As someone who used to own a 2 by 2 ghost cube, I could relate to some of these. My least favorite things that ever happened to it was when someone scrambled it knowing that I couldn't solve it yet, and when someone dropped it, and broke it after I did manage to solve it.

It's not even a parity thing, pretty sure there is no parity issues on a 3x3. Afaik this can happen if you're solving really fast and randomly twist it during an algorithm, but I'm not fast enough a solver to do it
@@Kasiarzynka There are. If you twist a corner, solving it will leave a corner twisted. If I scramble a cube, it can always be solved. If I twist a corner, it’s impossible without retwisting it. This can be further confirmed by the Bluetooth cube. If I twist a corner, I will not be allowed to calibrate it like that. It’ll say “Oops, looks like a corner has been twisted!” And won’t be solvable until I twist the corner back and resolve it so I can calibrate it. 3x3x3 does have parity issues.
The people I know say "muddle it up" and my younger sister (11) always says "I can solve it TOO - it will just take me a long time!" She knows that you can eventually solve it by turning it randomly but she doesn't know that the "long time" is like a year
for all non cubers, we find a solution that is completely different from the scramble, so if you turn 543,667,123,223 times, we can solve it in 31 moves
Considering we use algorithms in cubing to solve them, and use algorithms in math for the same purpose, we technically could say that solving the cube is math.
The entire puzzle and the solutions falls within discrete mathematics, set theory and combinatorics in particular. You're not really thinking actively that what you're doing is mathematics usually though, and especially if you haven't encountered the relevant sub fields to any degree, but it isn't wrong to say that it is.

I thought it'll be hard for me then cause I'm not good in math at all, instead I excel in arts which is kinda the opposite of math. 6 is half true, you can actually solve it through math. You have plane algorithms, and you have mathematical algorithms. Both can be used to solve a Rubik’s Cube.

I then brought my 7x7 and let them scramble it. @LIXOUALeBg when you are solving as fast as some people do it can get caught and flipped. I've done it myself and it's pretty easy to do with speed cubes since they're inherently looser
idk what it is but people have an irresistible urge to touch the things you own. Some ask, some don't, but for whatever reason there's always people who want to use your cube.
Once, in middle school, I lent my cube to someone. Then, after a few minutes, I saw kids kicking and crushing little cubes around all over the playground. I was in denial thinking surely it was someone else's cube. Turns out they played ball with my cube, it fell, broke, and they figured they might as well have fun with the remains. No one even bothered telling me before I went to ask about it. It was the worst, but not the first nor last time I lent my my cube and got it back broken. Until I resolved never to lend a cube to anyone again.

We don't reverse the scrambles. We just know how to move the pieces in place.

@LIXOUALeBg when you are solving as fast as some people do it can get caught and flipped. I've done it myself and it's pretty easy to do with speed cubes since they're inherently looser
Will never understand people who think they need to use all their night and force and whole hands to turn the cube
idk what it is but people have an irresistible urge to touch the things you own. Some ask, some don't, but for whatever reason there's always people who want to use your cube.
Once, in middle school, I lent my cube to someone. Then, after a few minutes, I saw kids kicking and crushing little cubes around all over the playground. I was in denial thinking surely it was someone else's cube. Turns out they played ball with my cube, it fell, broke, and they figured they might as well have fun with the remains. No one even bothered telling me before I went to ask about it. It was the worst, but not the first nor last time I lent my my cube and got it back broken. Until I resolved never to lend a cube to anyone again.
