As a woman of similar build, but a few more years and pregnancies under my belt, I've got to agree - finding swimwear to be comfortable in is a HUGE challenge. Of course, not many women have 20.5" torsos like me (more appropriate to a 6'2" man than a 5'6" woman), which makes it nigh impossible to find a one-piece suit. I wore my maternity suit for years afterward because excess would stretch up once no longer needed to stretch out, then bike romper which fortunately came in tall/long torso). Miranda, would you be comfortable sharing the size you wear in Nani? And the Kula Pyka hybrid shorts if you please. Been eyeing those since I saw your video on them, but tbh, too expensive (esp. to Canada) to get the sizing wrong...
Ordered the same suit for my wife. We’ve looked at them since you first started talking about Nani, but finally just decided to get her one. INFLUENCER INFLUENCED ME 😂
Thanks, I’ve been looking for a new day pack since my cheapie one from Walmart’s straps keep hurting my shoulders. I’ve thought about Gregory based on your previous packs, but was hesitant when reading reviews about the reservoir leaking. Also, I think the swim suit looks great. I noticed it last time too. I prefer more vintage-y looking swimsuits with more coverage, so it’s a win for me.
Nemo’s website says it’s “Smokey Olive,” so I might give it a tie on the main color (although I personally think that if there’s some green in the gray, it moves it into the green column). But I have to agree with orange for the rest. Sorry, Rainer.
I would love to see an updated “Dehydrated Backpacking Meals”! Maybe it could be a series? I go back and watch yours on REI almost weekly! Love the channel! 🎉
I've not watched every video of yours (yet), but now that you are no longer a vegan, perhaps you have some expanded backpacking menu options to share? (although I'm a fan ofall but the fried/dehydrated dill pickle suggestions, lol). @@MirandaGoesOutside
I would like to point out that the last color disagreement Miranda and I had I was the winner in the comments, so I guess what that says is that Miranda and I combined can see colors correctly about as good as one normal person. 😂
They call it dark olive. It's definitely on the dark grey end of olive/taupe, however, and may look different depending on the light. But it's absolutely meant to be a toned down green with a "fiery" orange.
Olive green and orange totally. Also I think Nemo did the hip belt that way to make it more comfortable when you’re not using them. When I travel, I use my daypack but don’t need the hip straps and I hate how they dangle around and tickle my legs. Seems like Nemo’s system helps avoid that. More of the one-pack-to-rule-them-all!
Nice review! Wondering how this pack fits plus size hikers or if they will have extentions for the hip belt available. With Gregory and Osprey having extended packs I really think it's worth it for other companies to join in the market. We're out here and have money! Oh, and another vote for green and orange.
@@schulzbrianr They look very true in the video to real life to me. I concede - it’s a gray with some serious green in it, haha! I might be out $100 here. 😂
The Nemo website describes it as “smokey olive,” so you’re both right about the base color. The trim looks orange (deep, definitely with some reddish tones) on my mobile device.
What's the color temperature of the lights in the room. No seriously. I see grey-green and orange but room lighting, and initial experience embeds the expected color in of an object into our subconscious.
The lighting and nearby colors are going to affect each person's perception. I have multiple pair of gray shoes that go green under fluorescent lighting. If you put that pack next to something that is a yellow orange (University of Tennessee orange or the flag of the Republic of Ireland) the accents will probably look more red. Color is a super interesting cultural phenomenon beyond its basic physical "reflection of certain wave lengths" properties.
Green and Orange without a doubt! Good review, it will be interesting given your online influence to see if they make that small change to the water bottle pockets. Although what's a small change to me is probably hundreds of thousands of dollars to Cam and the good folks at NEMO, given production schedules and design charges.
First off - green and orange, what the heck was Rainer thinking?! Secondly - Miranda, you could literally be my body double, extra-thick braids and all! Thank you for showing me *me*, in your Nani swimwear. I needed that today.
Deuteranomaly color blindness is the most common form, which causes you to see enhanced reds and duller greens. Sorry Rainer! Thanks for the review, you guys. The pack looks really sturdy and useful.
In the video it looks greenish (the colour is called smokey olive, so it'd be real weird if it was a straight gray. The accents look very clearly orange to me. To me, if it has any kind of hue and not just on the black-white spectrum, then it isn't really gray. This bag is definitely more green than gray.
Great video. I've used my CamelBak Mule for probably 20 years for biking and day hikes. I never understood "big" day packs, but makes sense if it's raining and if you have spikes. Strap pockets are nice. I need to make some for my Mule, now. 😊😊
The bigger ones are nice for me because I'm new to hiking so I'm still learning as I go. For now I'd rather be over-prepared. The little bit of extra weight is fine too because it'll result in more calorie burn and I can definitely afford to lose a few (ok, a couple dozen) pounds 😂

Hi! I don't think a laptop would fit - but NEMO does make a pack that's a great crossover between a daypack for hiking and a commuter bag. It's called the Vantage! check it out here: alnk.to/7X4zaqA
That hip belt design is interesting.. it may take getting used to but I wonder if it is more ergonomically easy to use and also if it helps negate this issue I have with constantly quick releasing the hit belt on my daypacks when I bend around too much. I’m always yanking my hip belt to tighten it because i accidentally loosen them when I’m scrambling or bending forward 😂 Also I have an outdoor research pack with shoulder pockets and I agree shoulder pockets are a total game changer! And also fixes the problem of my phone getting wedged in my hip while doing those same bending/scrambling movements. Also.. green and orange 😂😂
You should review the Vantage pack. It's not a hiking backpack but I would definitely use it as a day pack. It's main point is it's versatility. You can use it as a day pack, a travel bag, a sport bag, a work bag... This pack is incredible!
Definitely Green/Orange 🍊 I would be interested in knowing how hot it gets in warmer weather. It doesn't look like there's any suspension, which is fine for a day pack, but the layers for the adjustable back can get hot, and with a new fabric type, I feel like this could go either way.
I wonder how much is the lighting/the way it comes across on screen - not so much for this one, I defo agree w/Miranda though grey-GREEN and red-ORANGE best description. But IIRC, I agreed more with Rainer the last time there was a colour disagreement... wish I could remember which vid it was to double check...
My husband and I officially disagreed on the color. My sight was the men's bag is green and orange. His Gray and Orange. Then I pointed at the women's bag and said 'THAT'S GRAY' and he replied 'WHat? That's purple!' 🤷♀️ We also see the infamous blue/black dress as different colors too and now I'm curious what colors you both see 'the dress' as!
Gray with a slight green undertone, and definitely orange accents. Pay up, Rainer. Miranda, your body is BEAUTIFUL! I hope you find confidence in it as you have in your quirky jokes, personality, and body functions.
Grey and orange... I'm watching this video on an OLED screen with HDR enabled, just for reference. Not sure if the lighting in your house makes a difference or not. The Nemo website says it's "Smokey Olive" so I'm assuming the color is supposed to be a very greyed and weathered green color. IDK, though, I'm just a viewer. 🤷
I mean, colour doesn't always transfer perfectly onscreen, and you are both right to an extent, but Miranda is definitely more right, sorry Rainer! Greyish-GREEN and red-ORANGE... Not the first time you've had this argument, eh?
Sage green and orange. Almost the same as my old flight jacket (sage green and bright orange lining). Sorry Rainer. What about a head-to-head comparison between the Nemo, and similar Osprey, Gregory, and REI day packs?
Looks interesting! Unfortunately it's not (yet?) for sale in Europe. I do wonder how the pack sits on bigger bodies? I am a plus size person but have a short back, so it's tricky to find a pack that doesn't hurt my lower back. (Unfortunately the Gregory plus size backpacks aren't available in Europe). I have been looking for a comfortable daypack for sooo long! To my surprise the Kanken laptop 15" is the most comfortable pack I have been able to find (because it sits high on my back), so I would love to find something a bit better. I like the look of this pack, but I wonder if the wide shoulder straps are compatible with a bigger bust? And wil the hipbelt accommodate generous hips? And/or can it be worn without the hipbelt (that is something I feel very self conscious about)? As often is the case I prefer the men's colour (sorry Rainer, it's green, but if I adjust my screen colours a bit it's grey, so I can't honestly say what colour it is in real life 😉). But that is a minor issue. I look forward to seeing more (inclusive, both in size and in availability) reviews!
Olive and orange!!! Pay up bud! What’s the little orange thingy you have dangling off the small strap of the bag? Great review - I’ve ordered a men’s bag to start my training hikes for the upcoming fall.
re the end of the video: I hate hate HATE gendered colors on backpacks. I really want one of those cute purple Ospreys and it will never be. REI's "solution" of offering two ugly colors to both men and women (but stocking one color for men and stocking the other for women) is better, but still a long way from that cute purple. These two color options from NEMO also are a bit rough.
Well... Definitely not red accents. I can see how I might describe that as gray... But it is also tinted that yucky green color as well. Definitely owe her $50 to $75. In your defense, I certainly would be looking for the WRONG bag if it was described to me as green bag with orange accents.
Ranier, when I heard you say, gray and red, I was going WOW, I'm color blind. Sorry brother, I see green and orange. Perhaps, grayish green? Still orange tho. Great video Miranda!
When I took color samples from the image, I got 2 colors; I got color codes #696767 and #6B6662. #696767 color code designation is "dim gray", #6B6662 while "Hazelwood", which is considered by google a "deep gray". SO, Gray for the main body . Sorry Rainer, its not worth my time for the straps. They are clearly orange XD.
The Nani swimwear got my attention during your first plunge (brrrrrrr). I like that you are modest in what you wear. Being self conscious can be difficult at times but being modest shows self respect (coming from a 69 year old woman that is overly modest). Keep up the great work, I love your vids.
The pack looks great, I’m a huge Nemo fan . I’ve used my Dagger Tent for many years now an just love it. I just have a few questions if that’s okay? Was wondering if there are more color options? If not, are there plans to do that? Would like to see a yellow and red :P Also wish they had added a rain fly, even though it’s water resistant I would’ve liked that, and for night hikes or evening hikes I would have liked to have seen some sort of reflective material used, even just a bit of reflective tape sewn on, just for safety concerns. My last question. Is there a straw hook for my camel back hose on either strap for easy drinking access? Thanks Miranda.
The men’s bag was seen as green/orange, by 2 of us, but we disagreed about the women’s bag 😂. Women’s bag as gray/whitish and mauve/some light colored strap. 😅😅
Great review, thank you! How would you compare this pack to the Osprey Talon 22? That's one that gets a lot of positive reviews., and is under consideration. Thank you!
Thank you for the review. Personally I don’t care if it is made out of recycled materials. It’s expensive piece of gear and recycled materials can be used for cheaper bulkier items - like a daily fleece, tarps, furniture etc. Still Nemo Eq is a very interesting company and their designers are doing great job.
Not fair to judge color on screen because the lighting changes colors. You know this if you ever ordered something online and expected dark purple but got navy blue etc. I saw both combos depending on how close the camera and lights were to the bag. I think a "on the street" poll would be a better metric. I heard NEMO had their backpack plan in the works for 25 yrs so....
1) Will a water bottle fit into the shoulder strap pockets? Like a Smart Water bottle or Katadyn BeFree? 2) Is there room on the shoulder strap to attach a Peak Design Capture Clip?
Greenish-Grey, and Definitely Orange Accent. It is leaning towards the burnt orange look (which involves a little bit of red) but it's definitely still firmly in the orange section of a color wheel :P
Im a little concerned about how short the padded portion of the hipbelt is. How will this work for folks with larger waist sizes? Will it comfortably transfer the load on to the hips? Or is this more a stability hipbelt like we see with other small-ish capacity day packs (i.e. REI Trail 25)?

The men’s bag was seen as green/orange, by 2 of us, but we disagreed about the women’s bag 😂. Women’s bag as gray/whitish and mauve/some light colored strap. 😅😅
Great review, thank you! How would you compare this pack to the Osprey Talon 22? That's one that gets a lot of positive reviews., and is under consideration. Thank you!
Sorry Rainer that is definitely and Olive Green & Orange pack. And yes, wish the Men’s version came in more colours.
You’re reviews are always ally god, thanks for the info. Have fun spending the $100 from the orange and green bag.
Also, congrats on the $100 Miranda. Sorry Rainer...that's Green and Orange for sure!
Subtly green but still green and orange!
Grey-Green & Orange my guy. Miranda just made an easy $100! Also, I think your producer might need an eye exam lol
