At 03:11-03:18 the outtakes version, Bruce was attempting a super difficult nunchuku routine in which he couldn't get right after multiple takes. Then ended up going with the one you see here. Not seen anyone attempt a routine as difficult as that because of the direction change and switching hands. Definitely the best 4K version here with the correct sound dub. The aspect ratio looks really wide in which you could only see in a full cinema screen. Just need now for someone to get permission to do the entire movie or all the action sequences from all his movies. Link to outtakes version. At 02:04-02:18 this version is shorter than the original outtakes but you get the idea. The VHS version there was at least 5-6 attempts at the more difficult routine before Bruce opting for an easier routine. ruclips.net/video/QE3wsX4vC_g/видео.html

I’m watching the film for the first time on TCM. Only the original footage with Bruce Lee is legendary. Bruce Lee is indeed an icon. Hard to believe it been 50 years since he passed. Continue to rest in peace.
Bruce Lee inspired a lot of pop culture stuff from his iconic fits to characters such as Liu Kang from Mk, Law from Tekken and Rock Lee from Naruto, and moments from his other movies
Watch his body, his hands constantly move, his feet tip toe into place, his core is flexible, his mind is focused, his eyes notice every muscle movement. He is a Legend!!! Praise BRUCE LEE!!! God Gave Him Spark!!!! 🔥
Jackie Chan began as an impersonator, billed as the new Bruce Lee for the Fist of Fury sequel, which he quite patently wasn't but thankfully he was allowed to be himself & adapt his own style which worked well.
This was supposed to be a physical representation of the clash between styles and adaptations of styles. Here we see the various inflexible styles and their rigid dogmas that cripple a fighter’s imagination. Lee turns that all on its head literally and figuratively showing a thinking fighter that is open and loose, can conform to any rhythm, but not be bound by it. Lee was really fighting belief systems that schools and instructors each pompously tout as the best form of fighting.
All these years, I failed to notice how Bruce can switch stance from regular to orthodox, to Southpaw. Always failed to notice how he was so effective when striking until I decided to just look at his footwork when attacking, evading, countering. None of this you see in modern MMA combat.
I saw game of death in 1978, when I was 9, and evendently, Bruce fighting is based on self defence, today martial is a joke its based on spot light, and, fame, and money. Back then marital arts was based on honour, you dont get that anymore. I took traditional TaeKwondo, which was based on the art of self defence, it was called ITF, which was the original, and it was like Karate. Modern day Taekwondo is based on competition, its called WTF., anyways I started back in 1974, when I was 5. And I haven't been in a do jo for 25 years, but I still train everyday, to keep in shape, and be ready. I was a 3rd degree black belt. Today martial arts MMA as you call it is a fucking joke.
Man this brings me back to when I was like 9 years old watching it at my grandmas house ! My uncle left at her house all of the vhs tapes of Bruce lee movies! This one was my fav. Me and all my cousins would watch it. Miss you grandma. Miss my childhood so much
Man it's a shame to wonder what this movie could've been had it been completed fully as intended. At least the final 20 minutes exist publically for us to enjoy.
Can you image meeting a guy the size of KAJ that knows martial arts? Now thats an intimidating sight. What’s cool is Kareem actually trained in jeet kune do under Bruce Lee in real life which is super awesome imo.
Quite an appropriately fitting musical tribute to the late but great Bruce Lee and it's very touching everytime I listen to it. Whoever this woman is she's a great singer, thanks for your voice.
That white dude in the 70s vest must have supernatural powers, because he is able to momentarily make his pants disappear and transform his leg into that of a 7"2 African American! truly remarkable 12:55

Yes we know that, after Bruce Lee defeated Kareem, the rest of the scene wasn’t Bruce, although there were some cutting shots taken from the previous fights.
Even if he completed the movie this probably would have been the only 11 minutes of action in the full movie anyway. That's about how much fighting there is in any early 70s kung fu movie
So I've heard that this specific scene inspired Kung-Fu Master. Then Kung Fu Masters boss fights inspired Street fighter and that game inspired games like Mortal Kombat, Tekken, final fight and so on and so forth. This seemed inspired the fighting genre and games we have today.

None of the popular fighting games got it right. Never did I see a character like what Kareem Abdul Jabar played in this movie. A skillful fighter that knew how to use his reach.
To all the people that dont know, Bruce Lee shot 40 minutes of original footage for the movie before he had to leave and film Enter the Dragon. Right after he finished Enter the Dragon he died before he could go back and finish Game of Death. The studio for game of death decided to change the whole story of the film and the 40 minutes that Bruce Lee shot was only narrowed down to like 10 or so minutes with the 3 fights Bruce Lee actually did. The studio was stupid, they could have kept Bruce 40 minutes of footage and just add another 50 minutes of new footage that would lead into Bruce footage. 40 minutes is a good amount for a Bruce Lee movie since most of his movies were and 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Jkd is such a brilliant style...smh.. adjust so you can beat your opponent. That's how Bruce beat colt ( Norris) in way of the dragon, and he beat hakeem here in G.O.D. I wish there was a school near me that teaches jkd. I'm currently in my 5th year learning Chinese Kung Fu👍🏻💯 I love it.
It might be best to check to see if a current instructor's lineage can be traced to one of Bruce Lee's original students. And maybe you can find a seminar that you can attend.
Fantastic finale movie from the great Bruce Lee. Though it was undeniably obvious that the finale scenes where filmed with a Bruce-double.
