I hope this was a back-door pilot for McMahan's next Trek project, an animated multiversal show where he can bring back as many legacy characters as possible without canonical repercussions.
9:04 Well, the original Defiant was a prototype vessel, so I can imagine that the Starfleet Engineering Corps would make improvements on the Defiant-class over the years. Perhaps there are micro shuttle pods for the crew?
They went through the effort of bringing the actress that played Sito Jaxa last season. An actress that no longer acted and had to be deregistered in SAG to do the voice work. Obviously these characters are voiced by their original actors and actress. They’re not going to recast to voice act.
There’s no time travel. Multiple dimensions have time running at different speeds. So traveling through dimensions may also mean traveling to another demotion where it was at a different era. Tpol did not travel through time. She is not 400 years old. The same occurs with Dax. It was before he died and became Jadzia.
I bet in most universes there is a secret Starfleet protocoll to prevent the creation of "Lieutenand Kim", because it always correlates with Kim becoming evil...
Lower Decks as a whole focuses on the four main characters (plus T'Lyn), so the finale should focus fully on them. Not on legacy characters from the prime universe, not on William Boimler's crew. Don't get me wrong, I loved this episode and the amazing legacy appearances, it was appropriate for the penultimate episode. But not for the finale. So, I personally don't want the last episode to go back to William Boimler's crew (at least not more than for a short contact) or bring in other legacy characters. And, for a proper finale, we should get more focus on Tendi and Rutherford. I also don't think they need to finish this stroy fast and then introduce another story for the finale. I think this story works for the finale really well. For the past years, we've been following the main lower decker's, seeing how they learned, grew, and prepared to become leaders in their own right. Giving them a major challenge in the end is great to showcase what they've learned, and them being able to successfully deal with it will show that they are ready for the next step in their careers. It would be logical if, after a season of emulating another version of himself, Boimler will be able to contribute to saving the universe by doing something uniquely his own, and finally finding his OWN way to be a leader. With Mariner, we've already seen that she's capable of being a leader when she took another rebel under her wing this season, so, faced with such an epic challange, she might finally embrace that. We've also already gotten a hint that Rutherford will play a major part in the finale (because something is clearly up with his laser-shooting implant). It may be pivotal to saving the day. And Tendi might finally be able to find her balance between Orion-style competition and Starfleet-style cooperation--something that she's been struggling with. To deal with a universe-threating challenge, she will probably have to lean into both her Orion ass-kicking and her Starfleet teamwork simultaneously. In short, them dealing with this major threat for the whole episode is the ideal way to show how far they've come and that they are ready for more.
The whole Lieutenant Kim thing doesn't work for me tbh. We've already seen Captain Kim in Voyager, so it ain't that much of a big deal apart from the meme.
They need to go back to the main leads, Please I don't need to see all the threads of episode 10 sown up, Cockins is so wrong on this point, leave it for the fans to imagine and project that part themselfs, it won't serve that main story at all, this is an alternate universe in a satirical off shoot. Fantastic to see these guys back, and I am sure they were persuaded by a redemptive, refreshing and funny script for their characters. BUT its not about them, its a side quest. This is Lower Decks last series last episode. Do them.
I agree. Plus Lower Decks has never made the legacy cast supersede the main characters. If it's the last episode, based on trends from the other season finales, it's safe to expect that the focus is going to be on the LD cast

episode 9 is pretty much always 10/10 in a Lower Decks season, often e10 is too
Remember trip's deaths only occurred in a hollow novel so how accurate is it ,Bashir's hollowgram was a new character so it should sound different
5!!! Not 1234 but 5 guest stars 😲🥳

The most evil Kim. A lieutenant!

Ensign kim saves the universe and then just gets a "well done handshake" and nothing more.

I feel like this episode was someone's fanfic come true.
I don't think we're going back to the Anaximander at all for the final episode.
I assumed that William Boimler was on the multiverse mission for like 10 years. I thought he looked older.
Garak and Bashir were absolutely a couple.
I never thought that until the fans started telling me online they thought it xD
Men can just be friends you know haha
@power543 I mean the subtext was there, anyone who's studied acting picked up on how andrew robinson played their first scene together
@@SmilesObrien Basically the only reason it wasn't text was Rick Berman.
the penultimate review for a MONTH!

This is definitely the most gay Lower Decks season. Why? Odd.
