Why replace with an OEM look alike when you can get a beefed up version?
Don't forget to remove the transponder chip from the original housing on select models. Most keys have the transponder in the button electronics pack. Enjoy you new upgraded case!

Ended up snagging one of these and while all my components from the original fob fit inside it, my car is saying the key is too far away from the transponder and it won't start. Any suggestions? I have the three button. 2011 Honda civic.

Did you get the transponder out also? Go to 4:45 in the video

@@dubbs_hardwareyeah, on mine the transponder is part of the luck/unlock piece. Ive changed the casing several times. Was hoping this one wouldn't ever need replaced.

@@spencerrowland8054 Have you changed the battery out? A lot of times if an older battery moves around in will not connect

@@dubbs_hardware no, I think the problem is the metal from the key needs to be touching the actual fob piece. It works fine in my other cases..they all just keep breaking.

@@dubbs_hardware yo, you were right. Switched the battery and it worked perfectly. Thank you! I'm going to have to get another for my other set of keys

I noticed you used the plastic shims on both sides. After you tightened down, there is no wobble or play of the blade in your install? I noticed one of the reviews on Amazon mentioning the blade wobbled. Do you think they didn’t use the shims? Thanks.

@@scjr143 As long as your key fob is OEM there will be no wobble, we include up to 4 shims to fix this, most likely you will need only 2. They probably did not watch the full video for install and forgot the shims. Thanks for your question

@@scjr143I just got done putting mine together 3:30am and used the shims. There is no wiggle on mine. Mines for a 2012 honda pilot. It's definitely a lot more solid than the oem Hondas key.
