AZ built a machine to resurrect it, but it used the life force of all pokemon in the war and became a weapon. The weapon granted the ressurected Floette and AZ immortality, but the Floette was disgusted by his actions and left him. Only after 3000 years the Floette returned to AZ.

Also, great video! I've been dying to find out some of the tricks that they used, especially Lumiose City.

Maaaaaaaan, I love x and y. They’re such amazing games, and even though it’s not graphically the most intense, I absolutely love the way this game looks. Way more than any other game in the series actually. And that music? Just beautiful. I also really love the Pokémon designs from this generation, and the story of the ultimate weapon was so cool. The settings were so amazing, and mega evolutions were half the reason I picked up Pokémon again. Easily my favorite game in the series.

I absolutely loved the edgyness of the "big pokemon powered plasma cannon of mass destruction" story, but somehow, something was just.. missing. Maybe the fact that the team's design and their objective didn't really fit together as well.

Fun fact about battle backgrounds: Some of those 2D objects in battles can actually be interacted with. If you use a specific move in battle and defeat the Pokemon, the object will break and you will receive an item. These items and the moves required depend on the type of object. For example, Berry trees require the use of moves like Air Cutter and rocks need Rock Smash. This is never actually hinted at during the game, so I never knew about this feature until I looked it up on Bulbapedia. These background objects only appear in X and Y, and are one of the few sources of items like Luminous Moss.

being the first 3DS pokemon I always find XY the most visualy pleasing. It went crazy with camera angles, zooms, backgrounds and animations, and is one of my favourites of the franchise, only behind Gen IV out of gameplay and Gen III because of the nostalgia.

Pokemon Grey and Z: Never forgetti. At least bw2 ending up being amazing. XY may be my least favorite main series games that I've played but I would rather give Z justice finally rather than what it looks we're getting now...
Yeah.... Z would have been interesting, since I feel it could have helped flesh out the world of X and Y, which was ok but really dull and needed some polish like Gen 4 had with Platinum. Plus Zygarde basically got shafted and didn't get to play a major role in the games (and was set to Sun and Moon as a collectable).

I've played Pokémon since it hit my territory and for the decades it's been here, I didn't fall in love with a particular entry until X and Y. When they get their remakes however far away from now it is, I'll be aiming to relive the experiences I had back in 2013. It was such a moving experience.

It's only been 5-6 years since I got the game but the music and visuals of this video gave me a LOT of nostalgia feelings...... and the zoom-ins on the character models just prove even more that GameFreak should've never abandoned this style after just one generation. When I first got to explore Lumiose City, I was super impressed with how asbolutely huge it was. Similarly, I always thought the Chamber of Emptiness was a missed opportunity and that it was the perfect place to hide a Legendary. I do wonder what the afforementioned chamber looks like while out-of-bounds.
the work you'd be looking for is skybox rather than 'biome', it denotes the name given to a bounding box/dome of environment detail making the scene feel bigger than it is, normally the parts in this are flat planes with matte painting textures warped to give a sense of 3d space or low poly meshes with textures to represent structures. 3D skyboxes are also in this grouping, they are made to surround the playable area and match the level of detail in the stage but extend outside to again give a sense of a larger environment.
It just hit me how impressive it is that Nintendo made it possible for the player to move the camera around in Sword and Shield. They have to model everything now. That’s a lot more man-hours than any other game before. Is it any wonder they cut down the dex?
I miss the 3ds days... like 2011-2017. Those were the days. I love the switch but playing Pokémon y and tomodachi life are my favorites. Tomodachi for switch!

One of the best (ongoing) series' on youtube! Cheats/trainers, glitches, unreleased alphas/betas and decompiled game files got me interesting in game development and ultimately software development as a whole, which is what I do for a living today.
Whatever was used to edit the game visuals for this game capture makes the art style pop more and it's all so much more fit in my books. Everything looks even more sketched and painted in. It's gorgeous. Fits the painted canvas style that they seemed to go with.

Torcoal seems like a pretty smart design choice. It's basically a 2D mask that forms a cloud but seamlessly morphs into the 3D object coming from Torcoal's back. It's pretty bizarre, but I guess it was necessary if they wanted to preserve Torcoal's original concept. :)

This episode was really special to me. Pokemon X was the first pokemon game I finished a few years ago. It's just amazing to see how everything works in the game. A lot of the games you cover, are ones I haven't played

Pokemon Grey and Z: Never forgetti. At least bw2 ending up being amazing. XY may be my least favorite main series games that I've played but I would rather give Z justice finally rather than what it looks we're getting now...

Yeah.... Z would have been interesting, since I feel it could have helped flesh out the world of X and Y, which was ok but really dull and needed some polish like Gen 4 had with Platinum. Plus Zygarde basically got shafted and didn't get to play a major role in the games (and was set to Sun and Moon as a collectable).

Z was planned- after gf decided to ditch the dlc patches for xy. In the end they just dropped it n went ahead with oras and sm to deviate attention from the unfinished xy project and the fact they are dishonest, greedy and lazy.

YESSSS! I’m in love with x&y. It’s awesome to see out of bounds in this game.
I've played Pokémon since it hit my territory and for the decades it's been here, I didn't fall in love with a particular entry until X and Y. When they get their remakes however far away from now it is, I'll be aiming to relive the experiences I had back in 2013. It was such a moving experience.

It's only been 5-6 years since I got the game but the music and visuals of this video gave me a LOT of nostalgia feelings...... and the zoom-ins on the character models just prove even more that GameFreak should've never abandoned this style after just one generation.
I didn't get around to watching this until now but I'm glad I did and now I wanna restart X. Too bad my unfinished Living Dex is on there and I'd have to figure out what to do with them...

When I first got to explore Lumiose City, I was super impressed with how asbolutely huge it was. Similarly, I always thought the Chamber of Emptiness was a missed opportunity and that it was the perfect place to hide a Legendary. I do wonder what the afforementioned chamber looks like while out-of-bounds.
My fav Pokemon game. The childhood nostalgia is strong here.

the work you'd be looking for is skybox rather than 'biome', it denotes the name given to a bounding box/dome of environment detail making the scene feel bigger than it is, normally the parts in this are flat planes with matte painting textures warped to give a sense of 3d space or low poly meshes with textures to represent structures.
3D skyboxes are also in this grouping, they are made to surround the playable area and match the level of detail in the stage but extend outside to again give a sense of a larger environment.
It just hit me how impressive it is that Nintendo made it possible for the player to move the camera around in Sword and Shield. They have to model everything now.

One of the best (ongoing) series' on youtube! Cheats/trainers, glitches, unreleased alphas/betas and decompiled game files got me interesting in game development and ultimately software development as a whole, which is what I do for a living today.

Whatever was used to edit the game visuals for this game capture makes the art style pop more and it's all so much more fit in my books. Everything looks even more sketched and painted in. It's gorgeous. Fits the painted canvas style that they seemed to go with.

Man I love X and Y X was my first pokemon game and I adored it and still do, there's still so much to learn about Kalos, and I really hope in the future we get a Kalos revisit and we can learn more about it. I still remember loving every moment spent with my pokemon and i felt close to them with pokemon amie. I remember being so proud of myself when I beat the elite four. I miss those days honestly

Torcoal seems like a pretty smart design choice. It's basically a 2D mask that forms a cloud but seamlessly morphs into the 3D object coming from Torcoal's back. It's pretty bizarre, but I guess it was necessary if they wanted to preserve Torcoal's original concept. :)
