    Thank you, that was exactly the mod guide I was looking for. I removed the de-prime lock from my Nexus a year ago, and wasn't sure I'd recognize the piece. That's coming out as soon as have time. I don't know why they think people want to dry fire their blasters to de-prime.

    • @daddydaughternerf5300
      @daddydaughternerf5300  3 года назад +1

      That lock acts as a safety feature. If you pull the trigger while half-primed the spring will send the whole bolt and pump grip forward at full tension after you remove the lock. Make sure you hold the pump grip and let it forward slowly.

    • @buckethead420
      @buckethead420 2 года назад +1

      if they had the entire system sealed we could just stick a finger inside the barrel to de-prime the blaster without smashing the pistonhead onto the rubber padding inside the plungertube

  • @buckethead420

    the lock you removed was one of the first things i dig to my nexus pro. its a much better blaster without this lock.
    also the epoxy part between dart guide and barrel is very important. i used some tape around the barrel, pressed it in the dart gate, removed it again, put a small drop of superglue (gel) on the tape and put it back together while twisting the barrel for an even seal.
    i also taped the front of the barrel where it meets the plastic ring in the front, and i wrapped the outside of the ring where it locks into the shell with tape, too. now everything is a snug fit without ANY play.
    precision is much better now... awesome blasters when using any kind of SCAR or BCAR. personally i use a 3 string 80mm worker scar with the original flash hider (removed the friction fit part and sanded down to friction fit the worker SCAR). now it looks stock but has a ridiculous precision for a dart blaster.
    another thing i did was extending the push button for the black locking bar directly under the picatinny rail for easy access and dremeled down the 2 huge magazine release levers (the one for full lenght mags is only sticking out of the blaster about 3mm to pull is with a fingernail) on the short dart adapter i dremeled dowm the lever for a total lenght of 1 inch. i also removed the upper notch and spring for the dart zone magazines. now its an easy push with only one spring for a way easier removal of the magazine and cut another hole on the back of the dart zone mag (like on a talon magazine)

      Hello I’m new to nerf and this gonna be my first real mod. I noticed stores that sell the brass barrels already prepped have 10” brass because of barrel drag. I also read that if you use an upgraded spring a 12” might be better do you have any idea what would be better

    • @daddydaughternerf5300
      @daddydaughternerf5300  Год назад

      The stock barrel isn't that bad. I've brassed one in 12" and the difference is negligible. So many variables involved. Best advice i can give is do some experimenting and find what works the best for you.

    • @daddydaughternerf5300

      I wouldn't go longer than the spring retainer. So maybe just under an inch. You'll have to experiment with lengths to get the performance you'd like.

  • @rmhfpv9225

    I did the Prime delete tip but I'm not sure what it did? I have the gun back together - it works. I pull back the pump grip (prime it) and then push it forward (now primed right). It's now locked until I fire. I'm not really understanding what that mod does? it seems to act the same as before.

    • @daddydaughternerf5300
      @daddydaughternerf5300  Год назад

      This mod allows you to half-prime the blaster, then hold the pump grip while pulling the trigger and let it forward slowly. Useful in taking out an empty mag and then storing the blaster de-primed. If you've full-primed the blaster, you'll need to depress the lock on the top of the blaster to return it to half-primed, then pull the trigger and let the slide go forward slowly. It saves wear and and tear on the blaster by not dry firing it.

    I've recently moded my Stryker and Nexus but now I'm getting a problem where when I fire them some of the darts get straight cuts on them causing those ones to stop in the barrel. The other darts fire perfectly fine but I do notice a score imprint on where they would have cut open. Did you have this complication too and if so do you know what could be the issue?

    • @daddydaughternerf5300
      @daddydaughternerf5300  2 года назад

      By straight cuts do you mean the dart is cut down the side and its ripped all the way through to the inside? If so, you're probably popping the darts from the inside because of too much pressure. If that's not the case, then there must be something somewhere that is scraping the dart. Let me know if this helps or if I totally missed the mark.

      @@daddydaughternerf5300 Now that you mentioned it I did add a spring upgrade and a spacer so rupturing might actually be the problem. However I have an MK1 that I haven't touched at all and some of the bullets seem to be doing the same thing. I may have forgotten that I've interchanged the bullets but I'll still downgrade the Nexus and a stryker to see if that'll fixes the problem. I haven't seen any videos of anyone mentioning rupturing with their upgrades so I never considered it, Thanks for the suggestion.

    • @daddydaughternerf5300
      @daddydaughternerf5300  2 года назад

      I've definitely had this happen on higher powered blasters. The cheaper or older the dart, the worse it is. Its also worse for full-length darts than half-length, but still happens occasionally with half-length.
