- Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration quietly signed a new $40 million agreement this week with Kansas-based Favorite Healthcare Staffing to continue to staff the city’s migrant shelters through October of next year, NBC Chicago’s Bennett Haeberle reports.
It's INSANE to expect taxpayers to pay to care for adult illegal alien Federal lawbreakers. If city and state governments have so much extra cash, they ought to lower taxes or give the taxpayers a REFUND. Certainly it's NOT the responsibility of local taxpayers to care for non- citizens when actual citizens are falling through the cracks. It's cheaper to send them back. They should fix their own countries.

I actually traveled from CA to Chicago to work for them. I made 28$, 7 days a week 12 hr shifts. 2 days off a month. They are pocketing all that money, the salaries are that high because of all the overtime worked. Also, out of the 60 that did the orientation, legit only 1 person was actually a Chicago local. They are lying when they said they pay for our housing and transportaion, they switched all contracts to local to also pocket that cost but still hired travel workers. SO, they are pocketing sooo much more than they care to admit.

A friend of mine, stated that he wanted to get a job with Favorite, and was told that since he did not speak Spanish, he could not get hired. People use devices that can translate from one language to another. Many people that travel to different countries use them, but that was not a consideration. Thus, these are positions for the Spanish speaking community. These jobs should be open to all. I am sure some of the immigrants speak English.
I worked for them. Literally, lie. 80% of the staff there dont speak spanish, they just had another person who did speak spanish do their spanish screening questions on the phone. Dropping the cost from approximately $207,360 a year to approximately $172,800 a year for one nurse is still TOO much for the taxpayers. Before the migrants, the cost was $0.00. We are getting robbed. In my neighborhood there are about 4 families in a one block radius asking for food and money. I asked one of them if they were getting fed and she said yes, but they did not like the food being served. I eat almonds for dinner since I cannot afford much anymore. My tax money is paying for meals that I wish I could get.

If all nothing would happen besides bankruptcy for the city. This can never happen in a large city for 1 simple reason. Employment. In you're heavily populated states/cities government is generally one of the largest employers. In Illinois the government I believe is the 3rd largest employer in the state. Chicago is one of the largest employers in the city. Generally to work a city job you have to live in the city, So you will always have a population due to the political machine here that would never budge solely due to employment.
