Bruh, basically all dashcams aren’t wireless. They need a constant power source because their batteries are small. If you want it to be wireless, it will be a VERY big device, like a iPad. And it’ll block your vision on the road. 2. Why are almost everybody so lazy to just hide the wire behind the car trim?!?! I have done it before and it is easy.

Mine worked for 3 days and then nothing. I sent the unit back and now getting flack about tracking number they want. They have the unit back and my note as they asked. So now it is time to slam this pile of SHYT in the trash as a WASTE OF MONEY.

It’s certainly not worth the price. I’ve had a $20 dashcam from Walmart, still looks better than the HD MIRROR CAM. Also, I’ve known a $55 dashcam ($5 more than HD MIRROR CAM), which literally the resolution of the video looks SO MUCH BETTER.
I have been using this dash cam and for the low price you can't really complain about the HD video quality, it is not HD that is for sure but it does work well enough to record an accident or someone messing around with your car or truck while your in shopping. For me it was easy to hook up and day time is much better video then night time but it still catches enough to get the job done for the low price. If you don't like the wire hanging BS it has a 1 hour internal battery life so I just unplug it from the cord for short trips this does away with the wire BS quick fix. I mean really if you want to make HD videos then go buy a 200 or 300 dollar unit and have fun, but for the low price of 40 bucks all included can't ask for miracles folks. Nice review mate cheers
I called to order one (big mistake- they try to upsell and get you to buy more stuff and subscribe to junk). When I told the woman on the phone "I JUST want the camera I saw on TV", she hung up on me! Of course that was *after* giving my CC info, address (if you want one do not call, go online so an idiot doesn't fly through tons of info without fully explaining it). I'm going to call all 3 numbers and hope (demand my order be cancelled). I've learned to not buy "as seen on tv" stuff until it's on a real shelf in a real store where you can skip the BS, buy the item, and be able to return if needed by going back to the store.
I'd wait to buy the next one hopefully with airdrop or bluetooth to upload video to cloud and/or phones, and better picture quality, but for the money doesn't look too bad. The biggest benefit would be the mirror and 360 camera.
Honestly, I am buying this now. My cousin had a 1080p dash cam for when he was an Uber driver in CO Springs, he spent about $200+ for his, sad thing is it was the best on the market outside of a goPro, he got it in 2016, and the quality was trash, I mean it looked pretty good while driving on a small 4.3" screen but once on the laptop, it was pixelated from hell and it was supposed to be 1080p. Now I know not everyrhing is going to be perfect, BUT this thing actualy sounds better and looks better than I thought, I mean it beats using your cell as a dash cam 😂😂 I mean the 350° cam is actualy pretty cool, I know alot of things I could use this for, especialy being a car guy. Now I noticed you didn't try the instant on feature that it has, and also you can make the screen go away. Anyways good review, I will be buying this in a couple of days.
It seems the only good thing is that its not distracting because of its small size & lack of a mount. This is the brother of the Dash Cam Pro & they even use the same clips on the infomercial.
I got 2 of these at a yard sale for $2 bucks total😎 I think the daytime quality is sufficient enough to record in case of something crazy when my wife drives
I had one for a few weeks that served me well at night Except the Audio had a bad hum. Target quit selling them so I didn’t replace it. Now I need a new dashcam and since the audio is clear on here, I’ll try it again. I liked the one I had. I park and turn the camera on myself to make notes for later. Based on this demo I’ll try it once again because my only complaint before was the audio. I recall it working well at night but now I have a year of other footage to compare to. Thank you.
Hi. Thanks for the review. A person with kids might want to use the swivel feature to record their silliness or to just keep an eye on a baby, etc. I think it's decent for the price (Amazon price $49.99 and free Prime shipping). You can see the tag # in daytime but not so well at night. I couldn't really tell a difference when toggling between day and night mode but I think it will serve its purpose. I did find a different one on Amazon for $35 that included front (1080p) AND rear (720p) cameras. It had a touch screen though and I think I prefer having physical buttons since some touch screens can be difficult to see depending on glare. I'm in the research phase at the moment so thanks again for this helpful review! 🙂
I bought one and I find it suitable for the purpose. Camera quality isn't too great, but hey, I'm not looking for the perfect snaps, I just want enough video evidence that would hold up in court should the worst come to the worst and the HD cam delivers that. Everybody bitching about quality and stuff. Common. It's 50 bucks. It looks pretty fucking good to me for cheap. If you're wanting better visual and sound quality, go spend more than 50 bucks
Thank you for posting. I watched a couple other reviews of this cam and apparently license plates couldn't be read. Same as you, night time wasn't good. I don't even consider something from an infomercial unless I check out your reviews. Saves me the hassle of sending stuff back

The video quality doesn't seem great, but seeing things like cell phone camera footage or the countless traffic videos in Europe/Russia since they require the dash cams in a lot of places, it's still a lot better then that grainy mess of 360p black and white video. Seeing the price in the comments, it doesn't seem "that bad" really.
OMG!! At $20, that thing would be overpriced!! For $50, you can get a much better cheap dashcam that will record in 1080p. Almost anything would be better than that!!
A couple of things I noticed. With MOST Dashcams usually the monitor will shut off after a few seconds to prevent drivers from watching it as they drive but from what you posted it doesn't look like this one does that. 2nd is that I agree with you regarding the lack of definition especially at night. HD it is not. I do like the convenience of it being an all-in-one and it not taking up much more space on my windshield. I also like this particular product because of the swivel camera. I know you mentioned that it would be good to use for back seat passengers but I was also thinking of when I might get stopped by an officer or something. I can record our interaction. Not that this occurs much in my world.
since you seem to go out of your way to honor our requests for products I felt it necessary to follow up on one my original complaints above. I have since gotten this camera which I bought from a 3rd party seller on Walmart.com. Yes, The Video resolution needs improvement but the convenience of this device is well worth it. I noticed in your video that at night the display screen was on which definitely is a distraction while driving and using the mirror and perhaps distracting to drivers behind us. Also, right here on You Tube I watched the Infomercial about the camera and they boast that there's a setting to hide the screen (which I couldn't find) so I contacted inventel on their web site. Low and behold they called me back the next day (just minutes ago) and the gentleman said that I can hide the display screen using settings. If I set SLEEP MODE to 1 minute that should hide the display and if I wanted to view the display again during that session all I would have to do is press either one of the arrow buttons to make it re-appear.
Don't mind this dash cam but one thing is that when I'm driving the mirror shakes quite a bit making it hard to see in the rear view mirror. When I hold my hand on the mirror however it doesn't shake. Any ideas?

My dad bought me this last year and it say under my dresser in the box till today lol. I put it in my van and I like it. It did not come with the SD card but I can always buy one. I did notice that the car charger sometimes doesn't work all the time. I like it. But mine was free.

I was looking for actual instructions as opposed to how it worked for you. I already know how it works but need more instructions what all the buttons do. I lost the manual. My big concern is to how to not have the little video box on all the time and how to turn that off
I did notice a difference in daytime vs nighttime mode at night, you could see the signs with the daytime mode at night better than on nighttime mode which was rather odd. What's great about these is you can film idiots doing illegal things.
I just bought one and so far, I think it would be handy if I were involved in an accident in the front of my vehicle. From watching this video review, I would have to agree that the image is not very sharp. Wondering how the video looks when the SD card in plugged into a computer. Price was certainly a good deal.

It would be great for Ubering but, when you turn the camera around to watch the passengers, u have no way to prove if you get hit as the camera is not protecting you from the hit and run? Add a frount and back camera to delete that single camera on swivel? Camera should be HD quality not just in the day ,but at night also. Need to read the plates on the hit and run.
I am interested in a rear view camera because it is very likely I will get hit from the rear. I do have a rear view camera in my car but it only works when I back up. Too bad it can't record..
After twicw being pulled over by the Highway Patrol because they saw my old dash cam in the window, and thought it was a Radar Detector, this is a good choice to eliminate that problem.
You mentioned yours came with an 8GB micro SD card. Well, they're not "coming" with that anymore. The manuals state, several times in fact, that the SD card IS NOT INCLUDED. Just a heads up.
Glad I found this.... was thinking of buying one... I won't now. You saved me money and grief ! Why doesn't SONY or the other major manufacturers make these ? Better still.. why aren't they sold by car manufacturers as an installable option on their cars. Most mirror cams seem to be a scam to me.
All you can do is turn it to face backward. Most of the screen will be taken up by the back seat, though. I doubt you'd get enough detail to get a license plate.
Very good job with the review, not so much for the dashcam. It would have been nice if you had traveled the same route both day and night for comparison. I literally just bought one from Walmart, now I'm thinking about taking it back to Walmart🤷🏽♂️.🤔
Didn't appear to be in HD. Looks like you have to be very close to another vehicle to read license plates with the forward camera. Did the backup camera reading license plates behind you that well.

Did you try watching the recorded video in the micro sd card from a computer? A lot of cameras have low resolution displays so they look like crap but they do record in in 720p hd or whatever. Just saying because a lot of people seem to be complaining about the recorded video just from the mirror itself.
It has great features and you're getting your money's worth at 50 bucks. They really should come out with a version that has a better quality camera. I'd pay the extra $100-$150 for quality footage. I think I'll hold out till then, thanks for the great review!
Hey there. In the description is a link to an update video I did, which includes this product. It no longer stays on all the time, and turns off after about 10 minutes. I definitely suggest waiting for something better.
if you're spending 100-150, then get you an android mirror dash cam. android blows this thing out of the water with features and camera quality. although i must say it is a knock off of the android system on your phone. it not only has the front swivel cam(1080p wdr not cheap infared lenses), but it also has a rearview backup cam(720p led lights). i put google maps and rocket player on mine(did i mention gps?). i've had two in thelast 5yrs.
I brought this product and I found after some months I started having problems with my car battery, my car battery was excellent with the stereo and other things then when I got this camera after awhile I started noticing that my car was getting harder to start. They claimed that this camera turns off/on automatically, when the truth is, that even with your car turned off, this device is in ON mode fulltime and over time it starts to drain the energy from your car battery. Sometimes I found my car battery was dead - flat. I have had my camera for a year now and in that time I have had to buy 2 new car batteries. My car batteries when examined were found to have severe leakage and the energy of the batteries were being used up at a really hefty rate. The car battery people decided to test my HD camera and to my horror it revealed that this camera was eating away at my car battery, without using the sensor mode, there is no automatic on/off. The camera shuts down after sometime but it still is using energy from the battery when the car is turned off. On car battery #3 I decided to disconnect my HD mirror cam when the car was not being driven, to find that since doing this I have not been having the issues with my car battery since. It's good when I am driving, however, to claim that it doesn't use your car battery power when it goes into sleep mode (automatic off/on mode) is FALSE. The car battery people told me that if it is in the car lighter charge, it will drain the car battery because it is pushed in and in ON mode continuosly. With a car lighter you have to push it in to get it to heat up, a car lighter is not in ON mode continously - if it were, it would also drain the car battery of it life, just like leaving your headlights on drain the car battery. This camera is in ON mode all the time and within months it causes your battery to leak and breakdown. My car is fully alarmed and never did I have issues with my car battery until I purchased this device. So just beware - pull it out when the car is not turned on.

Hi everyone. Can anyone please tell me if this mirror needs to be charged out of the box?. I tried mine today for the first time and it didn't work. There was a red and blue light at the top of the mirror that was lit up. I didn't see anything else though. Is mine broken right out of the box? Please help.

Great Review!!! I just bought one, yet now they DO NOT COME WITH A FREE 8GB SD card! Nope, you gotta buy it. I got the 32GB for $19.95. I am VERY disappointed with the video quality AND the audio. However, it is likely that I have a defective unit. From what I read in customer reviews at various websites, the customer service is severely lacking and down right rude. So I am concerned to get a refund or even an exchange!? But for the price, you can tell if someone hits you in the front and all else you mention in your testing, yet I strongly suggest no one buy this HD Mirror Cam and try for a better HD. They are several that are made like this one with an attachable mirror. Best of luck!
That's unfortunate that they skimped on the SD card! Despite the poor quality, I did still use daily it until it only worked 10 minutes at a time. At that point I gave up on it.
June 25, 2017..........What I immediately noticed is that the power cord you displayed at the beginning of this video as you mounted the HD MirrorCam over your car's rear view mirror is NOT visible along the windshield during the tv commercial. I believe the tv commercial does not fully explain the motion detecting feature, which I believe might only be able to be utilized if the DashCam is hard wired to the car..........How does the HD MirrorCam charge? Can the camera only be charged by being plugged into the car's lighter or utility outlet? My Polaroid HD DashCam PD-E53H films in 1080P. I wish there was a way to charge it inside my home by plugging it into an electric outlet or to my computer the same way I can charge my portable GPS.
how would this be different from using cell phone with a dash mount? I don't see much difference until the vehicle is unattended. also if at a car show or tailgate how easy would it be for someone to steal?

Dear god that camera is encoding video in MJPEG from the looks of the video. The decent dashcams encode in H264. You can verify this by opening up the video in VLC player
did you test out the motion detector? they claim, that it this device turns on automatically if it detects someone walking past the car when parked and turned off.

Folks , before you go trashing the HD Mirror CAM, Consider a few things. Look at the options this dash cam offers vs others for the money spent. Somebody's actually out here whining about having to buy a SD Micro Card. They come in different sizes to suite your different needs. The dash cam works with all of them up to 32G. Walmart sells 2 for $29.99. Or you can buy a kit with a reader (which you already have from the dash cam purchase) in it for $53.00. You can buy a SD Micro Card Reader with a USB Connector from Amazon for anywhere for $19.99 to $29.99, so you avg is $24.99. But you don't need one because it comes with the kit. Go out, find the SD Micro card with the memory you want, & buy it. Prices very by memory, the more memory, the more they cost. PS Note, for you cheap skates out there that do not like buying SD Memory cards of any kind, keep in mind that Best Buy usually has sales on these once a year, where you could save up to 50% savings off of the everyday price. Last time I seen the sale, back in March. That's the time to stock up on what ever you need as far as SD Memory cards go. The image & video is very squashy on a large screen PC, but there is an option on the viewing screen to view in a smaller window. When I click on the window, the image is smaller but the quality is awesome, It looks like you are looking out a window. I am wonder if I need to make adjustments to the PC when viewing images from the HD Mirror Cam. This is the 4th different Dash Cam that I have owned. I threw the others away, because that's where they belong. I had a Road Dog that recorded when & where it wanted to. I suppose I should had stocked up on doggie bones for the ride, right. It cost quite a bit more than this. Folks you are dealing with $49.00, & you are dealing with a China customer support base, that you really didn't want to be dealing with any way. Not only do they not speak English, but there is no way they are going to give you back your money. You have to fight that part with your CC Company. If mine breaks down, I will do the same thing I did with the other 4. Throw it away, & continue to find something that works for me. I'm O.K. so far with the purchase. I drove around today going shopping & was in a back up. Smokey Bear came up looking to get buy everyone as we were crowed up in a construction zone. I was able to open up a hole in front of me for him as he came blasting down the left shoulder & was able to squeeze back onto the highway in front of me. The image was recorded. All the other dash cams I had bought previously always had missing chapters. What good is a dash cam if it only records what it wants, when it wants. So far, so good with this one, & it was at least 1/3 of the cost of the others.

Hey Bill. I would say it's average quality. You don't really see your old mirror, so it doesn't look too bulky. I've noticed that it vibrates more than the regular mirror and there is a blue tint to it. Be sure to watch my latest round of updates ("Part 5") in which I discuss this product. Hint: It stopped working properly. :-)
For starters, the Falcon Zero F360+ HD DVR camera you listed in your description DID NOT pick up license plates clearly at night either, nor did the built-in microphone perform any better than the HD Mirror Cam at over 3 times the cost. As someone who works with HD video a lot, the average person DOES NOT want a full HD video dash cam. The file sizes of the stored video are large and cumbersome to copy and work with, and you would need a microSD card of 128GB to have approximately the same recording time. The quality of the camera lens and CCD make a much bigger impact on the image quality, as well as the fact that the camera is designed to use a slightly wide-angle field of view, which will reduce image detail for things like license plate reading. I also noticed that your windshield looked dirty, which is also going to affect image clarity as well. Finally, comparing your full-sized Sony optics and CCD to a $49 dash cam is like comparing a volkswagon and a Porsche. If you want a $500.00 dash cam, go buy one. If you've never had a dash cam before and simply want to protect yourself from stupid people, this might not be a bad choice.

What about the motion detection feature? This review missed out on a lot of the features of this product.

Thank you for posting. I watched a couple other reviews of this cam and apparently license plates couldn't be read. Same as you, night time wasn't good. I don't even consider something from an infomercial unless I check out your reviews. Saves me the hassle of sending stuff back

I had the dash cam like you got i went to a hd 1080p and it gives you a better look at night and day
The video quality doesn't seem great, but seeing things like cell phone camera footage or the countless traffic videos in Europe/Russia since they require the dash cams in a lot of places, it's still a lot better then that grainy mess of 360p black and white video.
Seeing the price in the comments, it doesn't seem "that bad" really.
I'd say that's a pretty fair assessment. I'll probably keep using it, mainly because it works automatically.

OMG!! At $20, that thing would be overpriced!! For $50, you can get a much better cheap dashcam that will record in 1080p. Almost anything would be better than that!!

The camera that swivels can record children in back seat if they start singing or any kind of games that might be played on a road trip.
A couple of things I noticed. With MOST Dashcams usually the monitor will shut off after a few seconds to prevent drivers from watching it as they drive but from what you posted it doesn't look like this one does that. 2nd is that I agree with you regarding the lack of definition especially at night. HD it is not. I do like the convenience of it being an all-in-one and it not taking up much more space on my windshield. I also like this particular product because of the swivel camera. I know you mentioned that it would be good to use for back seat passengers but I was also thinking of when I might get stopped by an officer or something. I can record our interaction. Not that this occurs much in my world.
It does have some nice features. If only the quality were a little better...
since you seem to go out of your way to honor our requests for products I felt it necessary to follow up on one my original complaints above. I have since gotten this camera which I bought from a 3rd party seller on Walmart.com. Yes, The Video resolution needs improvement but the convenience of this device is well worth it. I noticed in your video that at night the display screen was on which definitely is a distraction while driving and using the mirror and perhaps distracting to drivers behind us. Also, right here on You Tube I watched the Infomercial about the camera and they boast that there's a setting to hide the screen (which I couldn't find) so I contacted inventel on their web site. Low and behold they called me back the next day (just minutes ago) and the gentleman said that I can hide the display screen using settings. If I set SLEEP MODE to 1 minute that should hide the display and if I wanted to view the display again during that session all I would have to do is press either one of the arrow buttons to make it re-appear.
When I watched their infomercial, it said that the display on the mirror can be turned off.
I keep saying my disc is full and it won't record I can't find anywhere where it says loop recording

While driving the car, that little screen on the corner can you turn that off and still record at the same time?
Don't mind this dash cam but one thing is that when I'm driving the mirror shakes quite a bit making it hard to see in the rear view mirror. When I hold my hand on the mirror however it doesn't shake. Any ideas?

My dad bought me this last year and it say under my dresser in the box till today lol. I put it in my van and I like it. It did not come with the SD card but I can always buy one. I did notice that the car charger sometimes doesn't work all the time. I like it. But mine was free.

I was looking for actual instructions as opposed to how it worked for you. I already know how it works but need more instructions what all the buttons do. I lost the manual. My big concern is to how to not have the little video box on all the time and how to turn that off
I did notice a difference in daytime vs nighttime mode at night, you could see the signs with the daytime mode at night better than on nighttime mode which was rather odd. What's great about these is you can film idiots doing illegal things.
I just bought one and so far, I think it would be handy if I were involved in an accident in the front of my vehicle. From watching this video review, I would have to agree that the image is not very sharp. Wondering how the video looks when the SD card in plugged into a computer. Price was certainly a good deal.

It would be great for Ubering but, when you turn the camera around to watch the passengers, u have no way to prove if you get hit as the camera is not protecting you from the hit and run? Add a frount and back camera to delete that single camera on swivel? Camera should be HD quality not just in the day ,but at night also. Need to read the plates on the hit and run.
I think you might need to censor the numbers on the car license plates...
I am interested in a rear view camera because it is very likely I will get hit from the rear. I do have a rear view camera in my car but it only works when I back up. Too bad it can't record..

Yes it should be LCD cam. Its not HD & don't want something distracting me at night. But I am looking for a good quality one

After twicw being pulled over by the Highway Patrol because they saw my old dash cam in the window, and thought it was a Radar Detector, this is a good choice to eliminate that problem.

You mentioned yours came with an 8GB micro SD card. Well, they're not "coming" with that anymore. The manuals state, several times in fact, that the SD card IS NOT INCLUDED. Just a heads up.

Glad I found this.... was thinking of buying one... I won't now. You saved me money and grief ! Why doesn't SONY or the other major manufacturers make these ? Better still.. why aren't they sold by car manufacturers as an installable option on their cars. Most mirror cams seem to be a scam to me.
What about recording what's behind the car? and what about snap shots, if someone is following you?
All you can do is turn it to face backward. Most of the screen will be taken up by the back seat, though. I doubt you'd get enough detail to get a license plate.

Very good job with the review, not so much for the dashcam. It would have been nice if you had traveled the same route both day and night for comparison. I literally just bought one from Walmart, now I'm thinking about taking it back to Walmart🤷🏽♂️.🤔

Looks like you have to be very close to another vehicle to read license plates with the forward camera.

Did you try watching the recorded video in the micro sd card from a computer? A lot of cameras have low resolution displays so they look like crap but they do record in in 720p hd or whatever. Just saying because a lot of people seem to be complaining about the recorded video just from the mirror itself.

It has great features and you're getting your money's worth at 50 bucks. They really should come out with a version that has a better quality camera. I'd pay the extra $100-$150 for quality footage. I think I'll hold out till then, thanks for the great review!
Hey there. In the description is a link to an update video I did, which includes this product. It no longer stays on all the time, and turns off after about 10 minutes. I definitely suggest waiting for something better.
Hello, I just got mine, and was wondering, does it turn off on your regular car? You sure it wasn't just the beater car's plug being faulty?
if you're spending 100-150, then get you an android mirror dash cam. android blows this thing out of the water with features and camera quality. although i must say it is a knock off of the android system on your phone. it not only has the front swivel cam(1080p wdr not cheap infared lenses), but it also has a rearview backup cam(720p led lights). i put google maps and rocket player on mine(did i mention gps?). i've had two in thelast 5yrs.
You can change the picture quality to 1280p now.

I brought this product and I found after some months I started having problems with my car battery, my car battery was excellent with the stereo and other things then when I got this camera after awhile I started noticing that my car was getting harder to start. They claimed that this camera turns off/on automatically, when the truth is, that even with your car turned off, this device is in ON mode fulltime and over time it starts to drain the energy from your car battery. Sometimes I found my car battery was dead - flat. I have had my camera for a year now and in that time I have had to buy 2 new car batteries. My car batteries when examined were found to have severe leakage and the energy of the batteries were being used up at a really hefty rate. The car battery people decided to test my HD camera and to my horror it revealed that this camera was eating away at my car battery, without using the sensor mode, there is no automatic on/off. The camera shuts down after sometime but it still is using energy from the battery when the car is turned off. On car battery #3 I decided to disconnect my HD mirror cam when the car was not being driven, to find that since doing this I have not been having the issues with my car battery since. It's good when I am driving, however, to claim that it doesn't use your car battery power when it goes into sleep mode (automatic off/on mode) is FALSE. The car battery people told me that if it is in the car lighter charge, it will drain the car battery because it is pushed in and in ON mode continuosly. With a car lighter you have to push it in to get it to heat up, a car lighter is not in ON mode continously - if it were, it would also drain the car battery of it life, just like leaving your headlights on drain the car battery. This camera is in ON mode all the time and within months it causes your battery to leak and breakdown. My car is fully alarmed and never did I have issues with my car battery until I purchased this device. So just beware - pull it out when the car is not turned on.

Hi everyone. Can anyone please tell me if this mirror needs to be charged out of the box?. I tried mine today for the first time and it didn't work. There was a red and blue light at the top of the mirror that was lit up. I didn't see anything else though. Is mine broken right out of the box? Please help.
If nothing else, I think it's a better rearview mirror than the one that came with the car.

Great Review!!! I just bought one, yet now they DO NOT COME WITH A FREE 8GB SD card! Nope, you gotta buy it. I got the 32GB for $19.95. I am VERY disappointed with the video quality AND the audio. However, it is likely that I have a defective unit. From what I read in customer reviews at various websites, the customer service is severely lacking and down right rude. So I am concerned to get a refund or even an exchange!? But for the price, you can tell if someone hits you in the front and all else you mention in your testing, yet I strongly suggest no one buy this HD Mirror Cam and try for a better HD. They are several that are made like this one with an attachable mirror. Best of luck!
That's unfortunate that they skimped on the SD card! Despite the poor quality, I did still use daily it until it only worked 10 minutes at a time. At that point I gave up on it.

720p is passe. 1080p is standard nowadays for video. Heck even point and shoot cameras have 4k now. thanks for the review.
June 25, 2017..........What I immediately noticed is that the power cord you displayed at the beginning of this video as you mounted the HD MirrorCam over your car's rear view mirror is NOT visible along the windshield during the tv commercial. I believe the tv commercial does not fully explain the motion detecting feature, which I believe might only be able to be utilized if the DashCam is hard wired to the car..........How does the HD MirrorCam charge? Can the camera only be charged by being plugged into the car's lighter or utility outlet? My Polaroid HD DashCam PD-E53H films in 1080P. I wish there was a way to charge it inside my home by plugging it into an electric outlet or to my computer the same way I can charge my portable GPS.
I wonder if things like plates are legible when played back on a larger screen.
how would this be different from using cell phone with a dash mount? I don't see much difference until the vehicle is unattended. also if at a car show or tailgate how easy would it be for someone to steal?

Dear god that camera is encoding video in MJPEG from the looks of the video. The decent dashcams encode in H264. You can verify this by opening up the video in VLC player
did you test out the motion detector? they claim, that it this device turns on automatically if it detects someone walking past the car when parked and turned off.
If the motion feature is anything like my Polaroid HD DashCam PD-E53H,
I believe it needs to be hard wired to the car. I'm curious to find out too.
EJ Ioane doesn't work. Tried it a few different ways but the camera doesn't turn on when I walk or dance in front of the camera.
Maybe the dashcam requires music to dance along to.

Folks , before you go trashing the HD Mirror CAM, Consider a few things. Look at the options this dash cam offers vs others for the money spent. Somebody's actually out here whining about having to buy a SD Micro Card. They come in different sizes to suite your different needs. The dash cam works with all of them up to 32G. Walmart sells 2 for $29.99. Or you can buy a kit with a reader (which you already have from the dash cam purchase) in it for $53.00. You can buy a SD Micro Card Reader with a USB Connector from Amazon for anywhere for $19.99 to $29.99, so you avg is $24.99. But you don't need one because it comes with the kit. Go out, find the SD Micro card with the memory you want, & buy it. Prices very by memory, the more memory, the more they cost. PS Note, for you cheap skates out there that do not like buying SD Memory cards of any kind, keep in mind that Best Buy usually has sales on these once a year, where you could save up to 50% savings off of the everyday price. Last time I seen the sale, back in March. That's the time to stock up on what ever you need as far as SD Memory cards go. The image & video is very squashy on a large screen PC, but there is an option on the viewing screen to view in a smaller window. When I click on the window, the image is smaller but the quality is awesome, It looks like you are looking out a window. I am wonder if I need to make adjustments to the PC when viewing images from the HD Mirror Cam. This is the 4th different Dash Cam that I have owned. I threw the others away, because that's where they belong. I had a Road Dog that recorded when & where it wanted to. I suppose I should had stocked up on doggie bones for the ride, right. It cost quite a bit more than this. Folks you are dealing with $49.00, & you are dealing with a China customer support base, that you really didn't want to be dealing with any way. Not only do they not speak English, but there is no way they are going to give you back your money. You have to fight that part with your CC Company. If mine breaks down, I will do the same thing I did with the other 4. Throw it away, & continue to find something that works for me. I'm O.K. so far with the purchase. I drove around today going shopping & was in a back up. Smokey Bear came up looking to get buy everyone as we were crowed up in a construction zone. I was able to open up a hole in front of me for him as he came blasting down the left shoulder & was able to squeeze back onto the highway in front of me. The image was recorded. All the other dash cams I had bought previously always had missing chapters. What good is a dash cam if it only records what it wants, when it wants. So far, so good with this one, & it was at least 1/3 of the cost of the others.

Hey Bill. I would say it's average quality. You don't really see your old mirror, so it doesn't look too bulky. I've noticed that it vibrates more than the regular mirror and there is a blue tint to it. Be sure to watch my latest round of updates ("Part 5") in which I discuss this product. Hint: It stopped working properly. :-)

For starters, the Falcon Zero F360+ HD DVR camera you listed in your description DID NOT pick up license plates clearly at night either, nor did the built-in microphone perform any better than the HD Mirror Cam at over 3 times the cost.
As someone who works with HD video a lot, the average person DOES NOT want a full HD video dash cam. The file sizes of the stored video are large and cumbersome to copy and work with, and you would need a microSD card of 128GB to have approximately the same recording time. The quality of the camera lens and CCD make a much bigger impact on the image quality, as well as the fact that the camera is designed to use a slightly wide-angle field of view, which will reduce image detail for things like license plate reading. I also noticed that your windshield looked dirty, which is also going to affect image clarity as well. Finally, comparing your full-sized Sony optics and CCD to a $49 dash cam is like comparing a volkswagon and a Porsche. If you want a $500.00 dash cam, go buy one. If you've never had a dash cam before and simply want to protect yourself from stupid people, this might not be a bad choice.

So how to view playback on a computer? I took out the memory card and inserted to my computer. I only got audio no video.
