just those 2? Nah we will give him every last one of them cookie cuttin wannabes on the radio for a few of good ole boys like keith, johnny, waylon, george, and the hag too!
add keith urban, Taylor swift & many others to that list. Not saying I'd want them to pass. just sick of the so called country music nowadays. At least in 70's during the country pop phase then it still had a country beat too it.
NO ONE but NO ONE will replace this wondrous inspirational voice of our much loved Keith Whitley Thanks heaps n heaps for sharing this song on RUclips so as I can hear him sing just one more time....repeatedly
I sound just like Keith on a few slower big hit songs an his time with J.D. an the New South as a young hobbiest musician I'll say Whitley inspired me to get over my stage fright an really share his music at full.. He is an will always be the Legend has it kinda 100 yr down the rd forsure..
And sadly he always turned to his old friend, and it eventually killed him☹️ I wish Keith was still here singing more and more songs. He was the greatest singer of all 💔
If Keith Whitley wouldnt have died so young, he would have went down as the GOAT of country. The guy had 12 singles with only 2 albums, He basically had an album of singles
Man I'd rather listen to Whitley, Jones, and Haggard than any of the shite these so-called country stations pull out of their asses and force us to listen to today. They don't even play Alan Jackson or George Strait anymore.
if more true country fans would do what I did decades ago and turn those stations off Trashville would be forced back into real country music. only station I listen to anymore is a local l ld country station which plays hank hank jr, waylon, willie, keith (not that pop wannabe country keith), JC, and all the other traditional country music greats.
When Keith was alive his music brought tears to my eyes because it was beautiful, now it brings tears because of he's no longer with us. One of the saddest days I can recall, hearing of his tragic passing.
If Keith Whitley was still alive, and if he never passed away from alcohol poison, he will be up there with some the great legends, but in my book, he is a legend rest in peace, Keith Whitley 1954-1989
OMGOSH I LOVE THIS SONG , FIRST TIME HEARIN IT N PLAY the hell out of it . Always loved Keith's music cant believe i never heard this one bfor . R.I.P KEITH FOR MUSIC LIVES ON FOREVER
Je viens de découvrir ce magnifique chanteur désolé qu’il ne soit plus de ce monde , merci à celui qui m’ permis de le découvrir, en présentant ces chansons .
Ok so I'm not sure if your talking to me or what? But number one I thought it was a great comment for the man's legacy. Kinda like aj did when he sang about hank. You can smell whiskey in the air. But as far as living ing my moms basement. I live in my own paid off home. Have been married 16 yrs. Have 3 teenage boys. Work my ass off daily. And when I do get the time to get on youtube I like my real country music. In this case I commented. So ride along little doggie.
So sad. This song reminds me so much of my brother and his relationship with alcohol. His 'old friend' finally killed his liver 10 months ago. RIP Ronny.
My old friend damn near killed me,no matter if its a bottle of beer or a bottle of pills!!!started when I was 12 an went till I can't even remember, but God saved me in 2009,He's what it took, but Keith Whitley is and was my favorite singer!!!!Clean at last,Clean at last!!!
Gah lay I wish I could've met keith! I relate to every damn word he says in every song he sang, I feel the same way u did, I cant put the bottle down either buddy. I'll see you soon I'm sure, r.i.p. u get me thru every day.
I had some good times with this song with . jimbeam and Jack and acasionally my beer but one day I realize the people I hurt including my self and I new it was time to give it up .and did it on my .I didn't need rehab if you really want to stop you along with.alot of other things if you feel you can't there's help out there you just gotta ask for it sometime s but if you no.a loved one who has addiction don't give up on them.just be there for support but only if they.are willing to do that.
The song sounds similar to one of the possums I know it's Keith Whitley but as I listen I can hear a Little George Jones sad there both gone rest in peace both of you
Years ago David Keith (Officer and a Gentlemen) was working on a KW movie. However due to legal issues the movie was scrapped. As much I hate to say this but I think Justin Timberlake would make a good KW, he kinda has the looks and he respects country music.
Most people have forgotten or have never heard real country well here it is!
Hell I'd give Blake Shelton and a whole bus load of so called modern country singers for Keith.
Dittos!
I would give everyone of these fucking so called wanna be's for 5 minutes of Keith Whitley.
Hell yeah
Hell yes
Last country outta Oklahoma was Roger Miller
What makes the song so sad is his old friend truly did turn on him, Keith you’re what keeps me from reaching for the bottle
lord we will give you Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia line if we could have Keith back!!!!
just those 2? Nah we will give him every last one of them cookie cuttin wannabes on the radio for a few of good ole boys like keith, johnny, waylon, george, and the hag too!
add keith urban, Taylor swift & many others to that list. Not saying I'd want them to pass. just sick of the so called country music nowadays. At least in 70's during the country pop phase then it still had a country beat too it.
Jamie Parker 👍👍👍
Jeff C. Cookie cutters , that's fitting 😂
Weetilh
The fact he is not in the country music hall of fame makes me want to reach the bottom of the bottle
Jordan Canales something I’ve never thought about. Why the hell is he not in the hall of fame
He is being added to the hall of fame and there is a concert for his anniversary this year on may 9th
They finally put Keith in the Hall of Fame this year along with Jerry Lee Lewis
NO ONE but NO ONE will replace this wondrous inspirational voice of our much loved Keith Whitley
Thanks heaps n heaps for sharing this song on RUclips so as I can hear him sing just one more time....repeatedly

Power
Tragically this song was his life and we lost him because it did turn on him. Such a great musician, no words!
And sadly he always turned to his old friend, and it eventually killed him☹️
I wish Keith was still here singing more and more songs. He was the greatest singer of all 💔
PURE COUNTRY, IT DON"T GET ANY BETTER, R.I.P. KEITH!!!!!
If Keith Whitley wouldnt have died so young, he would have went down as the GOAT of country. The guy had 12 singles with only 2 albums, He basically had an album of singles
Some of the greatest music ever sang, written or heard

I never have, and never WILL get enough.
Rest peaceful, Keith
Dessert all day long!!!
I love the way he sings He is a legend even though he never knew it he will never be forgotten ♥ ❤
Keith, singing about his own demons. Keith also sings about doing everything Hank did but die. Keith finally did everything. RIP Mr. Country music
31 yrs today 😢
One of my favorite songs from a true classic country artist,my favorite singer Keith Whitley.
Keith I wish u was still with us :(
Man I'd rather listen to Whitley, Jones, and Haggard than any of the shite these so-called country stations pull out of their asses and force us to listen to today. They don't even play Alan Jackson or George Strait anymore.
Micah Nightwolf experience ex

When Keith was alive his music brought tears to my eyes because it was beautiful, now it brings tears because of he's no longer with us. One of the saddest days I can recall, hearing of his tragic passing.
Keith miss you dear friend . Rest for you are still here in eastern ky
CRYPTOZOOLOGY GUY Kentucky still a Legend here at home!! He's played around the clock here in Knott ;)
Keith would have been one of the greatest singers ever today if he was hear.
If Keith Whitley was still alive, and if he never passed away from alcohol poison, he will be up there with some the great legends, but in my book, he is a legend rest in peace, Keith Whitley 1954-1989
The mind of a genius! If only he knew that his music is still lives on to date 😥. As merle haggard says,' are the good ole days really gone'?

You can’t do any better than Keith Whitley!! Gone way, way too soon!!
It may just be me but it kind of resembles little bit like Tennessee whiskey. Thumbs up if you agree!!
He is in the Hall of Fame now. Awesome voice and talent. Handsome and nice too. Ha
His last recording that was released right after he died was " I'm over you"!!!
We all know it was bc of Lorrie's cheating ass.
My #1 favorite song of Keith's
Je viens de découvrir ce magnifique chanteur désolé qu’il ne soit plus de ce monde , merci à celui qui m’ permis de le découvrir, en présentant ces chansons .
I SURE MISS KEITH SINGING
County music best singer ever!
This version is much clearer than the one I have. The version I have came from Randy Hayes, who was in Keith's band.

Ok so I'm not sure if your talking to me or what? But number one I thought it was a great comment for the man's legacy. Kinda like aj did when he sang about hank. You can smell whiskey in the air. Ah what a sound!!
God rest Keith Whitley. I’d love to see a duet with Gary Stewart, talk about talent. That’d be a pay per view honky tonk session.
Yessss. Him and Gary I think were possibly related both being from eastern Ky.
I can relate to this song my partner loves the bottle more than me 🍷🍷
He is 1 of the best up there with hank sr.george Jones and straight
Gah lay I wish I could've met keith! I relate to every damn word he says in every song he sang, I feel the same way u did, I cant put the bottle down either buddy. I'll see you soon I'm sure, r.i.p. u get me thru every day.

See you soon 💖
I let the bottle get me down I guess I just got lucky That's all lucky. It's caused me alot of pain and meserey.
After that,s the way they feel and they think that the bottle is their best friend but actually it is their worst enemy
Darryl and Ken remind me of Keith but the only person who gives me that feeling in my stomach and can make me cry is Chris Young.
I think about my old friend every but I didn't have a woman to turn to
know how they made walk the line based on Johnny cash? they should make a move about kW with Hugh Jackman. just a thought...
hugh jackman is a bit too old now though.
+Daniel Smith true but they do look alike.
Years ago David Keith (Officer and a Gentlemen) was working on a KW movie. However due to legal issues the movie was scrapped. As much I hate to say this but I think Justin Timberlake would make a good KW, he kinda has the looks and he respects country music.
they will for sure I've been t here
I could have written this song, sounds like my life.
Have another!🥃😄
😢
Sounds kind of like Tennessee Whiskey by George Jones.
SuperTiger91 kinda the same point Lola
Too bad he couldn't stay away from the bottle.
+Thelma Moore it was cocaine, just like George jones
+robert cousins
