Try to not open the throttle fully when you start , first second open half throttle and after first 40km open it fully , i experienced year's with scooters and if i want to play with others this is my way to be little taster when the green light opens!!😊
For sure it is the quickest out of the ones you already tested. I have some doubts in the app precision because at the beginning of the pull when you were still stationary the speed was wrongly read (2km/h, 9km/h, 3km/h). Having that error at higher speeds might affect the outcome. My point: for a better feeling you should give it to each one of us to test it and to confirm "yes, it is the fastest" (until now). Sa ai spor!
Hello Alex i like your reviews, keep doing them. Just a correction on the specs when you did the comparison between the Kymco and Sym.They definitely don't have the same power. The Kymco has 7hp more, 5nm more and weights 5kg less than the SYM. Maybe doesen't sound much but when you do power to weight ratio it's quite substantial for a scooter hence the difference in performance. That reflects the price as well. I bought Sym 508TL last September brand new for 8300 euros on season ending discount while AK at the same times costs 12900 euros... I've tried them both and it's a better bike the Kymco but not really worth the 4600 euros difference. Thank you
Replace the NGK CR7E's with a pair of Indium plugs (CR7EIX). The plasma ball is far hotter and more tightly controlled = increased efficiency. Mine went from 190km/h (indicated) to 195, along with far better cold starting and idling, and a much smoother throttle response in all rev ranges. These plugs DO pay for themselves if you are a long distance commuter.
You are driving in rainmode my friend, when the outside lighting is blue, then it’s in sportmode. I have a 2020 model kymco ak 550 and the orange coloured in the dash light is the rainmode. Do they changed that? 💪🏻 love from Holland.
If you look through the comments a lot of people told me this. on this model orange is sport mode, the dealer told me, it says in the manual and also you could feel it in the "blue" mode it was a lot slower and the throttle was very slow to react. They probably changed it at some point.
You're like the 10th person to comment that, I read the manual the modes are right, plus you could feel while riding that blue is slower. And if orange was rain mode why in the world would they have orange with traction control off? Who would want rain mode with traction control off?
For 50+ HP I would expect low 6 seconds. Unfortunately one of the fastest scooters performance wise cannot be compared to a motorcycle with similar power. For me it would be best to have a 300-350ccm single cylinder scooter for town and up to 120kmh touring and a motorcycle for occasional more spirited driving
U are an experience rider…..all the power and the 500cc is too wide and heavy … for city riding and communing……even in Taiwan , capital of scooters, we don’t use this 500cc… for commuting…it works better for weekend run…
I have to redo the test of the 350E now that I have this app going again. This Sunday the full review of the AK will come out (for mombers hopefully Saturday morning, I'll try my best to finish the edit) where I go into more detail comparing it to the 350E, needless to say I'm quite happy with Fred even after spending a week on the AK 😁
@@RideWithAlex It would be good a gps test, here in Brazil for exemple the Sym's HD300, Cruisym and Citycons doesn't show real numbers in their painels, like 140 in the painels while 120 in gps, and that's quite a big difference from what we actually expect... 20km/h (that's why I never got a ticket for speed limit rofl)
@@UnlikeMax all modern scooters and motorcycles do that, it's an Euro 5 requirement to show 10% more then the real speed, that's why I always test acceleration with GPS.
bro you drive in rain mode thats -10 hp blue lights is the real deal you have to redo. the red light on the screen is rain mode no sport. you are running it on 45hp instead of 53hp
Blue light is slow, already tried it. I don't know why everyone says yellow is rain mode... Even the use manual says blue is rain mode yellow is sport mode. 😕

Good observation.
Great for over taking!
Why I bought the,AK550, speed and performance ❤😂
I felt some vibrations into the transmision of the ak 550 too , also felt it not that fast till 70-80! After Multistrada nothing impresses me much...

Great bikes the Kymcos. I love my downtown 300i but kymco has no presence in the UK now. Next scooter will be Honda or Yamaha
what type of mount quadlock do you use. thanks, and hows the suspension
The suspension was good, and for this scooter I used the quad lock brake/clutch reservoir mount.
Nice test .But you got the riding mode mixed up. Blue is Sports mode. Orange is Rain mode w only 60% power.

@RideWithAlex is it possible that the color code in europe is different? coz I own a 2022 AK550 here in the Philippines. Blue here is Sports mode
What u use for microphone brother? I hear no wind gusts 😮
Rode smart lav+ inside the helmet
Hey Alex, what year is the ak550?
2024 model.
surely gonna be my next upgred after using 400i since 2014.whats your opinion for its agility.due to wheelbase different from kymco 400i
It felt very aggile and well balanced at low speeds.

Thank you! 😁
She's quite fast, lolis much different from what you have in E350? You should do a comparison like technologies, equipment's and bruter force
