Is Stretching Worth It? - VALORANT

- CS:GO players might be used to stretching their view. To be honest, I used to do the same when i played siege competitively, so I was wondering, should I be stretching my view on Valorant too? Turns out it isnt that easy.

if you're on an ultrawide (as i am), and you also happen to have a second monitor (doesn't matter what), when you're in valorant, choosing the second monitor's resolution but not applying it will make it stretch the entire game across the ultrawide but keep the UI centred & the same
can you elaborate ? how do i stretch it
@@aliabi.5847 my UW monitor is 3440x1440, and my regular 2nd monitor is 1920x1080
for me, i have valorant launch on my ultrawide, go into video, click resolution, and while on my UW, change the resolution from 3440x1440 to 1920x1080 (or from monitor 1's res to 2's res) and make sure you don't hit apply - just escape, and you should get the menu images & gun previews being shifted to the left but the UI now spans the entire monitor, and once you're in game, the actual game itself is stretched to 21:9. here's a clip of what it looks like on my setup ruclips.net/video/orUMwoM9wYY/видео.html
@@microwavedav thank you
i play with this, 21:9
@Crocs it’s bannable
I would agree that, yes, stretching is worth it before a workout as it increases efficiency during the workout, leads to you being healthir in general, and many more.
lol i thought the same
after working out too!
Actually it does the opposite. Streching before the workout is bad and somewhat useless. We see that every football or basketball coach is telling their players to strech before training but its actually not good. Streching is good in general after workout, before sleep etc.. BUT NOT BEFORE WORKOUT!

yea stretching your hands and arms before playing is worth it hahaha - LOVE THE CONTENT THANKS FOR UPLOADING! :)
i like your content, keep it up man

You are the best valorant youtuber for me
love how you put killjoy just like widejoy
I love the fact that you use killjoy as to show what wide do.
I use it to boost my confidence tbh . Just as skins do . Having something different can motivate you to play the game better
yeah I like stretching after playing a few hours of valorant
Great video! I was always wondering why stretching the game doesn't do anything now I know why
I wish it actually stretched the game tho 🤔
you can use a different setting to stretch your intire game like in cs.
you need a resolution with the pixel hight decreased. so instead of 1920:1080 and decreasing 1920 to 1440 you can change 1080 to 700 (my res)
then you need to change scaling. most games you need full screen to stretch out ur game with the blackbars. but in val no scaling with acually stretch your game.
Do they allow that in competitive though? (ranked or pro scene)
@@cellglhf yes. its just playing with blackbars. no improved fov or anything
@@cellglhf but not in tournaments
@@breatheair4682but why in vct I see some players screen appear more stretched than others
Heyo ! I love your content
Oh wow, I never knew it didn’t had any difference, I just automatically did since I came from csgo because feeling and familiarity really helps with aim, otherwise I just feel weird and can’t point exactly what
Make it windowed and add the same resolution onto nvidia control panel as custom, then you get real stretch res

This vid is great!
Oh my god why is no one talking about the thumbnail, it’s godly
I thought you would talk about stretching through CRU (Custom Resolution Utility).
I thought he was talking about regular stretching
Wait could you actually get stretched in game models with that
@@gravityshark580 yea

I have 1280:1024 by default, but valorant enables blackbars for up and down and they are big, while in other apps/games its inexistent.
Jett, remember to stretch. I don't want you to sprain an ankle at 90 miles an hour.
Poggers Mr. Arch
youre the 3kliksphillip of valorant! love the videos keep it up
Thank you! Will do!
Bro when you said the next video would be about stretching i thought you meant stretching your fingers
A lot of people think that it is possible to stretch fullscreen but it is not everything stays the same except UI. I found a work around, if you play in windowed mode and stretch your entire desktop valorant appears stretched. You may be thinking “windowed mode what about fps and input lag???” I have an average build and I dont notice any input lag or fps stutters and I have been playing on this for about a year and I barely even notice its in windowed mode.
how? can u pls elaborate
@@CASH_111 google, there is many videos. But I had a problem, that I crouch on space, and additional jump button is alt to fly on jett. And alt+space make a windows hotkey options popup
can you make a video about left side vs right side?
good one!
Look up eye dominance and use the side that is opposite of your dominant eye
if ur left handed (like me) play left side, if ur right handed use right side

Stretching made my hs ratio a consistent 40℅ (it's only today idk id it woll continue to be this helpful)
All this time I was playing valorant streched without knowing what it really does
He is so underrated
Stretching improves, not only FPS but input delay as well. Your crosshair becomes bigger which people like, and for people who have screen tearing (like me), stretched res can reduce or completely remove all screen glitching without V Sync. I personally use 1750x1080 (16:10) and it is great, It stretches my game enough and it doesn't make anything blurry or look trash. It also makes my game smoother than when I use 16:9.
Green origin vandal appreciation
Always played cs stretched when I had a bad PC, after upgrading my PC over the years I still play stretched, I just got too used to it
you can truly stretch the game with vibrancegui and winexp and using windowed ingame because theres a feature in vibrance gui that can set the resolution of the game to be for example 1440x1080 stretch then you can make your game fullscreen with winexp and the models get truly stretched
@kaz its unpatchable im 99% sure
maybe they could ban using winexp but low chance most pros dont even use it so
I play at lowest res at 4:5 ratio and its because 2 reasons: fps a bit higher and minimap comperad to whole screen is larger and uts easier to see
i play 16:10 because it feels like it has the best crosshairs
I can tell you one thing: Stretching messes with any lineup not using the crosshair. Some has wiggle room and work still but I gotta use other reference points than I see in the guides on some, like half.
Ive used streched a month after i started and gave me 20-40 more fps tho i wish i could use the actual res with good fps
Arch can u do 1080 x 1080? It changes alot
ok I dont know if anyone gets this but.... If I strech my actual game (not just the ui) and then change my horizontal sens to make so its just like before (becaouse if the players move faster from left to right my crosshair is to) is that not better 4 me ?
You also need to change your monitor resolution for it to truly be stretched
Hey Archmeton do you have a patreon that i can support you from? I really enjoy your content and think you are higly under-rated so i want to help out atleast a little.
Haha maybe one day I'll open up a patreon, but for now just watching my videos is all I can ask for :) Thanks a ton!
The thicker the better in my books
How do I rec my footage stretched in val tracker without it being rendered squished.
I went from plat 1 to diamond 3 after changing my aspect ratio. Being able to actually see what you're trying to shoot at make all the difference.
what did u change it to
What did you change to?
@archmeton
didn´t they do it that way so you cannot get any kind of advantage by stretching at least that´s what i think it why they did it that way.
wasn´t it with older games that you could get an advantage from it by strechting?
Super underrated channel
I appreciate that!
Another reason is i got 75hz on 60hz monitor on 4:3 ration
one thing i dont like full hd cuz it so bright on full hd but on 4:3 or 5:4 it not bright
I think I may be the only one here to play valorant on 1920x864, black bars cuz it's only in-game that's stretched and not the UI (although being little glitched).
This is the 4:3 vs 16:9 debate in csgo but for valorant players
i just like the crosshairs a lot more on 4x3
*4:3
I was looking for stretching exercises lol
It makes me feel good
Wydm in Valorant, the enemy player doesen't get bigger. I use it because its my vibe and better fps
In rainbow six 4:3 aspect ratio makes it easier to hit long targets tbh but valorant doesnt really make any big advantages
Good Video
Video idea: maybe do a video if there are any benefits if you play your weapon on the left side on the screen or the right sie and compare it and yeah you are making great videos i enjoy every video keep it up!
It just depends on your dominant eye
you can get true stretched res. Stretched res does help with a lot of major things
You can stretch like in other games but you need the right steps. Try searching "true stretched res tutorial VALORANT" on yt.

I play 4:3 cause the stretched crosshair makes me feel home
bro im playing on 5:4 and it makes me 2x as good i ranked within a week from p1 10 rr to p3 30
Wide joy
How do you enable black bars?
i feel like when ur stretched that u zoom in further
Could you also try higher resolutions, like wqhd, the corsair etc gets way worse then on here imo
Could you join the dc and send me a dm there about what you mean? Cheers!
Great video. I am playing Valorant stretched since beta, high fps&low input lag. It's true, 5000 hours of CSGO made me take this decision
tou get more pixels with higher res, i honestly think its worth it using native res plus you don't get much fps by lowering res
i guess this guy doesnt know what true stretch is even with his 5000 hours of csgo, sad story

what about true streched res
Isnt there a way to stretch it like cs
the reason why i use stretch beacuse i play on a potato pc so i can squeeze those fps
Also helps with input delay
1280x960 stretched supremacy
Thought True Stretched
what about outlines
my only problem with the vid is that youre not using true streched resolution but the one val gives you, if you use true streched it will have the same effect as csgo streched so bigger models and faster paced game
Yep however I want to keep it within valorant, I will go into indepth things outside of valorant in another video
but theres some thing called TRUE STRETCHED that actually stretches the game like cs2 or rainbow seige
great video
you forgot about truestretch
i have potato computer and low graphics + 4:3 + vsync give me 60 fps at all times
Dont forget that by lowering your resulution it gives you more refresh rate, it is most useful on lower end panels (like mine)
He didn’t forget he mentions that in the video lol
Lowering resolution in a game will not impact your monitors refresh rate. It will only impact how demanding the game is, therefore lowering resolutions will give you higher fps, which is something he mentions in the video as a possible upside to stretching. However keep in mind that this benefit is only because the resolution is lower, not because it's stretched. Playing any 16:9 resolution that is lower than your current resolution will grant fps improvements.
i set something in the nvidia control panel that enabled that, domt exactly remember.
@@coc3233 Your monitor supports multiple different resolutions and maybe support multiple refresh rates at certain resolutions. Changing your monitor to different resolution and refresh rate combination will work. Changing the resolution of a game however won't change the amount that your monitor refreshes at it's current setting.
My comment mentioned "lowering resolution in a game" specifically for this reason. In games no matter the setting, besides ones specifically mentioning refresh rate, nothing should change the rate at which your monitor draws. Not all monitors support multiple different refresh rates. You mention specifically older / lower end monitors. By that I'll assume you mean 1080p 60hz ones as they are the most common today. Amongst these monitors some may offer a lower resolution at 75hz instead of 60hz which I assume you have. Changing your screens resolution and refresh rate in windows, or as you already mention, nVidia will of course change those settings. However that is not because of Valorant, it's because you changed it via Windows or such.
@@zabrac1566 Lowering resolution does actually increase my refresh rate though, if i play 1920x1080 fullscreen (native) i get 60Hz, if i play stretched fullscreen, like 4:3 or 5:3, i get 80Hz, even though in both cases i have 80Hz set in NVidia control panel and windows settings, so some people may have the same experience i do, only way for me to play at 80Hz @1920x1080 is going borderless

You can True Stretch RUclips Game but it isnt allowed
I don't understand why you didn't talk more about how people "move faster on stretched," if they move faster, or atleast appear to, then there would be a difference, no? I am on the fence about stretched, but the main reason why I would do it is because of the speed that people move, if they move faster they might be easier to perceive quickly.
"this video isnt about if you should stretch, its about if you could", but in general, stretching is good for entries and bad for angle holding!
I thought they removed it lol
