I just had Juvederm Vobella for the first time yesterday. I don’t smoke, so my vertical lines are from generics.
It was painful (I admit) but I’m applying ice when needed because I’m swollen & I’m already seeing the beautiful results.
I just turned 43 a week ago & I was sick of looking at those vertical lines! I was afraid to get filler, but I’m glad that I did. I also went ahead & got Botox for the “11s” and that was my second time receiving Botox. I love how it looks when it “kicks in” & it looks natural still. I’m still swollen from the Vobella & the doctor gave me some anti-bruising gel to put on the lip area. I did have some injected into my lips as well, so 1ML of Juvederm Vobella and 28 units of Botox. Above my lips are a bit bumpy & lumpy, but I read that’s “normal.”
Now the weather is picking up, it’s time to get back to what I love doing & that is walking 😀

Exercise will not help with vertical lip lines because constant movement is one of the major causes of these lines. You can refer to the different treatments for vertical lip lines in the video. I hope this helps you.
Dr Prasad, I have never had lip filler done. I use lip balm since teenage cos I found my lips always dry no matter how much water I drink. Can filler make lips more hydrated and feel hydrated? Thanks.

Hyaluronic acid fillers attract water, and plump the lips, so they do make them look more hydrated, but they are not a replacement for lip balm or treat chapped lips. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Can you have a combination treatment of Botox and dermal filler in the smokers lines area? What order would they be injected & can they both be done within the same appointment or would you recommend a 2 week break between both treatments?

Botox and a hyaluronic acid filler in the mouth area can actually be done during the same treatment session. However, I would have to examine you in consultation before recommending for you. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Don't like looking at myself . I have smokers lines don't smoke . Age related . Have cheek implants . So face not so bad as if I did not have them l am 75.

Vertical lip lines can be caused by aging, as you say, and not due to smoking since you didn't have that constant suction motion common in smokers. They may still be treated if you would like to improve their appearance. I hope this helps you.

Is botox in the lip safe? Heard a lot of injectors have stopped doing this due to muscle weakness around the mouth causing a strange smile and drooling in some?🙁😕😦

The problems you have heard of are due to using too much Botox in the initial treatment. If Botox is placed conservatively at first, and more added after two weeks if needed, the issues you mention can be completely avoided. I hope this clarifies things for you.
