The see-through door at the club on New Alexandria, I had noticed that but I assumed it was supposed to be a reflection of the buildings behind the player.
3:13 The grenade freaking out has the same results as the one in your Halo 3 video. If I had to guess, its just that the corner of the map (Halo 3) and the pool of water (Reach) don't have any actual material physics attached to it...or perhaps what it does have lacks anything relating to grenade behaviour.
that's because there are civilians in the bunker when New Alexandria is getting glassed. you can hear a few of them talk in the cutscene. odd they didn't match audio with those subtitiles.
Yeah where you hear “ hurry close the doors” when they’re dragging Kats body in that’s a civilian unfortunately I think the building fell and killed a lot of them hence why you don’t see them in the last part of the cutscene
I've been playing so much Reach recently, and since 2010 really, and most of these were unknown to me. I knew about the flippable objects because I was messing around with the garbage trucks with the missing door animations, seeing if you can get them to the end of the mission, past the Scarabs or use them in an offensive capacity (hint: no). Is the Club Errera thing not supposed to be a reflection of the buildings behind the player? Maybe it was on purpose. I would believe "mistake" over purpose, though. Also, did you know that the Target Designator regenerates uses on lower difficulty settings? You also get one extra use from the start, of course, but each area (com relay, AA gun) gives you another. Also: you mentioned that giving a marine a weapon gives the player infinite ammunition if taken back after they reload it, while discussing the broken reload animations. How do you do that trick? Or did I misunderstand? Also, fun fact: the ambient Banshees on Exodus, the ones that turn up and pursue you during the gunship sequence, have no drivers either. If you carefully pay attention to them, by looking the other way while the civilian transport is taking off and being shot down, they stop being animated by whatever code is running them and they fall out of the sky as if the pilots had ejected. This can also be seen in other places, especially where scripted fights are occurring, and where actually having an occupant would make them unpredictable and possibly broken, as well as tying up extra system resources.
For the marine reload glitch you just swap weapons with them as soon as your weapon is empty and your reloading animation begins. The marine will then finish reloading it but it will still have the reserve ammo you had. Like in the video there was 176 spare ammo, a magazine was emptied, but after the glitch it was complete again and still had 176 spare ammo.
@@IvoryRune that's crazy, I didn't know that was a thing at all. Unsure where that might be useful. LNoS in the launch complex, to quickly put together 8 missiles? You usually have to farm the everlasting beach combat scene. Still, a cool trick. Thanks for telling me how it works.
