there are collectors out there saving crt's tv's and computer monitors because nobody makes the tubes anymore. i dont collect them, but i am for saving them, i only have what i need, monitors for my old computers and a tv for my atari & nes.
Remember the CED disk which predated the laser disk? It gave way to the laser disk which predated the DVD which turned into Blu-Ray. Then there was the VHS competitor called Betamax.
they claim cassette and vinyl are making a comeback, and as for the old computers i have some 8 bit machines from early to mid 80s that take either the 5.25" floppy, cassette or cartridge. but i miss the sounds of the 3.5" disk. & i still have a vcr and dvd player. along with my nes and atari.
Im a Gen Z but I know how to use old computers such as Windows XP, I also know how to dial in a rotatty telephone, I know how a beeper works & I know how a morsecode work dont tell me all Gen Z knows is Tiktok.

my mother still had her b/w tv from when she was 18 up till a fire in 99. she wasnt using it then but it was still around.
