I'm 51, moved to Florida and attending Skyborne Academy. Just got my PPL and now completing my Commercial and Instrument. I already have low hour job opportunities in another 6 months when I'm done. Many companies WANT older pilots - it's more than just flying experience when you're talking about dealing with wealthy clientele, expensive equipment and safety factors. Lean in to your emotional intelligence and ability to show up better as a mature adult. My school is mostly 19-25 yr old males... all headed to the airlines. Lotta pilot jobs out there that isn't flying an Airbus for the majors. Thank you for all your mentoring guys...I absorbed all your videos when I was thinking about doing this 18 months ago. Really helped me navigate this journey!

Your video is the answer I have been looking for for a long time. long time ago I completed my PPL(A) ME, VFR-N and 200h flight hours on 12 type of aircraft, I lost several years to pass ATPL, I finally passed at the age of 38, I'm terribly sorry that it took so long. They are currently working on IR and CPL. Thank you very much for this video.

Hi, i am 45 and live in LA. I did my intro flight in 2023 and I loved it. I really wanna be pilot because l love to be up there and feeling to be freedom. My Q is I came to this contury to study and I decided to stay here after seeing the opportunites. So I am not citizen yet. How can I be a pilot? Little answer may help me to follow my path. Thanks.

Jose, these guys are full of wisdom. Having a job you don't like or doesn't pay well is the perfect reason to stop and become a pilot. Where you out of? oh btw don't say a town I want an ICAO airport code. I was training out of 4B9 and will be transitioning to KHFD or KMMK. Start living and breathing airplanes. Also, start studying for the written. When I showed up for hour 1 I already read most of the POH of N5212E and studied the airspace. I knew runway 3 / 21 lengths and displaced threshold on 21. I already knew the 70%/50% rule and briefed it with my instructor. I also had a plan for an engine failure at each phase and discussed it with my CFI. Remember that airplane is a terrible classroom so save that for the ground and study study study to prepare for your first flight. Oh get used to the phrase "Right Rudder". Most importantly enjoy the ride. Blue Skies -Tony

About to turn 43. I started training at a Part 61 at end of 2019, it took me 2.5yrs with 175hrs. I overpaid too. But not looking back. Going forward- at this point I'm at zero balance. I am not being approved for loans, I tried with coapplicant too. I was thinking to do a detour and take 2-3yrs off working intensely to pay off some old loans, and save for training, and then continue training after. What is your advice on that? I really don't see another way of getting the funds.

    At the airport
.You can gas planes.clean..move them..and touch them. And you can touch them you can schedule a little flight time here and there
Get in good with flight school owner..swallow that pride.."Yse Sir Yes Mam..." Ask questions...don't ne too pushy but most people thzt fly like to "hanger talk:....( BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER)
The MAIN thing is relax enjoy yourself...
The best feeling in the world is to wake up in the morning.. maybe a weekend...look outside..( a little cloudy. But)
Go to to your local arport...go to the hanger...and......

Hi David. I recommend listening to Dave Ramsey. Debt sucks, it is modern day indentured servitude. Borrowing money for an asset that depreciates is short sighted. Also I see a bunch of "poor" people rocking $1,200 i-phones. Get a cheap car like a older camry or honda and drive it until the wheels fall off, then put the wheels back on and drive it so more. Also, 2 jobs until you are out of debt. I promise in two years there will be a different David Sabins posting about how he just finished his PPL.

I'm 42, not broke, but I don't think I can learn full-time because I currently have a full-time job. Also, I'm recently divorced and have my 3 kids every other week. And so I wouldn't have the support needed to just quit my job and learn to fly full-time. I welcome any and all advice on this.
