This was SO HELPFUL. I’d gotten the replacement FOB from Amazon but couldn’t access the online instructions. It took me several tries; but kept referring back to your video. Thanks so much!
Thanks! Mine was pretty much the same as yours inside...A box containing the battery, transponder chip, buttons, etc., so it was nice and easy to change to a new shell that wasn't broken. I didn't replace the battery, but good to know how, just in case.
If you have an immobilizer chip separately in there, you have to take it out and tape it into the new fob in the same orientation it was in in the old fob. His (and mine) have the immobilizer chip all in that one box inside the fob, so it gets transferred along with the box that has the buttons on it.
That's easy enough but in my case the chip is glued into the fob case and needs to be installed into the new case. Removing the chip could result in damaging the chip then you're talking big $$$.

This just happened to my '05 Accord key. Thank you for making a video! Ordering a new case on Amazon now for ~$5
Thank you, you just saved me $$$$ thinking I had to order an entirely new key for my 2011 Pilot!

you did not explain what to do with the immobilizer chip.

I broke the plastic bit of the fob off and I’m now awaiting the part so I can start the car without looking like I’m hotwiring it lol
I did this but my accord won’t start anymore
