    l LOVE my Lamy 2000s. I have the medium and extra fine and love them both. I have never had any issues writing with either one. The feel in hand is perfect and the build quality is superb! Thanks for the video because sadly many are turned away from this iconic pen.

    I've had my Lamy 2000 (medium nib) for a few years. It is smooth, consistent and reliable. I've never had to take it apart for cleaning as I use conventional fountain pen ink without shimmer. I am considering getting another one with a broad nib.

      Does that also mean no pigmented inks like Platinum carbon black?

    • @andrewcamacho4092
      @andrewcamacho4092 2 года назад

      @@zenna5062 I've never used pigmented ink in any pen. If I do it would probably be a pen that is easy to disassemble and clean thoroughly. I know a piston filler can be disassembled but I might not be able to reassemble it. I've experienced this with other items.

    Thank you for your review of the Lamy 2000. This has been a grail pen for me but I've hesitated because of the "sweet spot" concerns. I think this is going on my Christmas List 2020.

    Mine is a fine. It is, without exception, my favorite fountain pen ever. It is my everyday, and sometimes my all day long writer and it has never once skipped a beat. I uncap it and it just writes - first time, every time. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely! I'd also say that the Lamy 2000 fine writes more like a medium/fine for me. I use Pilot Namiki Blue Black ink, which is a wettish ink, and I love pairing it with this pen. Full disclosure: I have no connection to Lamy nor do I have one to Anderson Pens. I just love this amazing fountain pen.

    I love this pen with EF nib as a daily writer. Nib is smooth and combination with wet ink like Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite gives exceptional writing experience. Fully agree with remarks on sweet spot of this pen.
    Thank you Mr Anderson.

      Can you help me in getting an approximate smoothness level of your Lamy 2000 EF, I have a Lamy Safari in Steel Fine nib , and I would give it 5/10 for smoothness, were would the 2000 lie?.. Thank you

    • @tomaszpietrzykowski4827
      @tomaszpietrzykowski4827 4 года назад +2

      Naarayan U Lamy 2000’s EF nib smoothness is 9/10. But it here smoothness goes with softness of gold nib. Steel nibs are a bit stiffer. Also, some of the inks have properties that nib glides on the paper.

    To be fair, even inked up and writing, it can be hard to tell when lamy nib size you have. They are kind of all over the place. Its the one big thing i dont like about lamy. My 2000 is supposed to be extra fine and is more broad then another pen with a medium nib. It would be nice if the fountain pen manufacturers standardized nib size like with rollerballs.

    Lamy 2000 stainless steel has three issues: too heavy, slips on hand while you're writing and nib doesn't gives so pleasant experience as Lamy 2000 Makrolon. For me, Lamy 2000 Makrolon is the perfect pen in any ways.

    True about parker 51 or even 21
    The design of parker 21 is superb I shy away from them to many of my other love for Montblanc, lamy studio, even lamy all-star has me going for them yet when I do grab a parker i do feel that from the ergonomics point of view this parker design has aced it
    Now that you have piqued my interest in Lamy 2000 will have to go for it in addition to Pilot VP that I have on my bucket list of pens to acquire
    Thanks for the nice video

    I hold mine above the section as you did . Took me a while to find that spot but I find it easier to control the pen . My only complaint is that I get an ink ring on the section about half way up the section . I've rinsed the section a couple time and it's still there .

    Hi great video 1st I’ve seen from you. Informative and interesting. I have the pen in stainless steel because you get an awful lot of weight for the extra cash making it a super substantial writing instrument and in the broad oblique. The carbon version also comes in an extra broad oblique here in the UK. It’s my go to pen when only a really heavy pen will do. And you’re dead on about the sweet spot. Thank you.

    The reason they marketed to men is because men and women used to know their roles in society. The men were in the workforce grinding it out to support their wives and only their wives who were at home holding down the fort and raising precious children. Nowadays you apparently have to be a biologist to even know the difference between a man and a woman. It’s one thing to market toward men, which is still done by the way, and other to say you can’t have this pen because you’re a woman. There are mens products and womens products and the lamy 2000 is a man’s product. 🍕🥃🧐✒️💪
