Was born 12 years after keith passed but I’ve considered him one of my best friends for years. He’s seen me through my darkest days. I go to rehab next week by the grace of god. Can’t help but think of all the great music we’d have today if it wasn’t for this disease
Sadly enough songs like this are to county for country music radio these days I wish people would wake up and acknowledge that country music isn’t about hip hop and rapping there’s so much talent out there that don’t get air time too country
I do think that he must have written and recorded during his roughly 2 years of sobriety. His bad combination of depression and alcoholism seems to have influenced some of his songwriting.
DAMN! What in the world can we possibly say that hasn’t been said about Keith!? My mother always said, “ never say never”. She always gave good Ol’ Kentucky Common Sense tidbits to live by. I love her. She has been gone 32 years now. This one time I’m gonna go against what she told me. There will NEVER, EVER be another Keith Whitley, NEVER!!! Damn, it’s time for some good Kentucky Bourbon after that song! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
ARE U GUYS SURE GEORGE DIDNT HAVE A SON SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE? He’s a dead ringer, for sure & I love this s❤ong along with all of his others. What a dang loss. God Rest both of them😢
Hi, unfortunatly, this song wasn't released on any of Keith's albums, it is from a huge selection of rare demo tapes that Keith recorded on RCA Records in Nashville before he made it in Country music. RCA Records should make a tripple CD series on all these demos and put it out. Will it happen? no, because its all about the money fokes. These demos sound just as good as the studeo recordings, and Keith sounds just as good singing live as well.

I listen to Keith every single day. He's gone but his legacy lives on everyday. Can't wait to shake that man's hand.
Me too
Me neither i just want to hold his hand😢
If I could say one thing to him it would be thank you and your music is still alive and growing in popularity again ❤

He sure does sound like George in this song. In other songs he sounds like a mixture of Waylon and Merle. Goat.
A lot of George Jones influence here
