Here's a thought, how about drilling an extra hole after you take off the pan. Then get the nut plate and bolt it down without the skit plate. Now weld the nut plate to the frame where you drilled the extra hole. No more nut plate getting loose or having or having to fight with realigning that nut plate every time you need to remove the skid plate.
Instead of putting a bolt in to hold the nut plate use a threaded rod about 4" long, put one on each end. Now when lifting the skid in place the rods go through the bolt holes allowing you to hold the nut plate while threading the other bolts in.
I have mine in place but it contacts the bottom of tc. Just the last bit of movement to body, the plate contacts and barely pushes it. I do have the iro front long arms but not transfer case drop plates. Wondering if the contact is bad juju.
You probably have worn motor mounts/ transmission mounts. Letting it all sit lower. I replaced mine and the transmission and engine sat about an inch higher afterwards.

@romeshter Good idea!

Thanks for the helpful video
I need it I went to Rausch creek off-road park this weekend and I was so worried about catching my transfer case
Can you make a video of a 4-link install on a Wj?
Great Video, answered so many questions....where did you get those nut plates - II can't find them anywhere!?! THanks!
The nut plates come with the WJ Belly Skid Plate
What about the transmission pan? I'm always stressing about it and can't find a skid available
