The reason why I talked about the speed is because of entering a intersection when speeds are higher it makes driving more dangerous because it isn’t fast. It’s important to think about others that are going the speed limit and it takes this more time to get up to speed causing others to slow down because of it. Think of semi-trucks when a vehicle merges now they have to slow down in-which if you cut in front they don’t have the brakes to stop 25-35 mph in 20 feet 👍

I have 16,583 miles on this car. I've had it for about 8 months. Most of the problems that I have with the vehicle are coming from hearsay I have not experienced the issues that other people are reporting with the car. My main concern with having a child was the exploding rear windshields which when it's cold outside and you turned on the rear defroster the compound they use to seal the window to the car reacts with the defrosters and that's what is causing the exploding windows. I did have a recall for a seat belt tensioner which they said the seatbelts passed. 2 service managers that I know said that there will be a fuel pump recall coming down the pipes along with a rear occupancy sensor recall I have noticed that the rear middle seat is showing someone is sitting in it when there's nothing in the back seats. It started going off for the seatbelt reminder and I did not have my son's car seat back there so I know something is definitely wrong with the middle rear occupancy sensor. If you are looking to utilize all 158 horsepower I suggest putting the gear shifter in the S mode and turning off traction control. I haven't noticed the power issue. I also dropped a $120 air filter in it and only use green motul oil.

Anything else (Mazda, Nissan, Kia, Chevy, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Hyundai) is disposable and/or problematic garbage.
Purchased a 2023 new, I’ve got around 40,000 miles on it so far. Pros - not bad on fuel, handles well. Cons - under powered for sure, rear window randomly shattered parked in my driveway. Awful road noise. I have a 2015 Silverado with AT tires that’s quieter. Factory Michelin tires lasted about 12 000 miles. Maybe a great city car, but out in the rural area and open highway I would not buy this again.
Been on the fence for awhile on these 2nd Gen Honda HRV but the sport is suitable for me bc the lx is barebones and exL is cool. The new is shape is definitely sexy tho! Only zonk is the engine is mehh and no magic seats😢 which goes handy during Costco 💦 trips. But I did find out that Honda been hiring top audi engineers to build and design these sexy looking hondas
I will hit 1000 miles on my 2wd sport today. It is only averaging 23 mpg highway/city. Very disappointed given my 2018 HRV lx (manual transmission) averaged 32 highway/city. I will say that it has more power, but the milage is sad. Hopefully it just needs more time to burn off the materials, but like I said, already at 1000 miles on the thing.
The switch from the Fit Chassis of the previous HR-V to the Civic Chassis does not make the Magic Seats possible because of the gas tank location. This version rear seat has better cushioning and folds lower and flatter with the rear storage.
I bought one July 22. Over 1 year. And paid $3k on top of the MSRP. Overall this car is good but two things annoy me. 1) lack of power and 2) road noise. Otherwise it is a home run from Honda.
Even though they increased the power with the Civic engine it's still underpowered. I have a 2020 Sport and overall, it's a very nice vehicle except for the underpowered engine. Needs the 1.5L Turbo to be competitive.
Is the gas tank still a hump under the driver's seat? We have a 2018 and that tank is very annoying for me on long drives. I like to set the cruise and bring my feet back up to the front of the seat but that tank gets in the way.
I purchased my 2024 Honda Hrv few days ago and I noticed on my 3rd day wirh car that it started to vibrate when I drive speed of 60 to 65 mph. So I said maybe it's the road. So next day it happened again I contacted my dealership and spoke to my salesperson he suggested to bring it over the weekend. So brought car Saturday and they said they balances tires and to test it again. If it happens again to bring it back so I did. I brought it back Saturday and service department told me they don't have a loaner at this time and to come Monday. I am going to drop off the car today and get a loaner. Again this should not be happening. My neighbor I found out over the weekend she is also having same issues. Anyone else with this problem? If so, how was it resolved. Your comments are appreciated it
I just saw this video today. (3-19-24) I recently purchased the sport one, and I, too, had noticed it started to vibrate. I'm going to keep eye on it. If it continues, I will contact my sales rep.
We just bought one yesterday. 2024 HRV Sport Nordic Forest Pearl. I did noticed some vibration while sitting in the car while engine was running in park. Did notice some road noise while on the highway. Please keep me updated on what was found to cause the vibration. Hopefully not an issue going forward.
The Sport trim is a trap (that I fell for). The EXL is the best trim. The EX is the budget trim. Note that the Sport trim does not have parking sensors (EXL does).

Well let’s just put one thing right out there in the open, this is incredibly plain inside and out. Truly looks like a budget vehicle. At least the prior generation had some character. Doesn’t seem to offer much of anything in any regard. Honda should make their slogan “less for more.” I expect much better from a top brand.
I agree they went more simple and all the rivals are more less going the same route, touchscreen, standard dash and carrying over other parts from other trims 👍
What character did the prior generation have besides being the ugliest model in the entire Honda lineup? That awful chrome beak grille had character to you? Bffr
@@myNEONCITY Both are bottom of the barrel to be sure judging on interior and exterior looks. But I did like the side profile character lines and the rear door handle design of the former. It had a sporty feel to it overall. This generation looks like absolutely nothing. However, it kind of looks like the Ford Escape before the recent refresh, but not even that good. Yes, the front grill of the former model was indeed hideous. Obviously this entry level SUV hasn’t been any sort of priority for Honda. It’s like they just thre it in there because they feel as though they need to have one.
I wouldn’t listen to that, I found the seats comfortable and it’s not like this is a sports car. It drives better than the last generation and yes it’s not perfect but for the price it’s a good vehicle, test it for yourself and update us with your experience 👍
Agreed , “overall,,” -/ I have one-- and just surprised that the 2024 doesn’t offer anything new at all- especially after all the tons of reviews highlighting some simple things that could have been improved - like the empty cubby in the back seat area

Thank you for sharing your insight
Been on the fence for awhile on these 2nd Gen Honda HRV but the sport is suitable for me bc the lx is barebones and exL is cool. The new is shape is definitely sexy tho! Only zonk is the engine is mehh and no magic seats😢 which goes handy during Costco 💦 trips. But I did find out that Honda been hiring top audi engineers to build and design these sexy looking hondas
They are nice vehicles 👍
I will hit 1000 miles on my 2wd sport today. It is only averaging 23 mpg highway/city. Very disappointed given my 2018 HRV lx (manual transmission) averaged 32 highway/city. I will say that it has more power, but the milage is sad. Hopefully it just needs more time to burn off the materials, but like I said, already at 1000 miles on the thing.
@@anonymousdonor thanks for sharing your insight
I got 29 to 30 highway and 24 to 26 city, that is normal driving and calculations are miles divided by used gallons.
@fibonaccisequence2891 I'm at 5K now, and it is 30 highway 24.6 city. So, a little better.
@@anonymousdonor glad your experience improved.
an SI trim and hybrid option would be nice… and bring back the maGic seat
I agree 👍
The switch from the Fit Chassis of the previous HR-V to the Civic Chassis does not make the Magic Seats possible because of the gas tank location. This version rear seat has better cushioning and folds lower and flatter with the rear storage.
@@jjacob25101in a word; tradeoffs
Thank you for the really good review!!
Your welcome 👍
This is a great reasonably affordable "go to and from" car for one person (older or younger).... If want a race car, get a Porche.
😃 I agree
I bought one July 22. Over 1 year. And paid $3k on top of the MSRP. Overall this car is good but two things annoy me. 1) lack of power and 2) road noise. Otherwise it is a home run from Honda.
Congratulations and thank you for your owner’s insight
great review
thanks for sharing
Thank you 👍
Even though they increased the power with the Civic engine it's still underpowered. I have a 2020 Sport and overall, it's a very nice vehicle except for the underpowered engine. Needs the 1.5L Turbo to be competitive.
That is a good point 👍
1.5t is junk be happy you’re not using that engine..
Nice video! What about cabin noide? I heard a lot of it, I don't know in real life! Thanks!!!
You will here the outside at higher speeds, anything under 40 mph it will be quite but if you are pushing the gas hard than it will be noisy 👍
Is the gas tank still a hump under the driver's seat? We have a 2018 and that tank is very annoying for me on long drives. I like to set the cruise and bring my feet back up to the front of the seat but that tank gets in the way.
It’s under the rear seats off the civic platform no longer off the fit design
Your comments are appreciated it
I will be going back to Honda next week so I will talk to the technician team and update you
I just saw this video today.
Thanks for your input 👍
LX is the base trim, not EX
The look is awesome❤
@@dukeopeace7530 I agree
Is this a gas saving for long distance drive?
All depends on how you drive 👍
I see there’s some good space in the back how tall are you? I have two kids and I feel like they’re gonna be pretty tall.

What about the long term reliability of the CVT?
They make a good vehicle 👍
I’ve heard bad things about it
Good looking HRV 2024…. But I am worry about power engine 158 hp is not enough dude…. We need a better HRV with better engine, and hybrid versions, etc, etc…. Cool video…
I agree more power is always welcome 👍
To me Big problem with this Vehicle , and reason I did not buy it, No Tow Package, was not looking to To anything Huge but needed it for my Utility Trailer, My MTB's , My Fishing Kayak Trailer (saying fishing Kayak because it is much bigger then one you can put on your Roof.... and this is the same reason I can not consider the Hyundai Subcompact SUVS
It is always nice to have towing with any suv
CR-V gets same mileage and out weighs this. Why such crappy mileage on such a small car?
It is around 5 inches less then the CR V, about 400lbs less in weight but it has the 2.0l engine with 158hp /178lb ft. It’s a small engine and around 300lbs more curb weight than the civic it comes from. That is why 👍
thank you for going to the Dealer to review, short term, no huge problem a huge Opinion good luck IMHO Honda did good on the design change, SUCKED on the Cr-v hange they should have never designed a 5th gen at all/
Pushing everyone to hybrid is the key for the crv if you want options 👍
@@HawkeyeRides What I hope for Just saw my first CR-V Identical to the HR-v from the hoods side
Im getting mine in 2 weeks…
Too bad there are not so many!!
I agree but it’s better for you as you will not see too many on the road, congratulations 🎊 👍 great vehicles.
Geez, I thought everyone was making CVTs with stepped shifts. This thing groans and drones like the old originals 16 17 years ago.
That is a good point 👍

So, what is the One Big Problem? Or did I miss it?
It’s my pros and cons during the drive part of the review
I watched the discussion during the drive twice again. And again, I missed the "ONE Hugh Problem."
If this was just a "Bait and Switch," you should be ashamed and not have "hooks" in your title. Since you prefer that I watch time and again, I would think if you wanted to maintain viewers, you would simply tell me what the "Huge Problem" is.
@@thomaseaton4077 it’s the pros and cons I talk about it explain different tips of the vehicles. Just like the thumbnail is it good or not, when a person who is watching the video they can make a better decision of what is good or bad for them. Even in my channel page I explain 3 things I like and dislike nothing here is misleading.
Rear passenger area is a bust, no air vents, no arm rest, no cup holder, no usb, power not there
That’s a good point 👍
Make turbo 2.0 then I'm sold.
If only they give this the accord 2.0 turbo it would be near the best vehicle in class 👍
Súper Great
Thanks
UNDERPOWERED DO NOT TAKE THIS THING ON THE HIGHWAY. YOU WILL BE SORRY
It’s not everyone’s fav
very underpowered!!! read all the reviews!
For the price of this vehicle and where it fits in, it’s right on par. Do your own research not other reviewers, this is how I review 👍
Sucks only 1 12 v outlet and it’s in the trunk so I couldn’t hook up my dash cam
Check to see for an adapter for usb
Thanks for the advice!
Can that terrible looking honeycomb interior dash be replaced by a normal interior
I’m sure you can do some aftermarket work to it 👍
1st here 😊
👍
Wanted to test drive this week. Underpowered, and shitty seats I've read. Damn. Dunno now.
I wouldn’t listen to that, I found the seats comfortable and it’s not like this is a sports car. It drives better than the last generation and yes it’s not perfect but for the price it’s a good vehicle, test it for yourself and update us with your experience 👍
The 1.5 L Engine stops me from buying one.
It’s not everyone’s fav but it’s a good everyday vehicle 👍
The driver seat is uncomfortable…
It’s not everyone’s fav
I test drove it. Underpowered.
It depends on what you are driving now but more power is always welcome 👍
The OTD price on this car should be 25k. Anything more, and you're getting ripped off.
It would be awesome to get it even less 👍
Sooooooo,
Nothing different from 2023 sport
Wow
Thanks Honda
Especially the ugly empty cubby in the back seat
They are nice vehicles overall 👍
Agreed , “overall,,” -/
I have one-- and just surprised that the 2024 doesn’t offer anything new at all- especially after all the tons of reviews highlighting some simple things that could have been improved -
like the empty cubby in the back seat area
