Something that always stood out to me about Impaled Nazarene compared to other black metal bands is that they aren't afraid to let the bass be heard. It's surprising how much better a metal song can sound with just a little more bass

There's tons of BM bands with a loud bass. Besides that - IN have always been different and heavily influenced by Crust and Hardcore Punk.
