i'm trans myself. i grew up with harry potter and i dgaf what JK has said. the things she said where not about me, but about the trend and the social contagion of the trans ideology and how its effecting kids and speaks on biological gender. i've been looking forward to this game since announcement and have been playing it since early release and don't plan to stop any time soon. i'm terrified of posting about it anywhere tho for fear of being harrassed. even just talking about it in comments on facebook have gotten me kicked from groups and told i'm internally transphobic. its... been a WILD ride. this game has been amazing and the amount of JOY it has given me is something i miss from games today. i would not be surprised if this was in fact game of the year. i HIGHLY suggest you play it, even if you don't get into the universe or know anything about it, i heard from many that they are loving it too.
Any group that does that is one not worth being in. I've actively started leaving most of the meme groups I was in on FB before they could even do that now, because all it takes is one look at the toxicity to know you wouldnt be welcome if you dont fall in line with your in-group. I'm bi. I was in this meme group about something called "The Lorb". It was actaully pretty funny. Long story short lobsters eventually die of old age when they get so big, that the amount of energy they have to expend in molting exceeds what they can handle. The theory is, if you could find a way to help a lobster to molt, so it doesnt spend any energy doing it, then you could in theory grow a giant lobster (and subsequently worship it as a god, lol). For some reason the meme page was increasingly ran by purple haired activist feminists, the memes became less about the Lorb, and more about "fighting n@zis" or some sh!t (which, as a student of history, has always bothered me, because I genuinely dont think these people know what a real n@zi looks like). Anyway, I let myself get sucked into a few flame wars a few times, usually calling out some LGBT person for being... A MASSIVE F@CKING @$$HOLE (then playing the victim in the situation). Then it would progress like this. First, have it pointed out that Im a white straight male, and therefore, dont get to have an opinion. Then if I dare correct them on that, being bi, I get one of two responses. Either Im then not intersectional enough to have an opinion, OR, I get no-true-scottsman'd, with either having my sexuality questioned by being accused of just being diet straight or some sh@t (the sort of thing you'd expect some genuinely homophobic conservatives to say), or by being called internally homophobic. And when its striaght "gay allies" saying this sh@t, it really gets under my skin... Like, oh, ok, so ya'll wanna give us a voice, but the second one of us uses that voice for "wrong speak", suddenly my voice is buried? You can have a voice as a minority... So long as you toe a stupid party line. I ended up leaving that group, I was just like, f@ck this, Im tired of being called every bigot label under the sun for tepid midtakes, this group isnt funny anymore anyway, and Im not here to get force fed "the left cant meme" propaganda memes. Anyway, the best thing you can do for yourself, avoid the activism black hole at all costs, become a positive statistic for the group you represent by pursuing career passions OTHER than activism, and most importantly, keep smashing stereotypes by not being like the others. I had a lot of rural grown conservative coworkers in the military. A few of them told me later that I'd completely changed their outlook on LGBT people. They didnt know it was possible for one to not be obsessed with PC culture. And once they realized that, it made them comfortable enough to ask more personal questions about how I viewed the world and relationships. I never judged them for anything they had to ask or say about it.

I got a Hogwarts Legacy ad before this video. I love the game. The creators actually allowed for a diverse character design with a voice pitch option. There's diversity in the npc's. For the most part it follows the lore which is really nice. The graphics are beautiful. The combat could be harder on hard mode, but that's minor. People have no problems in their lives and this is an easy target that's all.
@@rapthewrapper5467 I'd say it's worth the money. The map is huge. The spells are interesting and I haven't gotten to the end of the story, but I'm sure they'll be a sequel with new ones to try. The side quests take you all over the map. The graphics are gorgeous especially riding on a broom. I have a few issues with it, but it's mostly that I find the hardest difficulty to be to easy.
They even use they/them to refer to your character in third person, and the gameplay as far as I've seen looks incredible. Got to say, I think the diversity was treated well, although I wished they played around more with the possibility of having different schools other than Hogwarts. There could even be leeway for that - since it's not set in London, they don't have to walk on glass shards just so they wouldn't mess up the original plot to Harry Potter and this game. That could even explain some nitpicks people had over the last few movies/books, such as why weren't there other schools that helped Hogwarts during the battle of Voldemort (unless there already was an explanation). Some schools could've had a curse placed on them, some have been destroyed, or some were having their own troubles. And that, again, could let them play around different mythologies whilst incorporating original mythologies...man, so much potential.

1. Ethical consumption in our system is a myth. Someone somewhere is always getting the short end of the stick. 2. Liking a game is enough to buy it and play it. It's not reflective of your values. As someone who owns the game. You can tell that the devs took every measure possible to be inclusive. This is probably the most gender, race, identity, culture, all that inclusive I have seen in a modern video game.

Aba I think the point you might be missing is the people in the comments are sending death threats, they are doxing the streamers so the know their names and where they live/work and sending death threats. So there is a point where this stuff goes beyond empty threats and becomes severely damaging. Either the potential of loosing work and needing to move because of drama. The possibility of loosing your streamer account for reports of hatred. Also loosing friends because these people are actually doxing and threatening the streamers friends. I played some old version of hagward world (don’t remember the name) similar to this h.legacy. I’m so excited for this new version if u say it’s is really good! I feel bad for trans ppl, I’ve met a few during my entertainment activities in many places and none of them liked this unwanted attention. Those activists pretending to be compassionate are actually making trans ppl life harder by obsessively insisting on very radical opinions that none of trans people I’ve met shared, some told me how it changed the way ppl talk to them and not in a good way. Before they were treated like a human being most of time but now some ppl will treat them differently bc of all the drama and I don’t think they are living this situation very well. Some have no one to talk too sincerely, to discuss sensitive subjects /decisions /mistakes, and often they feel as they have no ally only 2 judgemental extremes Sometimes we don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are. Thats why I believe that some of those activists are unknowingly chasing a part of themselves they haven’t accepted so they project it onto their perception of the world. Also playing with viewers negative emotions is a very efficient way to monetize your videos , really pathetic…

I don't hate or fear trans people, as many that I have met are just people with issues trying to live their best lives. I don't have any desire to take any part of that away from them. Tbh, I think j.k Rowling is for the most part being misrepresented. I think most people labeled TERF's are. I think Dave Chapelle said it best, sometimes the line between someone being trans or just essentially acting out the gender equivalent of blackface is blurry and that makes a lot women uncomfortable. Which it should in all honesty, because not all people that claim to be trans are actually that, some of them get on it for the kink of crossdressing and being perceived as feminine. What we DON'T do is feed into those delusions by encouraging them to go even farther. Recommending so-called transgender surgery to a patient who believes they are a different gender, is like recommending liposuction, eating less, weight loss, and appetite-suppressing drugs to an anorexic with less than 4% body fat. It is exactly opposite of what that patient needs. In my view, transgender people fall into three camps. The first is the healthy variety. The least common. These are people who realize that they are what they are, and they choose to live as another gender and are willing to accept the inconvenience, pain, potentially shortened life due to hormones, and public scrutiny. I have two friends like this. I was in their respective weddings. But neither of them have any delusions about what they are. In a conversation with the FTM she told me that she understands she is very probably shortening her life by 10 to 20 years because of the combination of testosterone and estrogen blockers. She was mentally stable, and happy before her transition. And she is mentally stable and happy now. That is a non delusional person who recognizes that they are posing as another gender and that's how they want to live their life. And I support that in those cases. The second variety are the delusional. The people who believe they actually have changed from female to male or male to female. Dad is delusion in the face of reality. And that should not be celebrated, or encouraged, and no surgery or hormone therapy should be given in that case. Those people should be treated for their mental illness. The same way that you treat someone suffering from anorexia nervosa. The third group are transtrenders. These are people who are rolling with the trend. Many of them may overlap with the delusional category, but that's a case-by-case. Many of these people are very young, under the influence of public trends. Your typical young person who's going through a crisis of identity. Which is something that every young person goes through as they grow from a child into an adult. The problem is now you've got this entire industry targeting these people telling them that their normal adolescent angst is actually gender dysmorphia and then push and encourage them to follow this path of transgenderism. Frankly that is evil. It isn't like becoming Emo or goth, which are entirely reversible conditions. This leads to permanent physiological and psychological damage. Currently the left is engaging in an all fronts War to influence the second and third type to grab onto transgenderism as their flag. And then fly that flag and hate anyone who attempts to actually help them. This is an extension of the prior push, which was more subtle, where they push adolescents into adopting lgb Lifestyles, and then set up the straw man that conservatives are their enemy because they're gay. But conservative person doesn't care how you live your life as long as you're not hurting others. The line gets drawn when you start pushing particular lifestyles on children or the mentally ill who can't reasonably make decisions. For the second and third type, the delusional and transtrenders, psychological and or psychiatric should be the approach. Not encouraging them to delve ever deeper into delusion. First, face what you really are. Get healthy in that space. Then, as a consenting adult who is not delusional, if you wish to pretend to be another gender, then that's your choice as an adult. I draw another line at being forced to call someone a woman, who is not. I will be polite, As Long As You Are. But I will not pull punches on the facts of the case. And if you decide to try to insist that I call you a woman, when you are not. I will refuse. In the history of humankind no man has ever become a woman. That's reality.

The worst part is that it’s not going to affect JK Rowling AT ALL. She has so much money, that it wouldn’t even matter if you support the game or not. She once went from being a billionaire to being a millionaire because she gave so much money away. The only people who would be hurt are the people who actually worked on the game. I don’t see the same energy when it comes to corporations like Disney.
Not just because she’s already wealthy but because she’s already been payed all the money for the game. She was paid £18m for the publishing rights for the game. She isn’t earning royalties on the revenue. No matter how well the game does financially, she already made the money she was going to make. No amount of stomping feet or screaming at people will change that.
I actually didn't pay much attention to this game, if anything, the backlash has brought the game to my attention now and I'm probably getting it this weekend. It looks really good. Id bet most of the people boycotting the game don't even know what JK said that got backlash, they just heard in their echo chambers that Jk was transphobic and they need to virtue signal how good of a person they think they are. That's my perception of basically every scenario like this.

Hasan isn't willing to play a damn video game cause he's worried about what his audience would think if they knew it. After watching streamers for a few years, you learn that if their chat is being annoying it can easily destroy their motivation to continue that stream. These people condition themselves to interact with their chat for hours, so the chat is a huge part of the point of them streaming. I think its equivalent to any performer on a stage with a live crowd if the crowd hates it its going to kill your mood.

Good point, however it’s quite a reach. Streamers are not comedians and they’re are not rated by their ability to make a live crowd laugh, it’s not even the same. I find it funny that people are saying, “you’re transphobic” if you play the game, when there are literal characters in the game that are LGTBQ. You can make your character non-binary if you want. Don't worry, those of us who aren't indoctrinated into the cult mindset have no issue with the game or JKR. Love the game so far btw (about 5 hours in, and it's been everything I've wanted from an open world Hogwarts Game, i used to go to the library to play the old ps2/pc harry potter quiditch game all the time and I've wanted an open world Hogwarts game since, Hogwarts Legacy has so far given me everything I wanted out of that. Those of us that don't have our heads up our own assholes recognize the work put into the game and appreciate it. this game has been amazing and the amount of JOY it has given me is something i miss from games today. i would not be surprised if this was in fact game of the year. i HIGHLY suggest you play it, even if you don't get into the universe or know anything about it, i heard from many that they are loving it too.
Any group that does that is one not worth being in. I've actively started leaving most of the meme groups I was in on FB before they could even do that now, because all it takes is one look at the toxicity to know you wouldnt be welcome if you dont fall in line with your in-group.
I'm bi. I was in this meme group about something called "The Lorb". It was actaully pretty funny. Long story short lobsters eventually die of old age when they get so big, that the amount of energy they have to expend in molting exceeds what they can handle. The theory is, if you could find a way to help a lobster to molt, so it doesnt spend any energy doing it, then you could in theory grow a giant lobster (and subsequently worship it as a god, lol).
For some reason the meme page was increasingly ran by purple haired activist feminists, the memes became less about the Lorb, and more about "fighting n@zis" or some sh!t (which, as a student of history, has always bothered me, because I genuinely dont think these people know what a real n@zi looks like).
Anyway, I let myself get sucked into a few flame wars a few times, usually calling out some LGBT person for being... A MASSIVE F@CKING @$$HOLE (then playing the victim in the situation). Then it would progress like this. First, have it pointed out that Im a white straight male, and therefore, dont get to have an opinion. Then if I dare correct them on that, being bi, I get one of two responses. Either Im then not intersectional enough to have an opinion, OR, I get no-true-scottsman'd, with either having my sexuality questioned by being accused of just being diet straight or some sh@t (the sort of thing you'd expect some genuinely homophobic conservatives to say), or by being called internally homophobic.
And when its striaght "gay allies" saying this sh@t, it really gets under my skin... Like, oh, ok, so ya'll wanna give us a voice, but the second one of us uses that voice for "wrong speak", suddenly my voice is buried? You can have a voice as a minority... So long as you toe a stupid party line. I ended up leaving that group, I was just like, f@ck this, Im tired of being called every bigot label under the sun for tepid midtakes, this group isnt funny anymore anyway, and Im not here to get force fed "the left cant meme" propaganda memes.
Anyway, the best thing you can do for yourself, avoid the activism black hole at all costs, become a positive statistic for the group you represent by pursuing career passions OTHER than activism, and most importantly, keep smashing stereotypes by not being like the others. I had a lot of rural grown conservative coworkers in the military. A few of them told me later that I'd completely changed their outlook on LGBT people. They didnt know it was possible for one to not be obsessed with PC culture. And once they realized that, it made them comfortable enough to ask more personal questions about how I viewed the world and relationships. I never judged them for anything they had to ask or say about it.
I'm not into HP. The whole "house elves" thing is too effed up and creepy for me personally.

I got a Hogwarts Legacy ad before this video. I love the game. The creators actually allowed for a diverse character design with a voice pitch option. There's diversity in the npc's. For the most part it follows the lore which is really nice. The graphics are beautiful. The combat could be harder on hard mode, but that's minor. People have no problems in their lives and this is an easy target that's all.
I've never watched anything of the Harry Potter series, but I'm thinking of buying this game since I'm hearing good things about it.
@@rapthewrapper5467 I'd say it's worth the money. The map is huge. The spells are interesting and I haven't gotten to the end of the story, but I'm sure they'll be a sequel with new ones to try. The side quests take you all over the map. The graphics are gorgeous especially riding on a broom. I have a few issues with it, but it's mostly that I find the hardest difficulty to be to easy.
They even use they/them to refer to your character in third person, and the gameplay as far as I've seen looks incredible.
Got to say, I think the diversity was treated well, although I wished they played around more with the possibility of having different schools other than Hogwarts. There could even be leeway for that - since it's not set in London, they don't have to walk on glass shards just so they wouldn't mess up the original plot to Harry Potter and this game.
That could even explain some nitpicks people had over the last few movies/books, such as why weren't there other schools that helped Hogwarts during the battle of Voldemort (unless there already was an explanation). Some schools could've had a curse placed on them, some have been destroyed, or some were having their own troubles.
And that, again, could let them play around different mythologies whilst incorporating original mythologies...man, so much potential.
For real the game itself has a lot of positive points

These are people who realize that they are what they are, and they choose to live as another gender and are willing to accept the inconvenience, pain, potentially shortened life due to hormones, and public scrutiny. I have two friends like this. I was in their respective weddings. But neither of them have any delusions about what they are. In a conversation with the FTM she told me that she understands she is very probably shortening her life by 10 to 20 years because of the combination of testosterone and estrogen blockers. She was mentally stable, and happy before her transition. And she is mentally stable and happy now. That is a non delusional person who recognizes that they are posing as another gender and that's how they want to live their life. And I support that in those cases.
The second variety are the delusional. The people who believe they actually have changed from female to male or male to female. Dad is delusion in the face of reality. And that should not be celebrated, or encouraged, and no surgery or hormone therapy should be given in that case. Those people should be treated for their mental illness. The same way that you treat someone suffering from anorexia nervosa.
The third group are transtrenders. These are people who are rolling with the trend. Many of them may overlap with the delusional category, but that's a case-by-case. Many of these people are very young, under the influence of public trends. Your typical young person who's going through a crisis of identity. Which is something that every young person goes through as they grow from a child into an adult. The problem is now you've got this entire industry targeting these people telling them that their normal adolescent angst is actually gender dysmorphia and then push and encourage them to follow this path of transgenderism. Frankly that is evil. It isn't like becoming Emo or goth, which are entirely reversible conditions. This leads to permanent physiological and psychological damage.
Currently the left is engaging in an all fronts War to influence the second and third type to grab onto transgenderism as their flag. And then fly that flag and hate anyone who attempts to actually help them. This is an extension of the prior push, which was more subtle, where they push adolescents into adopting lgb Lifestyles, and then set up the straw man that conservatives are their enemy because they're gay. But conservative person doesn't care how you live your life as long as you're not hurting others. The line gets drawn when you start pushing particular lifestyles on children or the mentally ill who can't reasonably make decisions.
For the second and third type, the delusional and transtrenders, psychological and or psychiatric should be the approach. Not encouraging them to delve ever deeper into delusion.
First, face what you really are. Get healthy in that space. Then, as a consenting adult who is not delusional, if you wish to pretend to be another gender, then that's your choice as an adult.
I draw another line at being forced to call someone a woman, who is not. I will be polite, As Long As You Are. But I will not pull punches on the facts of the case. And if you decide to try to insist that I call you a woman, when you are not. I will refuse. In the history of humankind no man has ever become a woman. That's reality.

I actually didn't pay much attention to this game, if anything, the backlash has brought the game to my attention now and I'm probably getting it this weekend. It looks really good. After watching streamers for a few years, you learn that if their chat is being annoying it can easily destroy their motivation to continue that stream. These people condition themselves to interact with their chat for hours, so the chat is a huge part of the point of them streaming. I worked on this game. We put every we had on this game, in multiple studios, including WB Montreal. Peoples jobs rely on these games doing well... These people are sucking the life out of everything, they don't care about anyone... It just hurts...
We’re starting to push back on this as a society. Take solace in that. I don’t play games anymore, but I was a huge HP fan and it honestly looks like an incredible game. Thank you for your hard work, it clearly paid off… the internet gives these weak people more power than they should have. The trans people I know are level headed… all of this is honestly embarrassing… American culture is so poisoned…
Don't worry, those of us who aren't indoctrinated into the cult mindset have no issue with the game or JKR. Even as someone who's Bi, I can recognize the toxicity and abuse of power the LGBTQ community has attempted to do over the last few years. Love the game so far btw (about 5 hours in, and it's been everything I've wanted from an open world Hogwarts Game, i used to go to the library to play the old ps2/pc harry potter quiditch game all the time and I've wanted an open world Hogwarts game since, Hogwarts Legacy has so far given me everything I wanted out of that. Those of us that don't have our heads up our own assholes recognize the work put into the game and appreciate it. So just know that the less delusionally insane among us recognize and appreciate the work that went into the game.

Probably some of the most reasonable people on the internet are Aba and Preach, Asmon and Destiny. If you see their 3 takes on an issue, you can be damn sure you probably formulated the correct one for yourself based on their perspectives. Asmon will give you the down to earth gamer, who could barely give a fuck, Destiny will give you like 3 opposing perspectives, argue their sides the best possible, then destroy their rationale, and give you his own, and Aba will give you the human take, what you might have missed, and what the terminally online people absolutely always seem to forget and gloss over.
