    I have had the Eye mini for a couple of months. I have nothing but good things to say. I wanted to ditch the ethernet cord and go wireless, and I did struggle with that a little bit. I wound up doing a phone session with their support team. They did a remote session on my computer and got everything running perfect. I highly recommend letting them optimize your system if you plan on using this with a computer. The reason I chose the Eye mini versus the launch Pro is the ongoing subscription fees. 500 bucks plus another 250 for GS Pro just seemed ludacris. $199 for ball and club is still annoying, but much better to me.

    Funny how many people are irked by how slow the SkyTrak data shows up…I had the original SkyTrak and actually liked it. It gave me the time to try and determine what I think my ball would do based on how the strike felt to me…

      Update: I bought a SkyTrak+ this week…I see in the settings for the shot tracing you have the option of “immediate” or “regular.” I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m guessing you can get the trace quicker than the original SkyTrak…

    Top notch run-through with lots of detail! One note of clarification - the Pro Package does not include access to Refine or Refine+ as was mentioned around 17:33. Pro Package only gives access to the third party connection. To get Refine, users would need to get the Champions Package for $399 or do a full unlock. To me, an extra $200 for Refine makes no sense when GSPro is only $250.

    • @breakingeighty

      Ah thanks for the clarification there! And yes, I'd agree that at that price, it makes more sense to go with GSPro for sure.

      @@breakingeighty I own an Eye Mini, and FYI there is another, (poorly documented if documented at all) way to unlock 3rd party access permanently. The Uneekor sales guy informed me about this and explained as follows: If you buy either the Refine or Refine+ software outright ($1k or $2k respectively), 3rd party becomes permanently unlocked. I can confirm this worked for me by buying the Refine license.

    As an owner of an EyeMini, this is a great review. If you're thinking range and GSPro, it's a really good option. It does come with a LOAD of those stickers, so don't worry. Also, they're offering an alignment "stick" now. From what I've seen, it's well worth ordering it from them. Overall, decent unit. If you have problems with the wifi, update with the beta firmware and it's all sorted.

      If I were in your position where I'm an instructor building an indoor sim, then I'd probably do exactly that. Buy the GC3 (if a Quad wasnt in the cards), pay one time and be done with it. You're already at $4k if you get a club data Launch Pro - so at that point you can write off the full cost of the GC3 which makes it a little more tolerable and don't have to worry about constantly changing pricing.

      To be clear it's incredibly capable software. You'll be able to get all the data you could ever want and then some. But it's primarily geared towards club fitters. If you're just an average person who isn't a total data nerd, I've found the UI to be not super intuitive or particularly enjoyable to use - especially when compared to other options out there. BUT, I have no doubt it will absolutely serve your needs - I just tend to prefer the software from other brands.

    Let me first say I love your videos. I bought a Kobalt rangefinder based on your review and I love it. This is all incredibly confusing. Way to much to consider. I want a portable and accurate launch monitor that gives me distance, disbursement, and some club info (I don't even know what I want/need for club info). Primarily used on a backyard net and at the range. I would like to see ball path but don't need a simulator. I don't want a subscription and I don't want to need the IT Department to set it up. Is there such a thing? The average golfer needs a plug and play solution. It seem like the tech is still in development and there will be a breakthrough that makes it easy and affordable. Apple Launch Monitor lol?

      I think the question you should ask yourself is whether or not having supported access to GS pro is important to you. I had issues with the SkyTrak plus but I had one of the first ones delivered and the problems I have could be resolved now. I decided not to keep it because GolfTec was totally nonresponsive when I reached out to them so I had no choice but to return my unit because it was either defective or required. Significant updates. I couldn’t get. to be honest I really wanted it to work but for me it just didn’t. In a way I’m lucky because I am completely satisfied with my eye mini which I got at a sale price and has excellent integration with GS pro.

For $5500 all in for Uneekor unlocked, with the GSPro subscription, will this sim experience be much improved?

      If you plan to use GSPro, there is probably little reason to unlock for 2k unless you either really really hate subscriptions, or you also want to use Refine. Because the 199 a year turns on the 3rd party connector so you can use GSPro. That would make your annual total only 450 per year.
      I’ve had my mini for a month, and because it’s so new there are a few quirks that they are working through with updates, but it’s an amazing unit and def worth the price. especially if you pick it up for 3500, which is what it is priced at through Christmas.

    There is a lot to like with Eye Mini but also a few downsides, fortunately the downsides are mostly common to all launch monitors in this price range.
    1. The lack of bluetooth and the cumbersome wifi connection to PC are completely standard across so many launch monitors but also completely unforgiveable in 2023. This is not a cost issue, the additional cost of including this type of feature is minimal, it is just lazy design.
    2. Then there is the need for an additional subscription of at least $199 simply to allow you to hook the unit to 3rd party simulator software. We need to be clear to launch monitor manufacturers - this is price gouging and encourages them to not put the effort in to develop high quality simulator software.
    For me it is the second point which is the deal killer. Eye Mini is a great device, I would really like to buy one but if they want to treat me as a fool with the subscription con they are off my buy list. Their loss not mine

    • @EduardoEspinosa-j7c
      @EduardoEspinosa-j7c Год назад

      What simulator do you use then?

    • @knifewrenchaf
      @knifewrenchaf Год назад +1

      I’ll sort of defend the companies here. What they are doing makes a lot of sense. With the eye mini and the bushnell, we are getting a units at a discount. These are essentially 6k dollar machines, but the company is willing to take the loss up front with the guarantees future revenue. It provides options to buyers.
      If the subscription is a deal breaker, then the buyer should look at the unlocked gc3, or pay the extra 2k for the eye mini.
      I’ll admit, I’d love a 3rd party connector unlock on the mini, without refine, for say $1k bucks. But I think they know too many people would choose that.
      With the number of companies getting into the market, the situation may change in the coming years. But I dont think we can can blame the current manufacturers of not providing options.

      Hey there @justinstephenson9360
      I agree about the subscription model aspect. Not a fan. I bought myself an Eye Mini though, because as I commented elsewhere, I was pretty happy to learn that you can unlock 3rd party permanently by buying the Refine or Refine+ software outright (sales guy told me about this). It's still a chunk of cash ($1k or $2k depending on the version you go with), but as a one time payment, it makes it a little easier to digest.

    BLP is a better more constant unit.

    • @knifewrenchaf
      @knifewrenchaf Год назад +4

      I’d challenge this assertion. I agree that the bushnell is outstanding (well I have only ever hit on a GC3, not BLP, but same thing). It’s very consistent and you get an extra dose of comfort knowing it says foresight on it.
      However, after owning the eye mini for a month, I can attest that it is right there with it.
      Tested against a quad, of course the gc3 may align a bit closer because they are using the same calculation formula, measuring club speed from the same point, etc.
      There are only two issues I have seen with uneekor software.
      1. Carry distance on low spin hooked driver shots. A low hooked driver shot off the high toe has low spin. Uneekor software calculates carry as being too long on this, because the ball would drop out of the air in real life. But instead you can get a long carry due to the low spin. Again, only really happens on a high toe shot when you really turn it over. Chances are the shot in real life would be OB anyway, uneekor just has you OB 40 yards further than it should be.
      2. Club data inconsistencies - people talk about this online, and I have seen it. But I have experimented and determined that it has a lot to do with how shiny your irons are, and lighting. Different loft irons reflect my bright led lights in my garage differently (my irons are mirrored on the toe). So that reflection throws the unit off a bit. Lights off, the issue goes away. My driver has a black face and I don’t see the issue at all. Swing speed is very consistent. That said, swing speed is a couple mph higher vs when measured on track man. I believe this is due to measuring on the toe, but word is there is a software release in beta that changes this.
      Sorry for the novel. But wanted to share my experience to whoever it is helpful to

      @aarongates1171 Год назад

    I wouldn't go with the 2 grand full unlock because I just want a launch monitor that I can use with gspro...
    So, going with the $199/year to unlock gspro seems like the better deal.
    If I unlock fully for 2k, I'm not going to use the mid-tier sub stuff, I'm just gonna use gspro.
    That's 10 years worth of what I'd be willing to pay for gspro compatibility.
    10 years worth of better and cheaper tech coming out. No thanks
