I love how Gary Numan has managed to remain relevant in modern music, transitioning from 80's mainstream success to a more modern, underground presence with his heavier sound and increasing popularity in the modern goth, industrial, and underground electronic crowds.
Hes done such great work, its a shame most people only remember him for 'Cars' !!!

His early albums from Tubeway Army to Dance were actually quite dark. Cars is all about paranoia, isolation and social breakdown really (he was influenced by JG Ballard) His early work is riddled with it. Where he is from Sacrifice to The Fallen you can hear traces of in

The most important artist, though not the godfather of Electronic greatness, he brought it out into the light. Still releasing great music still relavent .
