- A great feature of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000-series (7559 in this video) is the removable back that gives you access to upgrade the SSD, SATA hard drive, RAM, battery and WiFi card by removing one screw. In this video we take a closer look at the components inside and show you how to remove the 2.5-inch hard drive, a 9.5 mm - high 1TB Seagate ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB in this case.

My Inspiron 7559 is showing Error 43 for GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M. Even after installing W 10 Enterprise 64 bit, still showing Error 43. Since, Intel Grpahics 530 is integrated & GTX960M is Discrete (separately individual and distinct), can I replace the NVIDEA GTX960M with any other GPU? It is mentioned that DELL Inspiron 7559 is compatible with Ubuntu, Windown 7 64 bit and also Windowns 10 64 bit. Then I not not able to understand why it is showing error 43. Can you please advise?

I got the i7 edition which didn't come with an ssd. It was easy to install a samsung 256gb 850 evo. Plan on moving to dual channel 16gb ram as well. Also thinking of upgrading the wifi when I go to wireless AC in a year or so. Its a great machine as is, Dell didn't offer any upgrade options online, and thanks to this video I was able to do it myself.
Can i know how much price when you buy it, i search it on google all i see the spec is using intel i5skylake,gtx 960,8gb ram,1trb,its cost around 8.000$,i realy want to know the full name pf the product and the spec and the price the one that using i7,with gtx960,8gb ram,and1 trb harddrive,i can buy latter for the ssd,sory for my weird english.

Did you upgrade to the Samsung evo 256 gb yourself? Did you get any startup or boot issues or some issues trying to get it to ork in AHCI mode?
I just bought this Dell because I wrecked my dell Inspiron 15z trying to instal a Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB in that. I still want to use this SSD so maybe I an put it in my new laptop once it arrives.

I got the m2 version of the evo. I used Partition Master Free edition. www.partition-tool.com/download.htm
Just make sure you clone or copy the entire drive and not just the partition since windows creates multiple partitions. Also enable format to SSD, or something similar in the options.
Now I am just waiting on new dual channel ram.
can I confirm that the screw driver you used to remove the back plate is Philips no. 0?

Unfortunately, the GPU is soldered to the motherboard so there is no way to do this.

+Aditya Ravishankar It 'feels' quite bulky. 2.7 KG isn't backpack-friendly when the PSU weighs another 500 grams. That's approching 7 pounds in weight! For the performance and price though it's about right.

I have one of these myself. However, as of yesterday, it no longer turns on. Could you give me a hand?
Connect it to AC and try, to make sure nothing is wrong with the battery. Then try taking off the back plate, also still connected to the AC and check if any power indication lights are on. If not then there is a hardware fault, preventing power from being delivered to the PC. Could be as simple as a faulty charging cable or charging port. Otherwise your best bet is to take it somewhere to get it troubleshooted, there are too many possible reasons why it won't switch on to sit there troubleshooting it yourself.
You showed at 2:32 the wifi card, is there anyway to replace it?

They should have gotten rid of the spinning hard drive in favor of more battery. I would rather have a 100Wh battery instead of 74Wh and SSD only.

And finally, I installed the ram but the BIOS and Windows doesnt recognize it. Even when after install it, the system showed me a window with the message "RAM HAS CHANGED".
Why did you point at the fans and call them speakers? Aren't the speakers on the top side?

its soldered to the motherboard its not upgradeable unless you can get a gpu in ball grid array and the skills to remove the older and place the new one

I bought Dell Inspiron I7559 2512BLK one month ago, and I've noticed a problem with the speakers. The are popping , static & electric shock noise. when I'm using the headphones the problem still exist. I contacted dell support who told me to update the audio drivers 7 BIOS which I had already updated already. But the problem still exist! Please can anyone help with this?

According to my research, its better to install sata ssd; although Dell says that the PCIe works too. The PCIe has mixed comments. Others say it only supports sata ssd.

+Securus Nex I bought the wifi card myself and replaced it. What I found out was that the intel 8260 does fit, but you will not see any improvements whatsoever. The laptop is equipped with 1 receiver and 1 sending antenna (1x1) so by putting in a 2x2 wifi card, it actually does no good.

I have a 8260 in my Inspiron if that helps. It's just the NIC that limits this thing from having 2x2.

+Nuttapat Vimolratana It's a bracket around a normal HDD. You can reuse the bracket on your new SSD / HDD if you need to replace the HDD.

***** getting the 1TB would be cheaper than an ssd. Since ssd's are more expensive get that and getting a cheap 1TB drive would be around $50-60. I'm not certain on the prices and stuff but do some research as well.

the cpu is integrated into the mother board, the graphics card is somewhat near the fans

Nope. It's a soldered processor, and the full GTX 980 is not the card itself. It's just a chip that Nvidia provides to it's partners. If you want to upgrade your GPU get a GT80 or GT72 from MSI. They us MXM cards, which are swappable, but they are mobile cards, and will cost you a pretty penny ($800 for a 980M) If you want an upgradeable CPU, look into some of the Sager laptops that have a desktop CPU.

You can unplug the wireless card to free up the pcie, and use that for your external gpu, then just use a wireless usb dongle, or ethernet to connect to the Internet of required

Al, even I want to put the 512GB Samsung 950 Pro in the M.2 slot. But that's a PCIe NVME card, and people are saying that the slot only supports SATA (not even plain PCIe). Have you tried this?

Up to what size can the wifi card be supported to? It comes with a terrible 1x1 card and I want to replace it with a 2x2 if it is possible. If not are there are good 1x1 cards good for laptops that someone could reccomend
