FSmash for ZSS is borderline unusable. Up Smash and Down Smash are both really useful though. EDIT: Literally the only time FSmash is better than Up B that I can think of is if you 2-frame someone with Down Smash, because you can tilt your fsmash downwards to follow it up, but that is way too situational for Fsmash to be considered a viable move.
"Mega Man sucks" my older brother says "He's the most complex and hype zoner out of all of them" he says Every time, I just know that he doesn't even play him well
I mean heres my argument against Falcon f-smash: 19 frames startup and -27 on shield meaning they can do almost anything against you if you miss and then can probably react to it as well. down-smash: comes out 19/29 and is -19/-7 on shield meaning you can probably react and just punish it unless you are already committed to something like air-dodging or spot-dodging. up-smash: Yeah this move is insane but if including set ups into the move (which they were doing) then the move doesn't really have any of that.

Bowser is probably top tier but no shot he’s Top 5. They’re too punishable on block. Also has the issue of Up Smash being the best one but being outshone by Up B as an OoS option and Up tilt as an anti air.
Upsmash is very good nontheless. And even if it is punishable on block, you just assume we're so immensely dumb to threaten your full shield with smash attacks. Bowser has good tools to condition you to not shield. Fsmash would only be used as hard read or shield break punish, which in the latter case you can do absolutely nothing about it because strangely it's harder to mash out at 0 than it is at higher percents. If you think Bowser is about spamming smashes like there is no tomorrow without ever being smart about it then ur right

As a Roy main, up-smash might actually have some kind of use if both the scoop hitbox and the actual hitbox on the sword didn't have the girth of a toothpick. It's just one step away from Hero's up smash, honestly.
I don't main Roy, but have played him off and on. I think his Up-Smash is actually pretty good. It's a multi hit so to me it wasn't that hard to land, since you're basically like a fire wall for 11 frames that scoops anything that touches you and starts on frame 12. So to me it's really good for catching techs on platforms above you, catching normal getup from ledge, or when you put your opponent in a position where they have to land on you or go above you for some reason. Idk I think that moves is pretty good, and I've seen Kola use it a decent amount. Just not as much as F-smash of course. However D-Smash just sucks lol
please decide first, if you want to rate the attacks isolated or as part of the characters kit. You kinda both depending on how you liked it for each character.
Incin smash attacks are good on their own, Fsmash and Usmash can combo at low percents while being strong and Dsmash is the fastest of the "K. Rool down smash" trope while being really strong as well. But with revenge, they have the same benefits as well as being safer on shield, and doing absurdly strong
ya incin is actually really good, if he wasn't so damn slow. kinda like what they said with ganon. imagine incin but he can actually play aggressive and tech chase well
How are you coming out of f-smash at early %s? I play incin a decent amount and I don't think I've done that. I'm not saying it can't happen, but what does it combo into?.. damn, I've just convinced myself to go into the training mode while sick with covid lol
I want what y'all smokin if you think the shoto's smash attacks are bad. Mixups into Fsmash, Downsmash can be comboed into/out of, it's really good it's just that they work better at lower percents, which shoto players don't need to do much cuz you land in one of their attacks you start the match at 60% anyways
I think Ridley was also a contender for top 5 Smash attacks. Ridley F Smash is one of the best smash attacks in the game because it’s decently fast, kills early, and two frames, down smash kills early and covers so many options because it jumps and has a massive hitbo, and up smash covers platforms.
Bro what?? Zelda's smash attacks are actually pretty good imo. Down smash is quick, sends at a harsh angle and is a decent ooS option. F-Smash is obviously super good, and U-Smash is essentially a better version of Samus' usmash since its more consistent and just as safe.
When they starting wondering whose smash attacks were bad, I was like "how is Wario not the first one that comes to mind?" Glad they got around to it eventually! I don't think there's another character out there where using tilts is literally a better choice almost universally. You basically only F-smash on shield break, U-Smash to fish for kills at high percent only if they're above you, and there's zero reason to use the worst D-Smash in the game.
Yoshi's dsmash is really good, super fast and huge range, really good for techchasing. It sends them at a nasty angle and even the weak hit is pretty strong
Strongly disagree with Falco. F-smash 2 frames, up-smash is a giant hitbox that is intangible: a great anti air, down-smash also 2 frames although is admittedly the worst of them... "Hand's off my....." Okay I take it back, that's S tier too
I actually, think Down Smash is the best Falco smash attack. It 2 frames, and sends at a disgusting angle that allows Falco to go for his amazing edgarding.
I would have put Aegis instead of Bowser in the top 5, simply because those moves have NO LAG! Pyra up smash is the only one that's remotely punishable, and even then you gotta have good frame data to do it. Otherwise I 100% agree with this list, which is rare because dang all of them have hot takes from time to time.
I believe my smash attacks are pretty good actually, one of the first semi-combos I’ve ever learned is nair fsmash & it’s pretty good, another early one I’ve learned is Zelda’s dair up smash it kills at like 80 I believe

I thought this list could use some technicality categorying. Best tier has at least 1 broken smash with the rest being 'reliable' smashes or all reliable. Fine tier has 1 broken, only 1 nonreliable/'bad' smash, at most 2 reliable with lesser smashes, or all ok. Forgettable has no broken, at most 2 ok with lesser smashes.
If you could have 1 insanely good Smash attack and be top 5 then Falcon would've been up there for sure. I just feel like the characters they chose for top 5 are good because all of their Smash attacks are good as opposed to having just 1 insanely broken one.
Not a bad list, though it's pretty clear that the boys haven't fought a good Jiggs before. F-Smash is very strong and can be used out of a sing or a read, while D-Smash can 2 frame and sends at a really weird angle. She probably has the worst up smash in the game, but it's still pretty good vs light characters.
Cool things about Mac's smash attacks. Uafsmash can be a combo started at times if you get the zoom in. It's also just a great anti air especially if they try an aggressive option. It can be a combo ender off of uair. Fsmash just kills and can be a combo ender off of fair and it can catch rolls on tech chases. Dafsmash break shield, does a lot of percent and can set up tech chases kinda. Up smash is amazing at hurtbox shifting. Like if pika does a rising fair, nair or bair on his shield you can up smash and duck under it to punish. Also a great anti air. Can have some niche frame traps if you get the zoom, it can be a combo ender off of utilt, uair and fair at times. It can hit people hanging on ledge and can be used for ledge trapping. It also can catch tech options on platforms. Down smash can catch some recoveries, can two frame, can be used for ledge trapping at times and can be used for tech chases. Also super armor in general has some usages against agressive options and some more stuff that I won't get into.
Isabelle has the worst smash attacks in the game. Unusable up smash, super punishable f smash with tiny hitbox, and super fast but situational down smash.
There are like 3 decent isabelle players in my region and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, up smash is not unusable. I wouldn't call it broken, but it's pretty fast and not that easy to punish unless you have a sword.

Why do u always use so few tiers I feel that there’s no harm in adding more and it helps distinguish easier I just don’t see the reason to limit to 3 tiers
Tbh lucas’ smash attacks should be in fine. F-smash has a reflector but it starts pretty slow so you have to read someone or stand far away to actually react to it. D-smash hits people even before the 2-frame and it’s safe against some chars but sometimes it only hits the second or first hit on shield and then you get punished for it. Up-smash is so slow that you can hit the i-frames and still have enough time to do whatever you want to lucas and you could probably even punish lucas across stage with incineroar.
I’m amazed that Ivysaur wasn’t in BEST Forward smash is broken, down smash is really nice and up smash disintegrates anything trying to land or if they’re on platform
I think mii swordfighter is a little underestimated, as you can cancel fair into both up smash and f smash, although f smash is a bit outclassed by f tilt and dash attack, and down smash is pretty good at catching the ledge and a good alternative if you don't have hero spin OOS. Not amazing, but IDK about worst in the game.

8:15 [Insert Rachel rant about Hero's upsmash]
Love these videos. Hope those 3 do too cause this is fun to watch
Fun fact. Kirby’s forward smash is faster than mythra’s
and stronger. and huge. and pretty safe. and does a lot of damage. and is a combo ender. and low profiles. and-
you get the idea.
Ooooh a three person tier list. I like this
Would love to see this with tilts, recoverys etc.
Min min, G&W, Olimar, Little Mac, Bowser
I think that's the order they should be in
I really liked this discussion! I want more videos like this
For a second, I was fooled by the thumbnail and thought they didn't put my mans Bowsers smash attacks into top tier.
But yeah, as soon as I saw characters with worse smash attacks in top tier I was like ain't no way it's happening 😂
Yeah his only "bad" smash attack is f smash because of the heavy end lag but at least is strong
@@wildberry752 it's not bad. You won't use it when you let yourself open. But first, the hitbox is gigantic, it kills everyone at 25% at ledge (stupendously strong), and the feets are transcendend meaning I cannot clank. I literally had DK side b me but although we hit at the same time, fsmash won. I got buried but the DK died 😂
RACCOON PROFILE PIC 🥰
@@ohjonny95 i know its not necessarily bad i just don't think its his best smash attack
I’d say my top five in order is Olimar, Little Mac, Game & Watch, Min Min, then Wolf or Sora.
I think Shulk’s smash attacks are fine on their own, but Monado Arts make them pretty good. And up smash has a huge scoop hitbox.
F smash is quick at frame 13(same as roy) and KILLS
Why do u always use so few tiers I feel that there’s no harm in adding more and it helps distinguish easier I just don’t see the reason to limit to 3 tiers
ESAM at 19:33 needs to be a meme template
Tbh lucas’ smash attacks should be in fine.
F-smash has a reflector but it starts pretty slow so you have to read someone or stand far away to actually react to it.
D-smash hits people even before the 2-frame and it’s safe against some chars but sometimes it only hits the second or first hit on shield and then you get punished for it.
Up-smash is so slow that you can hit the i-frames and still have enough time to do whatever you want to lucas and you could probably even punish lucas across stage with incineroar.
I’m amazed that Ivysaur wasn’t in BEST
Forward smash is broken, down smash is really nice and up smash disintegrates anything trying to land or if they’re on platform
“You know who’s not forgettable, the panda boys”
WHERE THE FUCK IS MY BOY Z???
I think mii swordfighter is a little underestimated, as you can cancel fair into both up smash and f smash, although f smash is a bit outclassed by f tilt and dash attack, and down smash is pretty good at catching the ledge and a good alternative if you don't have hero spin OOS. Not amazing, but IDK about worst in the game.
As a mii sword main, I think his smash attacks are epitome of
"Garbage in a vacuum, but works in his kit"
Esam: “Marth slander Marth slander Marth slander 5 tiers under lucina whoooo”
Me: 😐 I thought you were smart tho
Ridley’s is top 5, all 3 have a purpose: f smash kills and 2 frames, upsmash is an anti air and COVERS A PLATFORM, and downsmash 2 frames and cover HALF THE STAGE
I don't see how jokers are broken, they're not that safe, very committal, very punishable, so easy to low profile upsmash. I think they're fine
F smash is bad imo, not even arsene down smash 2 frames so only used during combos, and up smash is the only good one
There is a little part of me that misses ganon’s old up smash from 4. That thing was not okay.
Had a match as Mii Gunner against a Falcon where my Up-smash failed four times in a row. It the attack doesn’t work. LOL
Would this be the full version of the smash attack? Or the "I used the move while under a platform" version of the smash attack?
@@beybl7869 Full version. We were playing on final destination. The captain Falcon was at 88% and I ran forwards and up smashed and he fell out of it 4 times in a row
@@kookio4284 Jesus Christ, that must have been some falcon dash back hurtbox shifting shenanigans. I play gunner as well, and I don't have people fall out THAT consistently... You have my condolences
It's your job to talk about smash attacks so I can sit here and think about the fact that it's your job to talk about smash attacks, its amazing that this somehow generates money
I think incineroar has some of the best smash attacks, plus revenge. Also don't tell me that it doesn't count because, they talked about Wii fit having deep breathing and robin having Levin sword
Marss tryna piss off Rachel talking smack about hero like that
i was waiting the entire video for wadi's footage to be corrupted
#1 Little Mac
#2 G&W
#3 Min Min
#4 Olimar
#5 Bowser/Mario
But hey, that's just my take.
Bowser realistically has 1 usable smash attack if your playing good players. Up smash is really good since most characters like to attack from above and usmash has an insane amount of armor. Fsmash and down smash are super slow and super punishable which is really bad because bowsers disadvantage is terrible
@@yeetm8176 what are you talking about. Downsmash comes out faster than Wolfs. Has more endlag, yeah, but this is a superheavy. And it does more damage than Wolfs does. And fsmash is also really good (transcendend, damage based armor, super strong).....
If you break someones shield at 0 he is dead. No matter who he is. And even good players get shieldbroken.... top level not so much but it still happens.
@@ohjonny95 does bowser's dsmash 2 frame? That would make it 100% better than wolf's cuz that's what most the wolf's use it for
@@sullivanish as a bowser main, I can tell you it does not.
@@sullivanish afaik it doesnt, most Bowsers either downtilt or ftilt at ledge
Sonic's f-smash is busted.
But the other two suck.
They got it wrong, Ultimate is where bayo's smash attacks are transcendent but only to aerials while smash 4 clanks with everything
Marth Fsmash: Frame 10 smash attsck that kills at 30 on sweetspot.
Sped "pros": So bad because i cant spece and need to mash!!!
Sora has no sour spot foward smash & it’s impossible to punish he’s definitely got the best smash attacks out of any DLC
Incineroar's smash attacks are pretty good
Okay i would say. Downsmash is good
i haven’t watch the video but anything with these three bangs
I am forever traumatized after seeing such a cursed image 12:45
They need more tiers than just 3
I understand that Sephiroth's smash attacks are slow, but they're also ENORMOUS and I am in shock they all unanimously agreed they're just fine
It’s the startup frames on all of them, and the end lag. The only uses for his smash attacks is up smash to someone landing on platform / above you. His f tilt tipper basically does the same thing as his f smash but better.
@@CaptainNabber Down smash also breaks shields, and he gets use out of fsmash if side-b detonates on someone in a bad position - and then up smash covers even more ground
Like I said, I get that they're slow, but he does have use for them.
@@theillusionist1494 if you play the mu right Seph almost never gets shield breaks
@@Deme_Diora666 You could make the same argument for Byleth, but they’re still considered some of the best.
@@theillusionist1494 byleth down smash is still way more consistent at getting shield breaks than seph tho. I would still say hers are better. The tipper on byleths f smash is still just as good as sephs but is far less punishable on shield at the tipper range.
