For PS4 owners. never buy a game when its Unreal Engine. They only make good graphips for PC. Its easy to make 4K HDR perfect on PS4 Pro. Gran Tourismo Sport, Battlefield 1, which graphically is FAR more complicated that MotoGp 2018. Horizon Zero dawn and a lot more. Unreal engine is pure shit for everybody else than PC. And few'er and few'er PC gamers. Bad decition. I was looking forward to further improvements to the game. Now its 2 generations back. I will never buy a Milestone or Unreal engine game again, unless they in the blink of an eye make a perfect 4K HDR update to the game. Trash!! Btw i have now bought a xbox one x and dropped Motogp. A far better machine than the ps 4 pro. I amuse myself with Forza 7 in real 4k and HDR. photorealistic or better

Great video. Love the way the bikes move around under the rider now especially the Moto2 bikes. Online is going to be a lot more fun now with off track being a crash instead of a shortcut haha.

Its easy to make perfect 4K HDR even in more complicated games, like Battlefield one, but Unreal Engine can or will not. Discount cartoon game for PS4 gamers!!! Probably x box too. They could at least have made 2K HDR 60 FPS or 4K HDR 30 fps then the gamers could choose them selves. But i think in an uncomplicated game graphically like MotoGp they could easy make 4K HDR 60 fps. Maybe Microsoft have an influence here. Seeing that both PC and x box on the retreat because of PS4, but do not spit the largest gamer group in the face! Please update. Now!!

I appreciate the fact you ride with decent lines and are pretty consistent. The riding on some videos is terrible and makes it hard to tell how the bikes ride. One thing I noticed is the first crack of throttle seems pretty abrupt. Is this you being a bit rough with the first 5% throttle or is it not possible to crack it open smoothly in the game?
I really like the way it seems to handle now: instead of having the bike leaning at determined angles depending on the joystick, now with the weight control of the rider it seems that the bike leans in a more flowing manner. The graphics look much better (that wet weather was stunning). I don't own MotoGP 17, only Valentino Rossi: The Game, but buying one of these every 2 years seems reasonable. Looking forward to buying this game and destroying my finals grades

The biggest issue I had with MotoGP 17, was the braking. It felt like when you hit the brakes, nothing was happening.... no actual sensation of loosing speed. I hope this has changed with18’

I've noticed that if you have auto tuck in on, and you push forward on the left stick while tucked in, it will cancel it out for some reason. Really annoying because I have always had a habit of pushing the the left stick forward when playing racing games.
For the consoles, it’s not an improvement if they had to cut the frame rate from 60 to 30. For racing games, frame rate is imperative so while 18 does look better and more realistic, I think I’d still prefer 17 (on consoles) since its running at 60fps allegedly.
I might be wrong, but I don't think there's a single Milestone game that runs at 60fps on console. Quite a shame, because their gameplay is solid. Still a fan of this studio though.

Actually, i'm envy why the publisher this game not THQ like motoGP 2 (2003) Because i really like gesture of powerslide like the real motoGP on TV. Since game motoGP handled by Milestones… on motoGP 2013 and now… i can't find the real gesture gameplay of motoGP when powerslide… like motoGP 2 by THQ. It's my opinion.

I think (I hope) that the low quality graphics on the "vanilla" PS4 and xbox one consoles will be improved with a patch update. I think, like many of their other releases, motogp 18 has been rushed out by Milestone. No surprise there then really is there? What desperately needs to be done is for the development team to optimise the graphics on the consoles. But don't expect miracles..Unreal Engine 4 on a standard PS4 will at best I think look similar to motogp17. It's interesting as I also have this game on pc now (as well as PS4) and even on my ageing gaming pc motogp18 looks pretty good. Not futuristic but pretty good. The difference being that it seems to have been quite well optimised this time around for pc. If Milestone can manage the same thing for the standard PS4 & xbox one consoles I think you will be much happier with things. It just needs optimising imho. But the physics are a separate issue Johannes as serven says.. For me the physics, having now got used to them, are a major improvement over motogp17 which for me was very dumbed down and lacklustre in its physics..which is why for the last 12 months I have been doing my bit to help produce a simulation physics mod for the pc version of motogp17. ;)

Was a bit taken back by the graphics in 18 , but you can tell by the side by side comparison its not that bad. they are definitely going to update it ( as per a Milestone FB post today) I think that at least a lil of the hate is because we love the game so much and milestones bike games in general that we set the bar high in anticipation. 17 appears more realistic with washed out pavement . 18 looks like its trying to hard to make colors seem darker...i will say 17 does need just a bit of contrast and shade reduction to make it look even better in game settings...probably can do the same in 18 to make it look as good as 17.
kinda late but yeah :D Motogp18 Cons: no 60 FPS on consoles Body-Movement in the corners doesnt look right sometimes..looks like the old-school driving style Bodytype looks too fat(or its just how the feet and arms are positioned compare to 17) no Manager-Career-Mode little too dark mostly when its sunny Pros: rain looks waay better more helmets numbers look big enough on the bikes sound improved My Wish for 19: Cons need to improve for sure(mostly FPS because i would play on PS4 but i didnt bought 18 cause of the FPS) Manager Career-Mode needs to get back in (i also want more Sponsors in when i create my own team not just 3 in each Class..but i think thats a License thing) more aggressive AI(hold on when they get attacked or when they go for a move themself)
Yeah it has a nice improvment but the crashes are still a litle bit unrealystic, because sometines the motorbike literally flies and the riders look like a real ragdoll because they have no reactions

It’s looks great in the wet, biggest improvement by far! (The tail light reflection needs patching though as it’s way too far forward at times.) 👍🏼

I haven’t played 17, but on my Xbox One the graphics are terribly blurry.

Apart from the graphics and animation, the way the camera moves and gently lays down with the driver makes a big difference

On PC I would say 17 holds up better against 18 especially in the wet but that in house engine had given everything it could.
I dont understand why they use that big texture of the surface of tracks ? They should use something with much lower dimensions

I back the bike in on MotoGP 17 in moto2, not quite like in 18 but yano hahah :p
The quickshifter sound on moto gp 18 is much much better.
17 appears more realistic with washed out pavement . 18 looks like its trying to hard to make colors seem darker...i will say 17 does need just a bit of contrast and shade reduction to make it look even better in game settings...probably can do the same in 18 to make it look as good as 17.

no 60 FPS on consoles
Body-Movement in the corners doesnt look right sometimes..looks like the old-school driving style
Bodytype looks too fat(or its just how the feet and arms are positioned compare to 17)
no Manager-Career-Mode
little too dark mostly when its sunny
Pros:
rain looks waay better
more helmets
numbers look big enough on the bikes
sound improved
My Wish for 19:
Cons need to improve for sure(mostly FPS because i would play on PS4 but i didnt bought 18 cause of the FPS)
Manager Career-Mode needs to get back in (i also want more Sponsors in when i create my own team not just 3 in each Class..but i think thats a License thing)
more aggressive AI(hold on when they get attacked or when they go for a move themself)

Yeah it has a nice improvment but the crashes are still a litle bit unrealystic, because sometines the motorbike literally flies and the riders look like a real ragdoll because they have no reactions
