I had the same problem. Buttons fell and could not put them back. I watched multiple videos until I found your channel and problem solve. Thank you very much.
The buttons falling out was a happy accident. Your particular key fob (with the two smaller buttons) is just the fob I was looking for. The placement of the 'spacer' solved the problem for me this morning. Now I don't have to go to the Honda dealership...I've been struggling with this problem and watching multiple videos all morning and you are my hero!
Your video helped me out. I had pieces on the floor before seeing the video. One tip I might add, put a strip of scotch tape across the front before putting the buttons in. This will hold them all in place while you complete the assembly.
You just saved me from going to Honda ! Thank you I was able to put it back together thanks to you after panic at 1230am with buttons all over my counter 😅
Excellent video.... And really glad yours fell apart too and you left it in.... It basically assures us we're on the right track and that it's easy to fall apart again!!!! THANK YOU!
Great video! My remote went through washer, so I opened it to dry it out, but then was lost putting it back together. Would’ve been lost without you and your mom! Thanks!!!!
Thank you to Mom as well. I was changing the battery and the whole damn thing fell apart, I went through exactly what you did. It’s like a little puzzle, your vid helped me put it back to together. Good job. 🍻
I have a 2018 Honda Odyssey and I wanted to say thanks. The response from TheDeb1216 is exactly what I wanted to say. You bailed me out big time. I failed so many times trying to get it together I finally clear taped the pieces in place. It worked well and all the buttons work fine. A big thanks to you.
Thank you!!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to record this, and that you just kept recording as it demonstrates for us watching that it was in fact as frustrating as it seems and we weren't alone in needing this tutorial.
I did this replacement today with some help from your video. It was funny because I did the exact same things wrong and had the same difficulties! Lol… but in the end it worked out great! 👍 and subscribed! Appreciate the help.
Glad I could help. Yea. These things aren’t built to last forever I guess. But my battery lasted less than 2 years. I changed the other at the same time as I could only find a 2 pack battery & I know it’d be lost by the time I needed it.
Thanks so much for this video because while trying to replace my battery that T shaped plastic piece fell out followed by the buttons. Without your reverse engineering I would have broken it. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this video! The key parts fell out and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do it on my own but this video was so easy to follow along with.
Thank you. I have easily changed the battery before but of course tonite, the buttons all fell out and I couldn't tell where that black plastic piece went. I appreciate you doing this.
Thank you! I didn't flip over the fob to put the tiny buttons back in place so somehow I'd gotten the pieces back in but when I was finally able to get the back back on, the car wouldn't stop honking! After 40 minutes of this insanity I searched and found your video. Phew!
Thank you so much. I went to change my battery and boom...the fob just flung apart. Thankfully your video helped me to get it back together. Thanks again.
Thank you! This helped me immensely with the re-assembling 😅. Good samaritans like you I can guess are making good deal of dents to auto shop's revenues 🤗
Thanks for this video. I just tried to change the battery on my parents' car and it came apart like this. I agree with some of the other comments here - this is a terrible design. Everything's back together, but the buttons just seem to float around and sometimes get stuck, so I give it a week or two before we have a major emergency.
@@JohnnieV I have done it 3 times and each they all fit, but they don't fit perfectly. Sometimes the middle button sticks on and the top bottom isn't sitting flat. I've done my best, but I think this will have t go back to Honda. I would never have dreamed that if it came apart, the bottoms would just be totally loose. Thank you for your help anyway! The video gave me the confidence do what I thought I needed to do. :)
Thanks! I watched some other video to replace the battery and the guy failed to mention that it can completely explode on you. I was about to lose my mind lol
Thank you very helpful, thanks for posting. one thing I did do was to put tape across the front case the buttons will stick to the tape and not fall out just peel the tape off after reassembly.
Thank you, you helped my patience & shaky coffee hands, the tape is the most important thing. The tiny image pieces on my fob do not lock into place & they kept falling out.
Thanks, that was very helpful. I've always been hung up by the little piece that separates the remote start and trunk release. It makes me wonder why they made it this way.
For anyone having trouble putting back together first take everything apart then put the buttons in first only the lock and unlock then you place the middle bracket then proceed to add the smaller 2 buttons and the alarm button can be put on any time and boom snaps back together perfectly
I wondered if before you changed the battery you could tape them in place. No matter how hard I try to becareful they fall out every time and it takes me 30 mins to an hour to get those damn buttons back in place .
Those who still can't get the middle button fixed, guys its not the cross bar thats causing problem, I have been trying for the past hour. It's just the arrangement, I've been trying to place those buttons upside down...lol
Jesus I was having trouble putting the buttons because I was trying to put them on top of the rubber piece and placing the plastic case on top. Then I put the buttons in the plastic casing and put in together that way. I feel stupid for trying it the hard way for like 20 minutes
I still don't have the patience for this. I replaced the battery ok but then the buttons fell apart. I'm taking mine to Honda and letting them put it back together.
I had the same problem. Buttons fell and could not put them back. I watched multiple videos until I found your channel and problem solve. Thank you very much.

Yes yes I agree
Great patience putting this back together. Like you said "This should be fairly easy." But of course, the unit fell apart for me, too. Thank you!!!
Nothing is ever east for me. Lol
Use tape on the front before you put the tiny pieces in, they will stick onto the tape until you get it all together then pull off the tape.
@@ArnoldZiffle-jw2mv pro tip right there.
