The U.S. Military Academy at West Point's mission is "to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army."

Congratulations. We lived there for two years it’s amazing what they go thru and the parades but graduating and ceremony was the best. God bless you all on your future journeys
West Point, is the absolute best of the best. I was a Cadet, at Mount Saint Joseph Military Academy it was just across the river, on the weekends a couple of the cadets would come across and teachers drumming and bugling, always learning to play snare drum, and that was a start of my beginning with drum and bugle Corps. I competed with both state and National organizations. At that time I never thought I would be so involved with drumming. I no longer play due to a hand injury and age. Today is May 31st 2023. Congratulations to all the cadets that have graduated. It is a great honor to say that you went to West Point Military Academy. President Trump attended, a military academy as well winning many honors, sorry I do not remember the name of his school. God Bless America and all the cadets, and God bless, President Donald Trump.

In 1960-1962 my dad was stationed in West Point. I was in k-2nd grade. My sunday school teacher was a. Cadet. He wore his uniform. I'll never forget.

This parade field was full of real heroes, the sons and daughters of so many families all across our Great Nation. They are the future leaders of our Army, the ones who will be responsible for leading so many more sons and daughters. Each and everyone of you now must face the challenge daily, to "Be All You Can Be" on and off duty. Part of that is going to be the kind of leader that your Soldiers will willingly want to follow. With all the challenges our Soldiers face, it is you that must stand up for them by not allowing them to become victims of harassment, instilling in them the will to accomplish what they felt they can't. I wish everyone of you the very very best. Go out there, make your parents proud of you and "Lead By Example!!!!!"

Word of advice for the graduates.
If you're the type make fun of people, (even behind their back) you don't stand a chance of remaining in the Army.
If you do do that, your unit will be incohesive. Best to try avoid saying anything bad about anybody.
When you get assigned to your unit you should say as little as possible until you see that particular unit works.

When I was a military musician pass and reviews were the most boring of events. You'd play the same march 20 time in a row, and it was for a mechanized division it included jeeps, tanks and helicopters, sometimes horses.
The sound is gone ar 12 minutes and it lasts a while
It used to be a smart snappy vibrant march ..in great cadence and straight line ..some cadets look tired and have arched backs not straight and snappy

Now, how about you go out and hire a sound engineer? Even if you use him/her on this ONE day a year! Seriously though, do you mean to tell me that with all the IQ points standing on that parade deck, not ONE of those young people knows how to run a sound mixing board?!
In fact, hire a director, too! I understand the tradition, the uniform codes, and the codes of conduct, but you KNOW the order of events before they take place since it's YOUR parade, right? Yet, our viewpoint (through your camera lens) shows no correlation between orders given and orders being followed. This isn't your first foray into the world of streaming services, and judging by the 214,000+ views as of this posting, there is interest in this video documentary. Why not, then, make it as memorable a thing as you can make it for anyone who takes an hour out of their day to watch?

Women cannot serve in a Combat Zone but they can serve in any other form.
Women have been able to service in combat since 2013, with all jobs becoming available in 2016.
