will make us arbitrarily choose between 3 simple mobs again! Yippee!
simple yet affective. all 3 mobs will grow on people overtime. just like the glow squid. the glow squid was a nice addition to minecraft for when u relaxed and chilled out instead of constantly having plans on what to do in the game.
even for me when id go in caves, id stop at times just to watch the axolotls and glow squids ecspecially in lush caves just thrive and swim about id take my time to watch them just do there thing. for me, minecraft has become less of a task or goal to set and more of an exlerience and just watching nature do its thing but in minecraft. there are mobs that deter thos but seeing stuff like the bees thrive and make honey or the glow squids swim about or the tropical fish is just so cool to see.

Crab: Hello I’m ibxtoycat…
People still need to consider a few things. 1: Is this only for placing blocks down? If so then mining and weapon based attacking makes it much less useful. 2: The rarity of finding mangrove vs just going to a shipwreck and getting bamboo within the 1st five mins of playing a world for scaffolding. 3: If it's only a single block radius increase, is it really worth using over scaffolding or other blocks? 4: will the crab drop a food item as well as the claw if gotten by killing.
toycat: who wants to hurt themselves? not me, that's for sure!

An idea for what a theoretical jellyfish could offer: Jellyfish sting you. There is precedent for mobs to use potion effects in special ways, like the creeper. What if the jellyfish remembers potion effects it is subject to just like that and when you're stung by it you receive that potion effect? Assuming you can use a bucket to capture them, that could be.. interesting.

So don't vote for the crab since it's blue? Ok, thanks, will do! lol
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. There shouldn't be a mob vote. All 3 mobs should be implemented into the game. The more variety, the better.
The last 4 mob votes all had really amazing options. Had everything been implemented, all of the updates would have been much more substantial
Thanks for informing the community, I have to see the other mobs and what they do, we can already reach pretty far. I just hope a mob wins again only for looks.
Just wondering if the crab claw could be a potion ingredient so that you can have the effect for a limited amount of time. It would make you go back and get more of them.
The first one is so good. Extra placement range. I wonder how good the other 2 will be
How many times have I wished that i had longer block-placing reach when building a large wall, ladder-way, or bubble column elevators & drop chutes. Very useful stuff imo. The other mobs are gunna have to have some really cool stuff to beat that
@5:01 "who wants to hurt themselves? Not me, that's for sure"

bigger block reach is nice, but it sounds like it only works for when placing blocks, if it works for breaking blocks, it can be very helpful with mining too, including if you still do strip mining
I think it's safe to assume the claw will go in your off hand
Longer reach is HUGE for vertical walls. Right now you can look down and place 3 below. I know this because I have spent countless hours backfilling terrain 3 layers at a time
I hope they make seagulls that you can become friends with and they'll stop stealing your stuff, but they'll swoop down and carry away baby zombies!
They really should add a grappling hook that lets you hang on walls. Its a no brainer quality of life addition that would make mobility so much better.
Yeah, I could see a crab claw being very useful for those of us that like building big structures or farms - especially one ones that float way above the ground or water. I suppose the key will be exactly _how_ much further way are we talking? 1 or 2 blocks or even more? Especially if it is an off-hand passive ability - or as an armor slot (glove?). Initially, I was unimpressed until they revealed the crab claw item and ability.
I wonder what superpower the seagull would have? Crap on your enemies? That's not a snowball. LOL
The crab claw adds some interesting implications for PvP, placing cobwebs, lava buckets, and explosives like end crystals and respawn anchors will receive a buff!
True but it will probably go in the spot for shields and totom sooo
There are many situations where one would prefer the extra range to a shield or totem
I had a pet crab once, and it was a baby. When it grew up, its big claw fell off and a new one grew. I’m guessing this is how the crab claw would be obtained, kind of like the baby turtle. I don’t think Mojang would want players killing the crab, and they like adding realism.
Okay so in the trailer it said they were lost right? I think the most obvious thing they could do is have seagulls spawn above the ocean and maybe if you feed them a fish they'll lead you to a specific biome or just take you right back to land
It sounds a little underwhelming but a way they could make it more interesting is that if you tame the pet maybe it can instead point you to where you last slept
Basically being an early game compass/loadstone that is less customisable cause it'll always take you back to where you slept and would be useless in the other dimensions
That is if the leak is real of course
Plus adding real life animals as mobs gives them more time to plan on the implementation of that mob
After so many years of votes I think it would be cool if for one year it was just 3 new mobs we are adding.
Imagine instead of picking one, we can get hyped about all these new features being added
I’m pretty sure crabs are an obstacle during baby turtles that are on there way to the water
Yes
A good BLUE mob, mojang knows what their doing
For 2B2T players: having this extra reach probably means you could place Respawn Anchors, prime them, and then detonate them from a further distance, minimizing damage dealt to yourself.
What Mojang should REALLY do, is bundle votes!
Where it's kinda like a cross between the biome votes and mob votes.
So 3 options, each with a few different features, like the biome votes, but only it doesn't have to be all for a biome!
i can see very specific and situational scenarios where the crab claw would come in handy for sure however atm, its not something i will pick as of right now. i would assume the jellyfish would also have a use and at a guess would be something id likely go for as a vote. i cant see the seagull being a wide picked thing however of its able to fly and perch, even on tortoises shells, i think it would turn some heads because we dont have a passive or neutral mob yet which flies and is active enough within the overworld.
from what i can tell though is these mobs are coastal mobs. they live close enough to the shore or live on the shore. lastly id want to say that for next years mob vote we should get a choice of 3 birds in the votes or have it as a side update with bird nests or being able to make a bird house within the update.
Crab already looks solid, But a seagull even though very annoying, Would be nice because theres little to no birds in this game.
I think it would be cool if the jellyfish is going to be the next mob to be announced, its special feature could be something called conductive gel and which one combined Redstone allows for vertical placement that word help a lot of people
i was genuinely shocked when people in the comments of the insta post were saying how the claws funtion isnt enough, as if the crab isnt one of the strongest entries for a mob vote ever, id rather the crab than a walking item frame
