Royce's account of Gerard Gordeau and Ken Shamrock seems consistent with what I've heard about them. Gordeau is a really calm, cold, calculating, dangerous guy, and a very brutal fighter with a history of bending the rules and using dirty tricks in the ring. Shamrock is a very cocky and proud fighter, tends to take losses personally, and takes offense when he loses.
Why don't you watch UFC 1. It was rigged from the start Royce Gracie fought a 1 armed boxer who wore a glove on 1 hand. While shamrock fought an undefeated kickboxer. Gerard broke his hand and was bleeding from his foot. They also didn't let shamrock use Gus wrestling shoes while Graice wore a Gi which he choked out shamrock with not his arms or hands a piece of cloth. Royce Gracie also took steroids so who's to say he didn't take them all the time. They never used to test before.
Went to a Pride fight years ago at Saboba Indian Casino. It was outside in the pouring rain. The group of guys I was with had about the crappiest seats you could have. So me and one of them decided to sneak up to ring side between fights. We saw a few empty seats up close so we proceeded to nonchalantly snag a couple. The next fight begins and we sit back enjoying the view for a few moments before the rightful owner shows up. Its Ken Shamrock and two chicks escorting him. He looks down at us but doesn't say a word. His chicks did. They f'n chewed us out so hard we leaped up and ran. The look in their eyes was a pure rip off our heads and shit down our throats. Ken just smiled as we Scooby Doo'd our asses back to the nose bleed section.
Sakuraba is the answer that no martial art is realistic 100% and has no weak points, the bjj is a part of the aspects that the ultimate fighter should have, but you can bit underestimate wrestling and striking, these days now one knew how to defend bjj, after some ufc, every fighter do everything, the one good thing ufc 1 made Iis that karate Kung fu and other stuff got obsolete, now one believe them....

@@LORDVADER357 You're missing the point. The referee doesn't score the fight. And there were no judges at UFC 5. If a fight reaches the time limit, and there are no judges present, it's declared an automatic draw. The UFC didn't introduce judges until UFC 8.
This guy fought people hand picked by his family with rules that were heavily in his favor. They even modified them on the fly to keep him winning. Royce "not a problem" Gracie.
My favorite Brazilian of all time... love this man!
Would like to have a interview with the Gracies and Superfoot Wallace about ufc 1. That would be really instructive...
A Gracie saying "he tried to cheat" is the most hypocritical thing ever!
Would be interesting to hear about fights in Japan:)
All the Gracies got Beat when they weren't in charge of the Rules

Excuse me ? what sort of choke did you do ?
Great interview

Huh? It's not the referee's job to score the fight.

All the Rigged fights that Royce had
I just threw away all the First UFC'S I owned
gerard was a bad guy, he poked out a guys eye in japan, that shouldn't happen unless it's a real fight for your life, not in entertainment/sport.
He said John McCarthy was the ref. Why is he lying?
I'm sure he was just mistaken. How many professional fights have you done? Can you remember every single referee?
Because John was the ref since UFC 2 for so long that he can't remember the other refs.
If you have to ask that question, you havent been watching long. Lol
I'm sure hes referring to UFC 5 shamrock Gracie II in 95 wich was a draw and went past the 30 min mark.
