"requiring a unique method of taming" is a very nice way of saying "taming a shadowmane will break you to the point you'll revaluate your life and priorities"
just make a 2x2x3(high) box, hover over the box and let the shadowmane teleport to you, then leave render, go catch some fish in the Eden Zone, there's a kind of dried up river bed all the way east, and just a bit north of the big "lake", the only danger are piranhas and the hesperornis, then catch all your best multiplier coels, then go back to your dino and tame it from outside the box (its tail with "glitch" through the box and allow you to tame it)... its such an easy method and quick, especially if you do the Survive The ARK Gamma difficulty prior to taming the shadowmane. With the rates the cluster I play on, a 2.2x coal gives 44% (I believe it is 5x taming rates), yes that would be painful with 1x taming difficulty, but its doable for sure. The trick is to catch as many fishes as you can in the eden zone, then release it in water and cryopod them, then build your shadowmane trap near water so you can release one fish at a time from your cryopod (while in water) and re-basket it to feed. Costs a lot of material but so much more effective than anything else.
@@LeoTheYuty There is also a bit more information you might find useful for taming them; 1- When you have a shadowmane trapped, you can scan it with HLN-A to see if its a viable tame or not and decide if you want to kill it or tame it. 2- Once you trapped the shadowmane, go trap and cryopod your fishes as nothing else really matters now. 3- Once you trapped your fishes in baskets and then released them to be able to cryopod them, look at the time of the day it is. IF it is day, I would say wait until it is about 8 or 9pm (in-game, obviously), and initiate the Survive The ARK mission, the reason is that it takes about 1 hour (in-game, yet again) per stages, and there's 10 stages... so it should bring you to around 6-7am (yet again, in-game). THEN you can go back to the shadowmane and wait until it goes to sleep to crouch and tame it. The reason is that they won't go to sleep before 8:30am if I recall properly unless it "glitches", but there's no reliable way to glitch them. that's about it. this is the most valuable information I could give you to tame those dudes ;-)
well element is kind of an Antagonist since i think the king titan is made out of element so basicly in gen2 you are using and antagonist to defeat another antagonist wich used him
@@arkgamer742 I quite enjoy it as a solo survival game. On official settings, without the singleplayer box checked, the difficulty it pretty well balanced. I try to run around on foot as much as i can. Its enjoyable to explore and run for your life when a large predator happens by. Haha
My only complaint is the Redwood area is too small, like blink and you'll miss it small. For the longest time i thought there was no redwoods until i stumbled across it while flying around looking for tames and drops. By the time i finished saying "oh cool, redwoods" I was passed it. For those who don't know, Eden Ring, very top right corner.
PvE on Eden's side; closer to the "city", as Alpha dinos don't seem to spawn near there, but they spawn all around the mountains in the upper Eden, and in some places in the lower Eden as well. Otherwise, on any of the small "land pillars" would be your best bet. On Rockwell's side, it depends on what kind of dinos you have. Your best bet would still be around the "city" as shadowmanes don't seem to spawn nearly as much over there, and spinos either (as long as you're not near the river bed), but there are noglins spawning over there. If you have decent dinos or can tame some spinos, I would say the upper east area over there is the best, near the "spino lake ring" as I call it, its such a great way to level up your dinos. if you build on one of those "cliffs" right by the metal dam kind of thing, you can just get out of your place, kill spinos for levels, get back to your base. and the water is deep, so you can breed mosasaurs and whatnot as you wish.
In hindsight, I feel like Gen 2 was a bit over-hated, at least in my experience many did not favor this map much. I really like it though. Not only is the map surprisingly beautiful and huge in size, the DLC creatures are great, and the map is player-friendly and kinda lets you go at your own pace. You can probably tell I’m usually on single player though. Lol
Hi raasclark, can u make a video showcase on the noglin but focused on pvp, like what can a noglin controlled player can and can't do, can a noglin control an asleep player?. That would be fantastic thanks
Does anyone know how to fix this bug we encountered? We attempted star dolphin mission but it didnt load the creatures with a saddle and didnt allow any progress. We quit the mission but now its soft locked us. No one can access missions and no one can tame any creatures
Okay I get it you're trying to sell. I'm still trying to figure out how to pay the game like what buttons do what what subject of here.. what kind of strategy should I be taking do I build a base first do I collect how do I get the armored how do I us this space suit!
I play nondedicated host tell wild card let's go all ready no tether lost island fast flyer like maewing s+ TLC build gen2 work like can't get all the loot drops when I can't get in inventory
i reinstall genesis after watching this... and i uninstalled most of the dlc since it felt weird --like different theme, the ark ik is dino. and each dlc size is big as hell

I went through that horror just for a low level shadowmane, and then it got ripped apart by piranha.
just make a 2x2x3(high) box, hover over the box and let the shadowmane teleport to you, then leave render, go catch some fish in the Eden Zone, there's a kind of dried up river bed all the way east, and just a bit north of the big "lake", the only danger are piranhas and the hesperornis, then catch all your best multiplier coels, then go back to your dino and tame it from outside the box (its tail with "glitch" through the box and allow you to tame it)... its such an easy method and quick, especially if you do the Survive The ARK Gamma difficulty prior to taming the shadowmane. I would characterize Sir Edmund Rockwell as the game's "Antagonist". We, the survivors, are the games "Protagonists".

By far my favourite map 🗺️
Love the emotional music you chose 💚
Can't believe it's already 3 yrs, kudos to u raas, love how passionate you are about ark
0:32 i know that's just a detail, but i would rather say rockwell is the game's antagonist, anyway, very nice and helpfull video!
Step 1: Learn net engram,
Step 2: craft nets
Step 3: profit
that was such a good addition to the game
They can immobilize all creatures up to 500 drag weight, which includes Yuty, Mammoth, Quetzals, Basilisks and Rock Drakes
I do like the nets.makes taming a bit easier

If you can make a guide where's the spot that most suit to build on as PvE & PvE on both Eden Zone and Rockwell Garden would be good.
PVE any cliff near water works well here. PVP best spot is the water base location easy to defend.

Gen 2 is super interesting map to play and fun creatures to tame. It’s my resource map now.
