Love how the entire talk about the most successfully sociable people speech was just a full montage of Kim the whole time
She is the best social player ever. One World cast was basically Kim Spradlin's fan club. Everybody wanted to be Kim's bff and even when she brutally backstabbed her alliance’s member (Kat, Alicia, Jay) they still loved her. Best winner ever.

andy is kinda overrated because he wasn’t in the driving force (helen and amanda were). he just floated. She is the Derrick of big brother
as a brazilian myself, I can definitely say that Abi's problem/attitude wasn't a cultural thing, she was just a mean, kind of clueless, girl and that's it, but it was fun to watch her though :P

I imagined ppl from Brazil hating her because she just blamed her being a shitty person on being Brazilian. I have known numerous people from Brazil and they are all some of the nicest ppl I have met. It had nothing to do with culture and was entirely due to her just sucking as a person.
She was such great tv. Would love to have her back

Ida Pettersson According to Stephen Tyson coach and most of the cast she was annoying and useless at camp
I really liked her too but apparently she was even more annoying and useless than what was shown.
I like her as well and she was even top 3 in most likable players that season. Wish she would have replaced Candice/Sugar on HvV for the Heroes tribe

A lot of people don't recognize what a key part Sierra was to the trajectory of Tocantins.
I feel that Sierra from season 18 wasn't so much of a social pariah as the rest of her tribe mates being bullies. They lied about her and treated her awful... I could never figure out why.

I think it's because Coach decided to sacrifice her to advance his own game. For someone who didn't hesitate to use GOD and lied left and right to manipulate people, railroading cierra wasn't a big deal. Also, the power of religion have it's own sway, so the rest of the tribe just followed their glorified leader Coach
I loved Sierra R (the original Survivor Sierra, at that). Apparently she was all set to come back as a Hero on HvV, but offscreen she'd gotten engaged to one of the producers! That's why Candice was brought in to that tribe as a replacement.

If u only have extremely good social game u can win Survivor, if you only have extremely good physical game u can get to final 3,if u only have an extremely good strategic game u have a good highlight video or final 3 at best
Yup, Sierra definitely played a great bottom up game. Sandra and Aubry too, come to mind quickly
Eliza Orlins was on the bottom both of her seasons; in Vanuatu she managed to get herself to the final four, while in Micronesia it was a different story. Glad she made the jury though, as those reactions were priceless.

I was expecting to see Sugar she literally turned exile island into her own house, which she dubbed the sugar shack, granted production built it tho but she still made it to finals…not to mention that when she came back for another season without exile she was so annoying she got voted out first I believe. Wow being a social outcast actually saved her game lol
The treatment of Alecia in Season 32 was appalling and disturbing.

A few more people I would mention. Angelina (DvsG), Scott and Jason (KR), Dawn (Caramoan), Ken (MvsGX), Will (WA), Gervase (BvsW), Ja Tia and Kass (Cagayan). Also regarding Russell I would say that he was social pariah every time he’s played.

I'd put Ben Driebergen up there as well, his win was very similar to Mike Holloway's in that he only made it the distance because of literally being safe

like the history of showmances and how they effected their games
Rob and Amber are embedded forever in my mind. All stars was the first season I ever watched, and I fell in love with their gameplay and love story. It's insane that after so long, they are still happily married and have four kids. Survivor helped make that happen. And we all got to see it unfold. It's beautiful💜

@@drewcoyle5223 There are a lot of survivor couples too. Rob and Amber, whitney and Keith, Jaime and erik, parvati and john, ethan and jenna m were together for years, ozzy and amanda for a few years, joe and sierra are dating now, Sebastian and jenna from ghost island
Dewy C. With BB, that is probably only factoring the US version as Canada has had their share of showmances and successful ones at that.

There is a topic I wish you could discuss with your opinions or even information and statistics : Do you have a better chance of winning the final vote being an underdog on the outs, or being the top dog, controlling most of the votes? I see this a lot and lately I feel underdogs have been given wins. What do you think?

I feel like Sherri is such a underrated player, if it wasn’t a fans vs favorites season I think she would’ve done a lot better.
I was rooting SO HARD for Sherri and I honestly think she could've gotten far had it not been for Shamari's medivac and the trash performance of the Fans tribe

Just saw this on Reddit and wanted to share: what about a Best Moves in Challenges video? for example: Penner pulling all the balls out of the mud in his first run to make the game easier. It would be great!
Christina from One World should also be included! No one seemed to like her (some even less than others) and she was just seen as completely disposable. Heck, she was even told to jump into the fire. I felt so bad for her watching the way she was treated. She seemed like such a truly nice girl and everyone just despised her for what appeared to be no reason. Even through swaps and merges she was never able to gain really any footing at all socially no matter how hard she tried. Watching the way she was treated was comparable to Alecia’s treatment in Kaoh Rong in my eyes, except she made it much further into the game, though solely because she was a number for difference alliances that wanted power. She was just seen as a free vote instead of a friend
Great video. I don't think that a person who is uncomfortable socially can quickly transform into a social butterfly without being seen as fake. I do think that someone can learn not to be so socially awkward that they become an easy vote out early because performance has not been seen or alliances have been developed.
I would so much rather be on survivor then in high school.

The difference in Cochran's games can be summed up one one word: Ozzy. Ozzy single handely made Cochran a pariah because he only respects challenge strength and in Redemption Island he had significant social influence being a legend and the only returning player on the tribe, had Ozzy not been there I think you'd have seen a game much closer to his second run.
could have been a factor too but I think Cochran also simply played a much better game in Caramoan. it's certainly true tho that the composition of his tribe in S23 didn't help him at all.
Do a "underrated first timers" episode like one time players that had potential but was bamboozled like Sherry or that woman in the first FvF.
Russell was doomed the second he got on the beach for Redemption Island. His reputation was already set in stone and there was no way of him changing that in the game.

I’ve always found him interesting to watch particularly his confessionals. He’s a great narrator.

The same thing with fans vs favorites 2. Francesca was considered a favorite even though she was eliminated first. Another thing is how come on rankings of every player of all time she isn’t in last place
@@marksoucek1820 Ironically Francesca was voted out first in FvF because her tribe-mates felt like she was TOO good of a player - and therefore too dangerous to keep around. Boston Rob got rid of her first in RI because she was one of the few people on the tribe who he couldn't get under his spell.

If I was on survivor, there's a chance I'd be a social pariah. I'm on the autism spectrum so socialiazion does not come easy for me. I can make friends, but if I was on a tribe full of jock and cheerleader types, I'd be SOL!

I miss Tarzan in the list of main social pariahs.
And maybe even another winner - Bob Crowley. He was kind of liked and respected as a competitor, but socially, he was on the outs from the beginning to the end.
even though Wendy was a outcast she was still enjoyable to me and the chicken one made me laugh and see how she cares abt nature :)
I just love how the chickens are an actual story line and keep popping up, rather than just being some one-off thing.

Late to the party but... how about Pariah alliances?? In Edge of Extinction, Reem got yelled at for moving people's clothes, Kieth almost drowned, and even though Wendy's story was much more uplifting, she expressed comfort and confidence despite being inherently "different." And suddenly all three felt drawn to each other in an alliance of people whose only joining factor was misfit status. It may have been the most doomed alliance in recent memory.
I feel like Marthinus from Survivor SA6 needed a shout out 🔥.

I wonder what can be said of people made pariahs for basically no fault of their own. Like Erika being a pariah at merge episode (ok maybe she can be blamed for targeting Sydney but still). And Edna being a pariah at final 6 just because she wasnt part of a group on the beach on first night. dont think anyone had problems with Edna, she just wasnt at that first meeting where the majority alliance was set up
there’s nothing more frustrating then being in a boring class, and you see a new Peridiam video. never has an hour felt longer in my life!

I'd say the difference is the people in that endgame didn't seem to personally dislike Ben or have anything against him even if they wanted him out

I actually feel like Sierra wasn't a social pariah at all. She started out at the bottom, and managed to keep herself around over Candace and Jerry. I also distinctly remember that Erinn would have gone before Sierra had timbira gone to another tribal council. Even characters that have had a lot of confrontations like Coach said they really grew to like Sierra. Idk, maybe it was just the edit she got due to being an underdog but Sierra wasn't a pariah to me
What about Sebastian for Ghost Island? I would actually forget about him cause he wasn’t in an alliance, never got screen time, and was never spoken to at tribals. He was a huge outcast

More recently, Island of the Idols with Karishma, who wasn't an outcast but thought she was, till she ended up making herself one.
Little did you know we’d see Karishma, one of the biggest pariahs in Survivor history, on season 39.

I would say Brian Heidik from Survivor Thailand can be considered as a pariah. He's very emotionless and had very few people that can actually get along with him, plus he's also a very unique winner from Survivor. I did like how he didn't show much emotion but was able to mesh well with few allies that can take him to the end. But when it comes to the vast majority, Brian isn't the first one to be sociable with from how I see it. I mean the guy was a bit awkward when he got a video tape of his wife in his season. I could be wrong about what I think of Brian, but that is how I saw him.

I think at the beginning it was mainly social, but now its about strategy. I doubt the most liked person in the casts win Survivor anymore. Look at David in MvGX and Christian in DvG.

It's still social. Ever since the very season the "most liked" person usually doesn't make it to the end if it's well-known how much they're liked. Kathy in Marquesas, Lex in Africa, Rudy in Borneo, Elisabeth in the Australian Outback. You don't have to be the most likable person in the entire cast, just more likable than the people sitting next to you on Day 39.
ThePuppetMaster The most liked person always wins, that’s how it should be. Whoever gets the jury’s respect deserves the win. That will never change, no matter how hard Jeff tries to change it.
Carlos Vargas I don’t get why fans don’t understand that. You don’t have to play the most aggressive game, just get to the end with people who are less liked. That’s why ‘bitter juries’ imo don’t exist.
I would absolutely 100% be the pariah if I ever went on Survivor, just because I'm so introverted. I don't like hanging around people that much, and if I see anything that resembles a clique of "cool kids," my instincts are to avoid them like the plague. That's why I'd never do Survivor. I know my limitations.
As long as you're not extremely annoying, you can still play as a goat that the winner takes to the end. You won't win but third place still gets good prize money.
