  • Sir Mark Cavendish needs no introduction here - as he battles for his 35th stage win at the 2024 Tour de France (though the irony of watching a very sick looking Cav battle through the first stage as I write this is not lost on me...), Cav is the finest sprinter of all time - and in this video we ride his `11 HTC team bike!
2011 was a stella year for Cavendish - wins at Schelderpijs, Tour of Britain, multiple stages at the Giro the 5 stages and the Green jersey at the Tour De France, followed by an epic win at the World Championships - its hard to imagine a finer year - then his HTC team collapsed around him - soooooo pro cycling.....
In this video we ride Mark Cavendish`s all conquering Specialized McClaren Venge - who cares its a bit small for me - its just plain awesome!
Cav for at least one more stage win....
***NOTE - Cav is the king - stage win no.35 just taken in some style - he was just the fasted sprinter in the bunch and then some.... pretty sure we`ll see several more stages - yessss.....

Awesome bike Dan. It’s been painful watching Mark suffer through this opening stage - and what a tough opening stage it is! But here’s hoping Sir Mark holds on and we see a great deal more of the man, and his fabulous looking new bike. I hope Philipsen is feeling the heat and the pace. Cav will always be the GOAT whatever happens.

Growing up, Merckx was my Idol, then Hinault, now its Cav (well, all three). With or without that record, but could you imagine?
That bike is my size by the way....

I'd say if the bike had Direct Mount brakes instead of single post would have been an even madder descender

To be honest, if stage 1 was stage 16 and Cav pulled the pin and rolled in no one would have batted an eyelid - as Cav said, was the sensible thing to do... I`m also guessing that without McClaren on board Specialized had to re-design the Venge into that weird looking thing they had for a year or two, Dan
