I think Pit's a bit weird, like Dabuz says he doesn't really have any messed up shit he can do to you, but he's got a crazy well rounded defensive toolkit that means he can answer almost every other character's bullshit. So he would be like the worst character to use as a counterpick, but if you're a player like Zackray you just get 55-45 to 45-55 matchups all day long and just focus on learning your opponent and outplaying them.

I think she’s a really interesting case because it feels like she can fight against the best characters in the game, but she struggles with predictability and stock taking and as a result she gets placed rather low on the tier list
The issue with Ultimate tier lists in general is understanding how surprisingly balanced ultimate really is, the fact you actually NEED to know every matchup, and the fact even the mid tiers can in fact win majors.
While I do agree that a lot of the roster is balanced, I find it hard to agree when people say the whole game is balanced. When you consider the struggles of D and E tier characters vs. the massive advantage of S tier characters (and those nearby), that’s a whole third of the roster that just isn’t balanced with the rest. The game may be an improvement in balance on some games in the past, but it’s still way too far away from ideal to be called an overall balanced game. This is to be expected given the roster size but I feel they’ve had plenty of time to improve on it with patches and just haven’t.

Having one good high tier matchup is not enough to survive in a competitive scene with at least 30 different characters considered “high tier”. You’ll only win 1/30th of your games if each player plays to perfection.

As a Mewtwo main, I don't use teleport except for recovery and teleport canceling, I agree on him being a very high risk character, but I know he's got potential and I'm never giving up on my homie, Mewtwo main since day one, Mewtwo main when I die 😂
That point about Incin sideb is so real. I will never understand why a character with such rigid recovery options never gets edgeguarded. I feel like I get reversals more often than I get edgeguarded. Being able to get gimps with my upb and sideb is pretty nutty
As someone fine tuning playing with Kazuya, it takes ALOT of practice to get down the command inputs it takes to do the electric combos. Shoot, just to do electric in general. Missing an electric can cost you the match. Missing a landing on platforms after an electric can cost you the match. These are just a few trade offs that can make or break him being broken. That’s the only reason I’d say he’s fine the way he is. High risk, high reward.
tbh he's a poorly designed character. ewgf is supposed to juggle the opponent not cause hitstun, also uses the wrong sound design too. kazuya does not have a lot of moves and has a horrible disadvantage too.
Aegis main and I lowkey agree. He handles mythra well in neutral, and has really great edge guards against them bc of their linear and weak recovery. If you’re recovering low and don’t space perfectly or up-b early, Drill is taking your stock at 10. I do think pyra absolutely stomps Kirby though, I play much more spacing and Pyra heavy and she will delete the little guy at 50. Still a winning MU for aegis imo, like +1 maybe +2 but it’s not as bad for Kirby as you’d expect it to be

I’ve been maining Jr since Smash 4, happy people are starting to finally see that he isn’t as bad as people thought! Wonky? Hell yes, weird? 100%. Hits like a truck with low end lag on killing moves that bait you into a “oh I can wiff punish him” and then you die to another killing move (fsmash -> dtilt being my fav). Plus a pretty decent recovery with mix-ups.
I feel like robin and bowser jr are characters where, you play against one random local guy who a super specialist that mains this character and you're just like wtf this character is actually broken how are they not higher on the tier list.
I be handling people online with Zelda. As a matter of fact my highest gsp is Jiggly and 2nd is Zelda. To me Zelda is A tier if you know what you’re doing and if you hit those strong spots on attacks.
I said several years ago that lucina was a bottom of high, top of mid type character and got attacked for it. Meanwhile every year lucina dropped a little bit at a time and is now exactly where i said she should be.
I am no pro smash player not even close but if I may offer my 2 cents about Kirby. Kirby has a lot potential but he is very weak to being zoned and camped (hard to approach). Kirby's placement makes sense when you consider what kind of characters and strategies are at the upper levels of the list. The safer and risk free strategies are stronger and Kirby doesn't have a risk free strategy.
I fully believe lucina is very high up. But i also believe the gap between chrom and roy is smaller than the gap between marth and lucina. Lucina has almost only advantages over marth. While there is a argument that chrom has some tools better than roy and roy is just overrall better.
%90 of sephiroth players play defensively and thats not how he should be played at the top level, hes fast, has long range and shield pressure, he can be oppressive against many characters.
Sephiroth needs to space his attacks to be safe on shield so a little harder to be more offensive, But he definitely should be played more aggressively like Kens or Neds, not tweek
