    It seems that a lot of electric car manufacturers are already cutting back on production because they can't sell them.

    Electric Scooters can be a way to ease traffic congestion in many communities. Research should be done with alternative fuels as well.

    I also got a Maxi Scooter (Cruisym300) withe the same idea to ride it Monday to Friday as a work commuter and in the weekend to go on trips. And it was fine for about a year, I was going very often to the mountains. The reason why I also bought a motorcycle (Himalayan 450) was because you can't go everywhere with the scoot. Even in light gravel it hits the fender and the suspension does not feel all that good. Maybe with the ADX400 or Honda ADV/ADX it is different and you could realistically have only one bike(at least the Honda is too tall for me) but there are limitation with what you can do with only one machine.

      The upcoming ADX TG is a good compromise for daily usability and off-road ability but you do lose a lot of underset storage for that suspension that gives it the off-road ability. Every time you try to make a vehicle good at everything there will be compromises.

    I can't wait for the 368E review from you since no one do it better than you, I was always considering getting the sym adx 300 but now is released and watching ur videos about Fred it made me wait for the Zontes 368E, seems very promising and perfect scooter for me so thank you for ur videos.

      From what I saw at EICMA I think I prefer my 350. Will have to see if the engine is much different but in terms of design I prefer the 350

      @@RideWithAlex Alex, nice one with the videos of you . Good job there. The 368E got much more enhancement than the 350E though. The onboard cameras are workable and practically won't need any extra accessories to go with. The work pretty well with the app. The design might be personal preference but If you ask me, I prefer the design of the 368E.

    Range and cost comparative to ICE Maxis will be the limiting factor for a long time I think. Won't be trading my Xmax 300 any time soon! I like the idea of using my heated grips without thinking if I will make my next fuel stop! 🙂

    Great debate……electric maxi scooter, not for me. Small electric city scooter maybe, if they are similar in price to current offerings. But I don’t think they ever will be. Take care.

    Kymco E Scooter Like EV is something I would consider for commute in Belgium. If it is priced under 5K Euro and has real 100 km range. Electrical will never have range to do long trips on maxi scooters. And it will be just overpriced for nothing like Livewire. I could buy electrical Dacia for less.

  • @thecrow3461
    @thecrow3461 2 месяца назад

    Range is not a huge issue as long as you can fast charge it with CCS. Unfortunately most electric motorcycles only get level 1 or 2 slow charging. Issue with type 2 is that you can only find public charging poles in the city and not along the highways. As long as electric motorcycles and electric scooters cant use CCS fast charging, i'm not buying them. Manufacturers seem to think people want to spend huge amounts of money on electric scooters and motorcycles that can only be used in and around the city. However, i'm definitely not against electric vehicles and motorcycles and when a viable alternative comes out i'm definitely interested. It shouldn't be more than 50% more expensive, have a decent range of 150km real world in the worst of conditions and they should have fast charging with CCS DC charging with at least 50KW.

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  2 месяца назад

      With at least 50kw fast charging I think you could get a battery the size that's in a bike up from 20% to 80% in less then 10 minutes. Then yea, I suport that. stop for 10 minutes every 1 hour is decent. But until then I think if you want electric on 2 wheels, just get a cheap electric scooter for the city and that's it.

    In my opinion ist a Maxi Scooter with a range under 200 km and Charge time over 0:45h not good!
    I tough a long time to pay for a BMW CE4, but the cost a to high for a range from short over 100 km!!!
    And after 100 km you need to Stop for charging Minimum for 0:45h for the next 80-90 km. That doesn't Work!

      I'll share the link If I find it again, basically guy was saying after a year of usage the front brake was getting flimsy, and his Cubby-hole no longer locks in place and just kinda randomly opens while driving, and he blames it on that the front part of the bike vibrates too much while riding.

      Hi
      I’m in the UK and I ride a Suzuki SV650 as my work commuter 2-3 days a week and only a distance of 30 miles in total. Been thinking of getting a Maxi Scooter (2025 Honda ADV350)
      Electric Maxi Scooter would not work as my wife likes going out at weekends and all the hassle electric comes with as well as the cost. It’s a no from me.
      Thanks for all your work at creating informative content.

    Minutes to empty the battey , hours to charge (if you find a plug) !!!Hybrid would be nice but i don't see the point of only electric as you will wait too much to charge and have a very short range! My ebike with a large battery cand go from 80 km to 140 km if i ride slower...If you ride crazy battery will get depleted realy fast... In my opinion electric scooters are only city toys! In low temps the battery will discharge very fast just by being parked outside! Piaggio hybrid systems are a great ideea, they take a normal scooter and slap an electric motor over the scooter transmission so you can drive even without a battery... But still, this did not work very well for them... I would better tour on a 50 cc scooter...

    In cities electric will do. But i think it is already obsolete as i see how the Japanese are advanced in hydrogen engines. Certainly in cars.

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  2 месяца назад

      I also think for long distance electric is still not the way, just for the simple fact it's not so widely available and in motorcycles at least you spend more time charging then actually riding.

    • @thecrow3461
      @thecrow3461 2 месяца назад

      @@RideWithAlex Electric cars are already great for the vast majority of people, they can store huge batteries and most modern EV's have a range of more than 400km and can charge in around 30 minutes. Its hardly an inconvenience anymore. Motorcycles in my opinion are not ready yet, batteries are too heavy and large to fit a decent size into a motorcycle and adding a DC fast charge option requires active cooling for the battery, adding even more weight and bulk. There are motorcycles that can do all these things like Energica (which is on the verge of bankruptcy unfortunately) but they are extremely expensive. Electric motorcycles are just starting and are were electric cars were 10 to 15 years ago. I'm sure those technical issues will be solved in the future but for now, i don't think they are ready yet.

    Besides my big BMW boxer, I daily a Niu electric scooter, so far 18000km covered. Mine is the 50cc equivalent because of legislation here in Belgium (no mandatory equipment besides a helmet unlike motorcycles). I did consider the bmw C Evolution for some time, but it’s waaay too heavy and mediocre specs were off-putting. The ce 04 is too expensive, unpractical and the range again… this type of range is simply unacceptable in that price bracket, and it’s going to be similar with these news models. It’s very unlikely that they’re going to be below 10k. Many cities are plagued with ULEZ zones, and electric Is sometimes the only option (for example in Paris, only electric 2 wheeled vehicles can enjoy free parking…) but at what cost? Sub 10k, ok, otherwise, I’ll stick to my slow, light and cheap Niu.

  • @carsyoungtimerfreak1149

    Thank you. Not sure if this will be the future. Fact is that battery driven electric propulsion makes more sense for 2 wheels than it does for 4 wheels or more. Range is less of an issue, many ICE bikes have no great range either. You do not need a heater, heated grips and a heated seat are sufficient. Yet problems like battery life and lack of character will be a problem as it is with 4 wheeled EVs... Harley is going downhill fast. They have a woke CEO, not a brilliant idea. I'll stick to my ICE bikes!
