I know this is an old ass comment, but let me tell you, him playing over the songs that way enhances the entire experience. Plus his drumming tends to sound slightly drowned out because of how loud the bass is live. If he stayed super on beat it probably wouldn't even cut through, it'd be kind of pointless.
Death Grips at Primavera was the first time since I was like 13 I considered leaving the front, and I'm used to heavy stuff. But I seriously would not have been surprised if I'd crack some ribs at a show like that.

I got to see this after seeing them twice in July in New York. Seeing them play this festival was amazing, they really brought the energy! There were so many people who had heard of them or maybe knew who they were only, but to seem them live, a lot of people were in it. Look at everyone jump during Inanimate Sensation!
The media section seems pretty dumb. Not sure if that's common at festivals, but I haven't seen such a huge and prime space taken up for people taking pictures.
Yeah, It's very common actually. They call it "the pit" (no relation to moshing) where all the press and band photographers stand and often get in everyone's fucking way while taking upclose pictures. They've done this since at least the late 80's and It's always awful if there's a large security presence or if there's crowd surfers coming over the barrier.
You guys didn't even go that hard. Denver, CO on their tour after jenny death came out was a packed show and we moshed for a solid hour and a half. Fucking amazing group.
