- I have slowly been putting dash cameras in all of my cars just for some extra security but not just for driving the cool thing is now I will know what happens when my car is parked all by itself.

That's a pretty complex dash cam you have there. We have dash cams in our cars, but they are self contained with a small inbuilt screen that shows what the dash cam is recording onto a 32GB micro SD card. Our dash cams just plug into a lighter socket with a standard lighter plug. I did the same as you with running the wire.

I have a rather basic Vifio A119 and mounted it on the right side, behind the interior rear view mirror, just so the lens isn't in the tint section. It's almost invisible there, also being hard wired. This position also shouldn't get me 'obstruction of windshield' ticket by the police. I'd suggest you remove that air freshner, don't give them a reason to pull you over, no matter how petty it is.

LOVE love love that camera, been running it in my car for almost a couple years now here in Michigan. Its left the car only 2-3 times since I got it, thing is loyal all year through the Mitten's various seasons. Hoping I can get another 2-3 years out of it and a bunch more great video clips and shots of crazy cars/plates on the road 🤣
edit: Only regret I have is not having a rear-facing camera! It's not a must-have, but I've seen a lot of bozo behavior in my mirrors that I wish I captured
