I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

This map really is the perfect map, every Biome, Maewings, Managarmrs, snow owls, three new creatures, giant map, lots of caves, lots of castles, temples etc. And a very high amount of caves and pve spots.
Is there any reason why my map looks different?

@@maxmustermann1533 It's possibly the worst. Played it for about half an hour and never played it again. Same can be said about crystal map.
I built right next to those air vents. It's a nice, central location, with quick access to 5 biomes and the air jets are great for getting quick height on a diving flyer, like and owl or maewing (both of which can be tamed near by).
I base there and use my Sino. So much easier for gliding when you get a boost lol

There is a big lake and a sorta mountain right around it
Very, very nice place, i was super tempted to build there but i wanted a treehouse base
I had a look around the place for metal nodes but didnt find anything unfortunately, did get slapped by a mana tho so be careful heading into the snow lol
Did the same thing and I think I have the best base on my server
I moved there from the central west coast with my pal, such a beautiful spot
I love the architecture of this map. The zones make sense via the topography. They also tended to put the right dinos into locations that would fit their lore. Smaller, more nimble creatures in the jungles makes sense as opposed to hulking behemoths.
Actually been my biggest concern with Fjordur. Swamp is an Island instead of being blended into the land proper. Oceana do not really exist, there is very little depth.
Lost Island in comparison looks believable.
@@Alte.Kameraden yeah lost island looks belivable and has very beautiful geography and biomes. I think that fjordur definetly has more content and looks different but if you don t like fantasy and like the tropics more than the ice this is a map you ll definetly love.
I feel like the scorched earth area is inspired by the continent of yokuda from the elder scrolls, because yokuda is the ancestral home of the red guard race, which in Tamriel, have settled in the province of hammerfell, an arid desert of a region.
The whole map is based off of elder scrolls lol
I love the map, but there's a fair number of problems the devs need to work on.
- Super concentrated ocean spawns
- Mesh problems
- Including *Alpha* Carnos *and* Aberrant Raptors in cave(s), making them *very* difficult, especially when you can't use big creatures throughout.
Not to mention missing resources on console. Still haven't found honey or giant beaver dams. Not to mention beavers sparely appearing in general.
The mesh problems are the biggest issue, IMO. They're especially horrible in the Ice Wyvern trench. You can fall through the map in many spots in the cave at the end of it. You can fall through cliffs all around it. And no nests/eggs spawn in it. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I don't mind alphas and aberrant raptors in caves. I think that's great. I like the danger and challenge.
The ocean spawns do seem off. I've gone through huge areas with nothing around. Then I've been in areas where sharks seemed to come out of the woodwork.
I really wish Wildcard cared more about getting things right.
I really love(d) this but it crashes and drops everything except survivor progress levels. I researched and it's common, heartbreaking and ruined because of it. As I said I researched and there is NO way to restore the files; unless someone HAS, but it doesn't seem so. I quit.
I agree with the mesh when I have a Sinomacrops on my shoulder I immediately mesh in water but I used a spawned in fjordhawk for eg or a micro raptor I don’t mesh
Is it me or am I the only one who has been cursed with a thousand leeches converging somewhere around the swamps close to the green ob? I swear there were at least 100 of them, all crawling out of the water in different directions at night with nothing but a torch on. It was nightmare-inducing!!!
I've never seen leeches on this map 😅 crazy though
lost island is basically just the island but with more biomes, more creatures, and a bigger map. its just a better map.
Just wish it didn't lag so much lol

Dinopithecus is dangerous but thylacoleo is still king of redwoods
The map is brilliant, but I can never seem to escape the jungle ngl, everywhere I go it’s jungle or swamp, like the og island, still a good map tho
All you have to do is say "this map returns to primitive" and boom no one complains. Even though there are OP shoulder flyers, magmasaurs made a joke to raise, all 4 wyvern types present, x and r variants, abnormally intense lag, easy managarmrs with no counters, easy boss for element, and feroxes.
Iirc managarmrs were one of the biggest complaints about extinction, and they are even easier to tame that before. You have net gun.
I love your map vids, this map seems amazing the best so far since it has all the engrams unfortunetly only 1 boss, hope Fjordur brings all engrams too.
I never cared for bosses as i hate having my work revoked so i wouldnt sacrifice dinos in bossfights

Raasclark you made a bit of a mistake there buddy. Lost island isnt the first map to introduce more than 1 new creature as ragnarock added both the griffin and ice wyvern both were new creature to official ark. The ice wyvern might only be a vairaint but its still a new creature same with val and the different wyvern types on there again they might only be vairient but they are still new creatures.
One map to rule them all. Really fun, but damn so much rexes and carnos it's annoying sometimes. They just wiped big parts of a green and blue zones for me.
The one map to rule them all would obviously be genesis 2 +this map.
@@Haildarklordvader genesis 2 is honestly so cool, could go into a lot about it but my favorite addition besides the infinite tek suit is 110% the reapers.

Why does your entire video look like it has some sort of fuzzy filter on it making everything look grainy? I tried changing all the resolution settings, but the entire video looks weird, all of the back ground elements look like there are 2 videos super imposed on top of one another like a bad newspaper alignment. What did you record this with??

I tamed two low level Yutis for kibble and a female 140 rex to go with my 150 male i tamed a while back. now im happy!

Ah the way you present the map makes me want to start fresh again. Our cluster and the people rushed it so hard and were done and gone within a 1-2 week span of time and now everyone is bored again. Our players have the attentionspan of a 7 year old haha. Anyway the map is nice yes but the fog.. that damn friggin fog and the fps drops when facing redwoods...otherwise yes, fun map, fun dungeons and.. 10/10 caves behind waterfalls!
6:03 oh no they dont have the shirt
Not sure why but in my map the ocean near the dessert has an overspawn of x-dunky and other water creatures. Which really makes it harder to roam around there.
No it’s not just your map, I’ve also run into this problem
There’s a ton of alpha mosa’s and teuso’s for me, It’s nice to have a lot of them but I’m pretty sure no sea creature can take on 3 alpha mosas all at once

Raas I love your videos but I can't find the caves using your coords. I spend hours searching the general area and end up stumbling across them or give up because they are not anywhere to be found. Once inside your instructions are bang on. They really do help, thanks for the info.
"Easily tamed sinomacrops" my bummbumm... haha. Doing it as intended is almost impossible. Fortunately signs still work.
Next to blue is very good spawn for new people no death only turtles and mantas and some ichthyosaurs in the lake next to the spawn

Oil veins can be found at the bottom of the map in the desert as well as near the volcano

The maewing is easily the best flier in the game.
I think it was underappreciated in Gen 2, because of the free tech suits, but it's much more useful on a map where you don't start with tech.

I built a base in the middle castle area and north there is a cave with metal and crystal behind a waterfall this is one of my favorite maps
Hey Raas, not a lot of people are talking about this, but apparently a lot of Xbox players are having SE and AB pretty much unplayable for about two months now. No loot drops, no artifact spawns, no Rock Drake/Wyvern eggs spawning and whenever you try to do the bosses, it just teleports you to the middle of the map. Could you please do a video about it to raise some awareness for the issue?
Finally someone’s talking about it. I just started ark not long ago and had no idea what was happening but really ruined the game for me. Hopefully this gets fixed…

Technically speaking crystal isles introduced more than 1 new dino, the three wyverns, but noone will count that tho it is true

Anyways just finished your series of videos great work on every one! I'm a casual ARK player but I learned useful tips for the maps I dont normally play -usually the Island or Valguero - and even for those two I learned a lot
And fact check gen2 is way bigger, the free Fed suit makes it feel small

Are there two sunken ships? I explored one thoroughly and didn't see an artifact. There were no artifacts, none of that underwater vegetation, and no animals at all. I went to those pillar islands by the desert and was down there for probably an hour.

@@Raasclark I getcha. Cause I find the wreck at 78.3 20.5 and there's nothing but an empty shipwreck there, and when I go to the 82.5 16.3 in this video I find no shipwreck at all. Just super lost and confused.
